RP IS BEING REMADE. THIS THREAD IS DEAD. DO NOT POST IN IT. IF INTERESTED IN IT, KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR THE NEWER ONE.
Hello there, and welcome to Orchard!
This RP is all about survival, and standing the test of time. You, along with the other members, will be founding a grand civilization! It will begin in medieval times, and progress all the way to the space age, and beyond! You will start out as a small camp, and work your way to being the strongest, most advanced civilization on the world, and maybe someday, in the universe!
If you plan to RP here, please also know that you must be active. If you are not, you will be left behind, and I may even take control of your character, unless you give an explanation for your absence prior to leaving. Also, this RP requires you to speak English well enough for others to be able to understand what you are saying. Even for those of you who do speak English as a first language, I expect proper grammar and spelling. The forums provide a spell check. If you see that little red line under a word, right click it. [Obviously, people on mobile devices can't right click, so just let me know, and you'll be excused. :tongue.gif:] While there is no penalty for bad spelling or grammar, it may be what keeps you from being accepted in this RP, or what keeps you from moving up your rank in the RP.
Various members of the community are required. A civilization of all warriors will starve. A civilization of all farmers are defenseless. In order to survive and thrive, we MUST have a balance of all required positions. As such, this RP will NOT get going until there is at least one person leading each branch. Below is a list of the different parts of the civilization, and the leaders of that branch. Each will require a leader, and I will choose who leads each branch.
____________
While we are founding a civilization, that doesn't mean you can't go off on adventures. I mean, by adventuring, you may find a rare new object, which will help us discover something! However, you must get the okay to explore from your leader, or else you will not be allowed to return. Our first priority is to get our city up and running, so, that will be the first task, unless you want to live in tents forever. ;P
Due to the fact we want to advance quickly, time will be sped up, and the founders of the civilization will have an unlimited life span. However, explaining how you get somewhere is still essential. You don't carry 64 wooden planks in a backpack and put them together to make a house. You carry planks from point A to point B, make a frame, nail them together... You get what I'm saying. Explain how you do something, don't just do it. Besides that, though, you CAN create things within 1-2 posts, if it makes sense.
Use OOC. Simple as that. If you don't know what it is, you don't belong here. If I see you not using it when you should 3+ times, you're out.
Don't let this die out. Keep posting. However, if you are posting with somebody, and they don't reply, wait for them to reply, don't just move on. Post at a moderate speed, that way the RP keeps moving, and it gives time for others to catch up.
I will make events and other such things for you all. We don't want this RP to get boring. If you have ideas, PM them to me.
No God-modding, ubering, metagaming... Etc.
Don't make a perfect character. Nobody likes that.
You are mortal. If you find yourself facing 3 skeletons, a creeper, and a zombie, you aren't getting out of that unharmed. Please be realistic.
Time warps are only allowed to be made by me or the mods. If you want a time warp, to pass a certain amount of time, you should only request it if you cannot RP the time to pass.
If you decide to leave the RP... Leave a post as to why your character is gone. Whether you kill them, or have them run away is your choice.
Deaths are allowed. Deaths of other characters must be either allowed by me or the dying character. characters whom have died are free to create another character, but they can not be a clone, or a family member of the original.
My Commands, as well as the mods, are kinda like law. If we tell you that you should change your character, either reason maturely or just change it. If we say your character dies, then make a new character (this is of course a rare event). And if we think that a certain event is not acceptable, change it.
All OOC comments pertaining to the advancement of this RP are to be PMed to the mods. Do NOT post any OOC comments that may spoil it for others- RPers and readers alike.
Be kind and courteous. No arguments in the thread. If you have a disagreement with somebody, take it to a PM. Don't fill the RP with your rage posts.
If you read this, put something about apples your bio. If it is not there, you will be denied immediately.
Single-sentence posts are NOT allowed. There is absolutely no reason why you should have one, and, if I WILL keep track of how many times you post them. Three strikes, your out.
I strongly recommend third person typing. First person RPing just sounds awkward here, since almost everyone uses third person. It keeps people from confusing the names and characters.
Magic is allowed, but it must have negative effects on the user. Also, the more powerful the spell, the larger the effect it should have on you.
Note: If all mods disagree with a decision I make, then they overpower me. They may "veto" whatever I had intended to do. This also applies to players. If the majority of players disagree with what a mod says, they overrule them. If the majority of players don't like something that I do, then the mods will vote whether to overrule my decision or not.
