It is the year 2016. Mutated animals have taken out mankind. You are a survivor.
Advanced RP - An RP that has a set story line, and requires high writing abilities and well thought out posts, no matter what.
Brilliant scientists from across the world were abducted by an underground terrorist group in the year 2016, and were kept hidden from the outside world. They were used against their will for a whole year, to develop a virus that would mutate the brains of animals, providing it wasn't strong enough to overwhelm the disease. The virus would strengthen and evolve the animal at rapid paces, making them feral and lethal. The terrorist group planned on unleashing these beasts – using them as weapons – to take over their country, and, if they could, the world. Their hope was futile; the animals went against the terrorists, however, and took out nearly all of the scientists and terrorist. One survivor was bitten as he fled to safe haven, and the virus spread to the humans and animals. Sadly, because of how developed the human brain was, the virus practically destroyed people. The disease was viral, infecting all the world at a rapid pace. Most people simply died because their brain couldn't handle it. Those who didn't were transformed into suicidal, explosive green mutants who were hell bent on destroying anything they saw.
However, there is hope. A small group of people who are immune to the virus are scattered along the western coast of North America. If they were to band together, defend themselves, and rebuild society, life could have a chance of coming back to the way things used to be.
Well, as close as they could, when the world was filled with mutants.
Hey, guys and gals. Welcome to my roleplay. I believe it is an original idea. I've participated in plenty on this forum, and I've always wanted to set one up, but I've never gotten around to it. But, ha, here we are I guess. I want this to be a respectable roleplay, with respectable people. I don't like the flood of all the half-assed roleplays on this forum, and I want to change that. I clearly can't stop people from making them, but perhaps I can inspire them to try harder. Who knows, eh? Well, shall we begin?
This is a post apocalyptic, human world. The one we call our home. However, in the virus, Minecraft elements have been brought out. Spiders are incredibly large, primates are basically the zombies and skeletons of Minecraft, and creepers make their appearance as well.
Guns exist. However, most are eroded or destroyed. Very few redneck and police stashes exist, and getting into these would be incredibly hard to find and challenging. You can start with a gun, but only a pistol of sorts. Preferably not a powerful one.
Magic doesn't exist in this roleplay. However, a survivor is working on a way to manipulate the virus to work for the survivors, to take one enhanced characteristic from an animal. You do not get to start with an animal ability.
This is set in modern times. Very few advancements have been made since 2011. Electricity still works providing you have a generator. If you can find gas, and an actual working vehicle, it is possible to drive around. However, all of these things are hard to come by. I wish you luck.
You are a human. No fancy races, no mythical creatures, you are a simple human survivor.
Try to avoid making a combat-based character. You can know how to fight, sure, but if everybody comes from a military background, it makes an uninteresting RP. Think about it. All the survivors are probably average people who lived average lives.
This RP will be run by the players, with guidance from the mods. If you want to start a plot twist, or change something around, or pitch an idea, PM me this idea and I'll look over it.

Bob Georgio: The expert cook.
Here is my application, to follow as an example.
Name: Lester Johnson
Age: 28
Personality: Lester is calm and relaxed. Often times, it seems like he doesn't have a care in the world. He is actually incredibly intelligent, but often doesn't use his head, and makes stupid mistakes. He likes to show off when he gets the chance, but usually he prefers to sit back and let other people do the dirty work. He is confident, and sometimes cocky, when it comes to socializing.
Appearance: Lester has thin black hair, that was usually gelled up. However, after the outbreak, he gave up on gel and let it hang loose, and cut it with his scalpel whenever it got out of hand, usually resulting in a lot of cuts along his forehead. He has thin eyebrows. His eyes are a light green, with a soft tinge of blue. He wears glasses, because he has poor vision. They have thin frames, but his back-up glasses have very thick frames. He has a closely shaved beard, that never seems to want to grow.. He has a wide nose, and has a seemingly always smirking face.
