A crackling noise rang out, as everyone's comm devices released loud, static, hissing sounds. Suddenly, some of the comm's quieted, and a voice could be heard on the other side. "Atten-on. With that, the comm devices shut off, without another sound.
Furius jumped out of his seat, and almost printed to the front cabin, where Lucas sat in the pilot's seat,
"Tell me you heard that," without waiting for a reply, Furius ordered, "We have to get this thing in the air, now. Shireena and Locke are in deep **** right now."

From there, he turned again, and covered the others' retreat using his sniper rifle.
((Hugs has a sniper rifle too))
((Also it would seem like TheCyan, Zmax1 and Crafting have stopped posting.))
Asun watched the not too subtle point towards the wife.
"Generalise? The human soldier already admitted to her crap shot anyway."
The radio interrupted the rest of his chatter.
"I've played this game before, two words... sounds like... Death run"
Asun sat down in his chair again, the engines roared and threatened to abandon those still on the ground.
Rentra tore the material around the hole away, throwing the scraps away next to her. The bullet was quite deep. which was unlucky. When Shireena reported over the radio, Rentra quickly glanced at it before continuing. Opening her kit, she took out what she needed.
"Why did we shoot him in the first place?" Rentra muttered, more to herself. Rentra took out her equipment and with it, managed to fish out the bullet without inflicting more damage to the tissue that had been slightly damaged. Sighing, Rentra set to work on it.
Furius popped off his helmet, glad to get some fresh air, even for a little while.
"Well, uh...I-I don't know. Garren here wanted us to take a civilian for questioning, I assume, and Dawn here," he gestured to the blonde human in the corner, "Thought it would be fun to have some target practice, I guess."
Furius unclipped one of his doubly-explosive grenades, and started tossing it from hand to hand, probably much to his comrades' horror.

" You all heard that, I hope. Everyone on the shuttle, let's go! " Garren ordered, taking a seat again. " Luca, take us back. We're getting them out of there. "
((Unless Neil gets back from where ever he is, I propose a mod to time shift to the next battlefield ~ unless someone has major character development they unfold))
The shuttle made it's way back to the city. Even at a distance, one could see the damage done by the monsters. Buildings on fire, smoke coming out of their windows. Chaos took over big parts of the city as people ran for theirs lives. Batarian soldiers desperately tried to get the situation under control, to no avail. They were disorganized, the chaos kept them scattered. Those who could help urged the surviving citizens to safer parts of the city, areas the monsters had yet to reach. Those areas, while safer, were still somewhat dangerous. Single monsters would often break through the soldiers' defenses. Citizens pushing and shoving, trying to get to safety, some looking for family members. The area was at disarray, and the soldiers struggled to maintain whatever order was still under their grasp.
Though most of the military personal was busy handling the situation on the ground, some remained alert for an aerial threat. The shuttle took AA fire, making it a rough flyby as the shuttle shook violently with every near - hit. Fortunately it didn't take too much damage, and the Batarians ceased fire once it reached the city and lowered it's altitude. Perhaps they stopped firing out of fear of hitting their own buildings, or maybe they ceased to exist. Whatever the case, the team was now flying safely above the chaos.
" Commander, this is Garren. Give us your exact location. It's a little crowded down there, over. "
Rentra had succesfully patched up the Batarian's thigh, healing the tissue with her powers and bandaging it. Afterwards, she had cleaned all the blood away and had tried to coax him back into the land of the conscious, but he was still out.
As they flew over the city that was in complete chaos, Rentra stared with slight curiosity at the sight below. Turning to Garren, she couldn't help but ask while she pointed at one of the monsters.
" What are they actually? "
(( She hasn't seen zombies yet. ))