I will choose how many mods there are based on the number of players in the RP. I will also choose mods based on how much a player contributes to the RP. If you write 2-line posts that never advance the plot, don't expect to be a mod.
While this is mainly realistic, it will contain components of minecraft. Redstone exists, though we will not see it for a while. Zombies, creepers, and skeletons are all threats, but only in certain areas. Along with these, there are also realistic enemies, such as thieves, pirates, etc, as well as fantasy enemies, such as giants, dragons, etc.
RACES: In this RP, other races WILL exist, but not as a playable race. You ALL must play humans. If you try to put yourself as any other race, you will be automatically denied.
+ Both me and mods can accept your application. If none of us respond after 2 days, it is then up to the members to decide. If the majority of the other members say yes, then you will be accepted. However, if you post anything asking about being accepted BEFORE the two days are up, you will be automatically denied.
Name: (RP characters name.)
Age: (RP characters age.)
Gender: (Boy or girl?)
Appearance: (What do they look like... This should include their physical appearance, as well as any clothing. Do NOT list equipment here!)
Personality: (What are they like. Good? Evil? Friendly? A Loner? That stuff goes here.)
Skills: (What makes them special? What can they do others cant?)
Equipment: (What do they have with them when they arrive. This should make sense. If you are carrying a lot, have a satchel. If you have a sword, it should probably also have a holster. Details are essential here, and could be the difference between getting accepted or not. )
Bio: (Who are they, what has happened in their life, and why are they here now. I DO NOT want to see any basic minecraft "woke up on a beach with no idea where they are from" stuff here. You have a story, even if your character can't remember it.)
One Liner: (A brief description to describe your character on the members list. Should include name, trait(s), and job title. EX: Phil, the rude, flirty chef. [If I see anybody make Phil, the rude, flirty chef, you will be denied. Originality please. :tongue.gif:])
Suggestions:(What do you think I should add, change, etc.)
BE DESCRIPTIVE! I don't want to see any Bio's that look like this:
"Bill is from a village, but he ran away, and he is here now."
I also don't want to see generic characters. Make your character stand out... Why does he or she stand out among others in the civilization? Details are your friend. If it takes you 3 days to create your character, that's fine. Better to spend 3 days making your character, than spending three days getting denied and retrying for a bad character, right? [Obviously I don't expect you all to spend three days making characters, it was just to get a point across. :tongue.gif:]
Name:
Collin Blaze
Age:
22
Gender:
M
Appearance:
Physical-Collin is about 5'8" tall, and weighs 130 lbs. He has short, shaggy brown hair, thin eyebrows, and a small amount of stubble. His narrow eyes are a bright blue, which stand out on his slightly tanned skin. He has a sharp jaw, and a somewhat pointed nose. He isn't very muscular, but isn't a twig, either.
Clothing-Collin wears both black pants and a black shirt, covered by a light Grey coat which reaches his waist. He has a pair of boots which are the same shade as his jacket, and reach his shins. He wears a necklace with an emerald pendant on the end of it, as well as a bracelet given to him by his grandmother for luck when he left.
Personality:
Collin is somewhat reserved, and only talks to people who approach him. He isn't very fond of social outing, however, he will go out every once and a while. He prefers to focus on his work, yet would put it aside for people he cares about. He is friendly, yet tends to make enemies quite often. He prefers to talk things out rather than to fight.
Skills:
Collin is great with words. HE can make up a speech on the spot, can talk somebody out of doing something, and generally is a great public speaker.
Equipment:
Collin carries a pen and quill, along with some paper, in a blue satchel which he takes everywhere with him. He also carries a small dagger for protection, which sits sheathed on his right hip. He also carries a hooded mask in his satchel, though he rarely puts it on.
Bio:
Collin was born in a small settlement, South of the future site of the town. He was never really strong, and tended to be picked on by other kids. His father was a lumberjack, and as such, was ashamed that his child was so weak. Because of this, he sent Collin away to live with the army when Collin was 11. It was here that Collin was taught to be such a great public speaker, learning from the general, who made speeches up on the spot when they would leave for battle. The general understood that Collin didn't want to fight, and actually told Collin that he was the same when he was younger, but he never had anybody to tell him otherwise. When Collin was 17, it was this General who told Collin he should leave the military, and follow his dreams. Collin thanked him, and left that night, traveling far to the West, to a larger town, filled with people who shared his dream.