He is in shape, but doesn't have a well-muscled body. He never tried for muscles, and found them distasteful. He simply gets his daily activity and eats healthy. He has a tattoo of a mole on his left arm, his favorite animal. He always thought it was amazing how effective burrowing was too their lifestyles. He wears a well-used white lab-coat, with a tight shirt under it. He wears cargo pants, for their use in an apocalyptic world. He wears military-style boots, to keep the debris of the destroyed world from hurting him. He also wears blue rubber gloves and a face mask in case anything is contaminated. He usually wears the mask around his neck, unless he goes out.
Equipment: Lester carries a well sharpened scalpel, and a sturdy pair of brass knuckles. He also holds onto a rusted revolver that only just barely works, that has eighteen shots left.
Skills: Lester is a fairly decent fighter, from teaching himself how to handle bullies in high school. He also took up boxing for a year or too. However, he is a marine biologist. Examining the animals of the deep, identifying them, and learning about them is his passion. He has a masters degree in marine biology, and hoped to go for a PhD before the world ended. He is a quick thinker, and is also a bit of a poet.
Biography: Lester was always very smart. He didn't achieve top grades in his classes, simply because he was far too lazy and laid back to get any work done. But when he sets his mind to it, the job is done quickly and efficiently. This made him an infamous procrastinater, which was his big downfall in high school, making his grades plummet until eleventh grade. This was when he realized that if he didn't do well in school, he wouldn't make it anywhere in life. His best class was biology, to be more specific, the marine department of it. Because of his sudden interest in learning, he was deemed a nerd and picked on all the time. Not fond of this, he taught himself to throw punches just in case he ever got stuck in a fight. After seeing his success in this, he took boxing lessons and came third in a small tournament, where he ended up breaking his leg. He wasn't one to go back to something if he got hurt, so he gave up on boxing. He graduated high school with an A average and went on to university, majoring in marine biology.
The virus hit on a school break, where he was visiting his family. They were eating dinner, happily, all congratulating Lester on his academic success. Things got awkward, however, when his younger brothers pet turtle came crashing through the roof, twenty times it's previous size. Rising to his feet, Lester looked at in shock. He had heard rumors of this – terrorists creating a virus that would affect animals – but didn't expect it to be true. He turned to see the rest of his family, choking. They were all suddenly struck with an illness, and seemed to be dying. He wondered why he wasn't affected at all, as they dropped to the floor. Lester ran off too his lab, shaking as he saw everyone practically drop dead. He took a scalpel, and looted the guards dead body for brass knuckles and a pistol. He also grabbed gloves and a mask, just for safety precautions.
He lives in the attic of the lab, periodically going up to the roof when the screeching of birds stop. Or, when they started. He needed food sometimes.
Additional Facts: Bad vision, allergic to bee stings.
Suggestions: Haha, none.

Absolete, I understand you don't want to, you may be lazy, whatever, but include it, please. It's not a hard one to put in. I know you understand the rules in general, but I needa be safe. Declined until you throw that in.
Oh damnit, whaaaatevs. It's on my other account and I forgot the ID for it, so I'll list it right here.
Favorite animal is a cheetah. Rubbing your car's engine with cheetah's blood is a good tactic before races, I be sure to buy it by the gallon and save money.
I don't see anything else. Maybe my double all nighter eyes are reducing my sight, but either way I can't see anything else.
Start yourself off in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Lester looked off his roof, aiming his pistol at a swooping pigeon. Those things tasted nasty now, but damn, they were big and slow. Easy to shoot. He grinned devilishly as the bullet went straight through the pigeons skull. The trajectory and the angle of the shot was perfect. The knock back the pigeon suffered, and it's previous momentum, sent it flying right towards Lester. He grabbed it, falling backwards. By the scruff of it's neck, he pulled it back inside. The other animals probably heard the gunshot, and were heading towards him now.
"Only seventeen shots left..." He mumbled, groaning. When he got to his last six shots of his revolver, he'd have to go out. Too look for more bullets. Or, at least, a new weapon. He pulled out his scalpel and started skinning the birds body. The head was disgusting, and probably contaminated, so he didn't bother with it. After at least an hour of gruelling work, he was ready to throw it into the stove. Luckily, his lab had a gas powered stove. And, seeing as it was a lab, used by many different scientists of different expertise, gasoline was easy to find.