“I was thinking that work is like fertilizer in that I'm glad it exists; I just don't ever want to get stuck in it.”
" Our ship's core seemed to have been leaking radiation after the crash. Batarian teams went in to investigate, and well.. you know. They started turning into.. into those things. Nothing a bullet to the skull can't handle, but as you can see, the bastards overwhelm you. " he finished, turning away from the Salarian, he tried to contact the commander again.
" Commander, this is Garren. We are flying over the city, give us your position, over. "
(( He's still open for more questions. I don't mean turn away as in " don't talk to me ", hah.. ))
Dawn sits along the seats, staring outside a small port window. She unlocks the air-tight seal, and cranes her neck downwards. She props her sniper onto a safe position on the window, and zooms through her x8 scope. Measuring distance, altering her sights for wind power, elevation, and several other factors. Two feet of a set-off and her shot was flying through the air. Two men were just saved from a violent death.
Scrambling to their feet, they look around them to see nothing. No cause of the green mans sudden death. Running off as another group approaches, the men don't make it far.
Dawn keeps staring at the massacre. There's barely any resistance left, and most are on top of buildings fighting hand to hand with the creatures. It seems not even the roofs are safe. Intelligent beings, or somewhat intelligent.
Furius clipped his grenade onto his armor, and stood, gripping the rails on the shuttle's ceiling. He reached down into his seat, and grabbed his helmet, slipping it on his head, hearing the familiar pneumatic hiss as it bonded with his armor. Hopefully, none of the AA hit the shuttle. That would be bad.

Dawn looks down from her scope with saddened eyes. "I'm sorry. I didn't join the Alliance to do what I did. I joined to fight for the right cause." She looks down her scope and takes another shot. One more added to the pile. "I'm not Dawn anymore. I'm changing that. **** these mutants. **** these Batarians. You two can trust me. I promise." She aims down her scope, firing another shot. Even without calculating proper terms her bullet rings true, clipping the shoulder of a mutant. Another life saved.
Garren hears Dawn's rambling in between trying to contact the commander, and simply shakes his head. It's what she should have been doing from the start. It was hard for Garren to understand her. Their lives were too different. He was raised on pure discipline and military training. He was trained to put his emotions aside, even his hatred for them. These humans, Dawn especially - were too emotional. They let their personal problems interfere with the mission.
" Prove it. " he said, bluntly. Though he hated most humans, he knew what they were capable of, and had respect for them. It's just a little harder for a human to gain his trust. No matter what Dawn did, he'd never fully trust her, but he could respect her.. IF she proved herself.
"I plan on it." Dawn stares through the window, pulling back the bolt on her rifle. She fires another round, and does the same. Snapping a clip out of the rifle, she tosses it out the window before reloading. Plenty of ammo. More than enough. She would spend a bit rescuing people.
Furius sighed inside his helmet, and said, "Now I wish I had brought that sniper rifle I made," Furius turned to Garren and remarked, "Remember the X-200, Garren? You used to get as much time with that on the range as possible."

" Mhmm. Good rifle. " he replied, no real emotion, or even facing the others. He simply stared out of the window, trying to locate the commander.
(( Short post. ))
(( Garren isn't necessarily a mean person, well, he is, but he doesn't always means to. Imagine his voice and personality a very serious one, showing very little emotion. When he talks, it's usually very short replies, ect. You CAN get him to smile and laugh though, it's difficult. ))
Asun looked out the porthole he could see several Batarians flagging their craft trying to get evac, Asun simply waved back ~ it was the least he could do.
"I have to wonder, where does this end? Surely we don't have the means or ability to fly around in this tin can for all eternity and these thingos are invading the land with ferocity like sun fire."
Asun laughed as he watched a civilian climb and jump several buildings to only break a leg on landing badly on a concrete roof. Another group looked like a family or indeed a small group of friends trying frantically to barricade all sides of the house simultaneously as "thingos" tried to pour in.
"So engineer, tell me what sort of situation causes radio failure?"
"Anything, really. Distance, radiation, extreme weather, or the person you're trying to talk to got shot to hell. Obviously our suit radios cant broadcast through mass relays, so I have to scrap together some jerry-rigged radio. That someone will have to carry. That someone will most likely be me."