He had the bird cut up into multiple parts. It was a big one, even with the mutated change in size. Not all animals got bigger, though. Some even got smaller. He was lucky pigeons got bigger, or else he would be starving. They would be impossible to hit, and would fill him up less. He was cooking them separately, and salting them afterwords to preserver them. Lester wiped some sweat of his face, and wished for air conditioning. It was a hot summer.
** Assuming you're in your parent's house at town...
Sorry for the sudden find too, I want to have an awkward bonding moment where you teach her to shoot or something. LAWL. *
Adrianne looked both ways, a slight glance. An overturned military humvee lay overturned in the middle of the street, several other cars surrounding it. The front of the humvee was destroyed, it's whole front cabin just metal slag. A corpse lay splattered against the ground, blood reaching over ten feet away. Well, it wasn't exactly a corpse. More of a heap of gore and red stains. Several crates were stacked outside of it, some broken, some perfectly sealed. Rushing behind a truck, she settled her improvised microphone pole in her hands.
A flock of massive ravens stood perched on the fence behind the humvee, a ghastly sight. Their beaks were covered in the remains of humans. Holding back her gag reflex, Adrianne jogged to the supplies. She glanced both ways again, before flipping open an intact crate. Three guns were situated inside, barely even intact. Two were nothing but metal, the third slightly rusted and it's handle destroyed. She looked around, spotting a somewhat clean rag not a few feet away. She wrapped it around the .44 magnum, surrounding it with a hair band that lay on her wrist. It was somewhat comforting, the gun. Several clips lay in the box as well, and she grabbed three. Inspecting herself, she frowned. Upon closer inspection, shoving the clips into her pants waistband would keep them comfortable while rendering them immobile. The remaining crates were filled with various canned foods. She emptied over seven canisters into her pack. They clanged, but weren't too loud.
The opened crates held common items such as clothing and shoes. She rose to her feet, sighing. The birds spotted her, and rose into the air as a gunshot flew through the air. She gasped, her eyes wide as the moon. All of the birds flew directly at her as she dropped. Luckily none hit her as she rose, but she had no time to react. Her instincts told her to run... and that's exactly what she did. Her mad dash flung her across the street as the birds circled. A few seconds of pecking and she would be reduced to ashes in the wind, bird meat. She screamed for help, for some sort of guidance. "Help me, damnit! **** you, birds! Ahk!"
Reagan sat in the old car, driving on the chaotic street. She was driving in a car she found along the road, still running with some blood on the doors. No big deal, she'd seen worse. She swerved a flipped BMW as she checked if she still had her necklace. Sighing, she saw a small dog on the road, looking at an uprooted tree that was lying next to the road. Normally, Reagan would've has sympathy for the lost puppy, and taken it home or to a shelter. This wasn't normal. The puppy turned it's head towards her, to reveal bloodshot red eyes glaring at her. It opened it's jaws to reveal a pair of way to big teeth that were snapping at Reagan. "Sorry Pup." The tiny dog ran towards her with impossible speed that didn't match the little paws.
Reagan's mouth was in a grim line. When the car had passed over the puppy, she couldn't help but feel sorry for the little critter. It couldn't battle the virus. It's just a bump in the road. Not a demon puppy. Reagan had to remind herself that if she didn't kill it, it would most likely kill her. Shaking her head, the motor suddenly lurched, spluttered a bit before dying. "No! NO! Please, not here!" Reagan stared wildly around her while trying to start the old car again. She punched the steering wheel in defeat when no reaction came. Taking her backpack, she hopped out of the old Hummer that was battered and now completely splattered in blood and pieces of animals. Her army boots made a dull sound on the asphalt.
Reagan was in Vancouver. At least the hotel sign had been torn apart a bit and said 'COUVER HOTEL' now. Reagan had wanted to head OUT of the city not get trapped in it. It was silent and it unnerved her slightly when another letter of the hotel fell to the ground. It now said 'COVER'. And Reagan was intent on finding cover, it was dangerous to walk outside like this, and Reagan knew she would encounter an animal soon enough. Suddenly a gunshot filled the air, and judging by the loudness, it was quite near Reagan. Reagan's first instinct was to take her own weapon: A Kimberly Stainless Raptor II that only had about 20 bullets left after the encounter with the dog the size of a dinner table. Humans wield guns. Not animals. Humans! Reagan didn't care about making noise, if there were people left, she needed to find them before it was too late. She set off running towards the sound, the hope of other immune people on her mind.

“I was thinking that work is like fertilizer in that I'm glad it exists; I just don't ever want to get stuck in it.”
Lester heard a voice. At first it didn't register - but damn, it was definetly a voice. Grabbing his weapons, and securing his gloves and mask, he ran to the front door. You can never be too safe... He mumbled, and opened the door silently. Luckily, nothing was attacking him directly. Off in the distance, however, he saw a bunch of the ravens. The on that had toxins in their talons. He gritted his teeth. Those bloody things hurt a lot. He knew from first hand experience. Loading his gun of the one extra bullet he shot earlier, he jogged off.
Blindly running, he hardly noticed he toppled over something. He still wasn't anywhere near the Ravens, but he didn't hear any growling. Readying his gun, he aimed it at the thing he tripped over. He was surprised to find it was another human - probably not the one screaming. That one was probably getting attacked. He bit his lip, and told her to hush. If she made any noise, the ravens would come to them. He signalled towards them, and ushered her to follow him.

Adrianne shrieked as the man tripped over her. She flung herself up, as the ravens circled overhead. She gasped, clasping a hand over her mouth. She grabbed her gun from the ground, shivering. She aimed it at the ravens, almost dropping it. She barely inched along with him, her whole body in a state of terror. A raven flew at her as she swung out with the pole in her right hand, the gun in her left. Worley almost smiled in relief as her makeshift weapon tore into the bird's mass, smacking it to the ground. She quickly stomped it.
Returning to the newfound figure, she was actually glad to have found someone. She stayed very close, not caring if he wanted space.
** Awh sheyut. I fail oh so terribly. I suppose it was my urge to post before I went and peed, as I was holding it in. HAH. Sorry, Chatix! My bad. ;P I just assumed it was me because I had tripped trying to run, and you "fell" over someone. My bad. ;P *
** You can decide. I don't really care. I'm content being in the background, hoping someone will walk along to my graphics shop or browsing reddit. I dunno, I'll go snip. *
Reagan almost screamed. Here she was, not having seen a human for over a week, when suddenly a random guy decided to act all calm and run into her! At first she was shocked to look up the barrel of another gun, but then again, he wouldn't shoot her, would he? When he motioned her to shush, she frowned in annoyance. Drawing her own Kimberly Stainless Raptor II, she followed the stranger. Her army boots only made dull thuds on the pavement, nothing to be heard if you didn't concentrate. And the ravens were cawing so loudly, Reagan guessed it was about one and half dozen of them, circling or perched. As they neared the corner, the sounds of the other human were audible and Reagan suddenly felt the need to shoot all the ravens, but then she wouldn't have any bullets left. "****." She breathed as she accidently kicked an empty can, making quite much noise. Please, please, please. You didn't hear that.
Oh you so funny. Makes me think of the time my cat once slipped off a counter and hurted his whiskers. Mr. Cat was a good cat, y'know? He lived a pretty long life. 18 years. Got put down last weekend, no lie eh? Oh boy am I going to cry. That damn cat was no good, but I still loved him. Oh god no... that started hell week. I had been bullied at school a lot, and everyone made fun of me. It sucked. Philadelphia sucks. Everything sucks. I started getting into basketball, been shooting outside of my school, when a couple of guys who were up to no good, started makin' trouble in my neighborhood. Got in one lil' fight and my momma just said, "you're movin' with your auntie and yer uncle in Bel-Air"

We now have a signature! Checkit!
Absolete, for the general idea of having animals take over.
Voicelessbard, for creating the signature!
Favorite animal is a cheetah. Rubbing your car's engine with cheetah's blood is a good tactic before races, I be sure to buy it by the gallon and save money.
I don't see anything else. Maybe my double all nighter eyes are reducing my sight, but either way I can't see anything else.
Ahk!"

LOL, Chatix.
This good enough? :wink.gif: Post = attached *