In this town, Collin met his best friend and mentor, who taught him many new words, helped him get over any fears he had of public speaking, and proper use of language. He told Collin that even the largest of armies can be talked down by a great speaker, and told Collin he should only resort to fighting when his life is on the line. After many years of living with this friend, Collin was a confident, well known speaker. Nine months after Collins 21st birthday, his friend became the leader of the town. Collin was so proud of him, but quickly forgot about that, when his friend sent an army to attack a small settlement to the West. Collin was furious, and asked his friend why he sent such a large army to such a small town, when he could have talked things over. His friend simply told Collin "You don't understand." Before having him escorted out.l Collin, not wanting to stay there longer, set out into the world, deciding to create his own town, which would all live by his rules.
Five months after setting out, Collin found the perfect spot for his town, smiling to himself, but quickly stopped, and sat down, realizing in his quest, he never picked up any followers, and now has no idea where he even is. Sighing, he began collecting some tree branches, hoping to at least make a small tent to stay in for the night. He looked around, and noticed something peculiar. The area was filled with apple trees. He laughed, and smiled. "Guess if this area ever does become a city, I have a name." With that, he stomped his foot, and yelled into the air. "Greeting travelers, and welcome to Orchard!"
One Liner: Collin, the reserved leader and proficient speaker.
Suggestions: None, of course. =p

**Is there guns? Sorry for the short application though. Probably my shortest yet. :ohmy.gif: **
Name: Pvt. Austin Sarver
Age: 24
Gender: Male.
Appearance:
Austin appears sullen and weak, yet prideful. Dirty brown hair about two inches long covers his head, matched with his thin eyebrows. An army uniform accompanies him, the dull beige uniform patched with a symbol. It was his squad's symbol. Pouches cover his torso, filled with small assortments of personal items. A single strap hangs from his shoulder to his waist, holding a large satchel onto his back. Combat boots of a heavy brown rest upon his feet.
Personality: Austin's military discipline has left him respectful yet knowing. He knows when to act and when to stop. Austin appears thoughtful, often sitting alone and thinking.
Skills: A devoted follower of the art of combat, Austin has intense listening skills. He also is an incredible fighter with hand to hand combat.
Equipment: In his pack, Austin carries an assortment of hoods. Most of it is rations and water, yet he also carries matches and rope. Along these is other goods, such as strips of cloth, medical equipment, and basic survival items.
Bio: Skipping his boring, regular childhood, Austin was simply a popular boy. Although well-toned and muscled he was kind, earning him a fair share of friends. Several of which followed him into the military, enrolling with him. Upon being deployed to handle a massing army of rebels, causing trouble. Upon deployment his squad rolling towards town was interrupted by a raid of sorts, resulting in his squad killed.
A faulty wheel had been placed, and he was among a handful of survivors. His squad of four held off the rebels, as even more disasters occurred... yet this time, natural. A tsunami was brewing, wildly hitting the coasts. It enveloped his squad, as well as his enemies.
Awakening with his possessions some time later, he lay on a sand bar some ways off of the beach. It was a bit far of a swim, yet he choked to life, spitting salty water over himself. "Of course. Of god damn course..." was all he could chant, over and over as he gathered his wits. This is where he is left off, climbing a tree of some sort. It yields fruit, specifically apples.
One Liner: Pvt. Austin Sarver, ex-military survivalist.
Suggestions: Tell us some more, if there is guns, what technology has been developed, etc..
[Haha. xD Glad you saw that, Neil. =p And... Yeah, kind of am... I really liked that RP, and know others did too, so... Re-made it pretty much. xD Edited bits of it, though... Couldn't have a clone, now could I? ;P
And.. Absolete... It says in the first paragraph that it starts in medieval times... So you need to edit your character to fit that... xD]
[EDIT: Also, vMpee, sure. :3 Might as well try him out here. =p Worse that can happen is I ask you to make a different character, right? =p Though... In the RP, remember to watch spelling and grammar. =p You misspelled "another", and didn't capitalize an I in that question. xP]
[Double Edit! Edited an underline in the first paragraph so you can see it's in a medieval setting for now... Since it apparently can be missed. ;P]
Con artist..? Hmm... In my mind, that fits in the entertainment, or religion division. Entertainment is pretty obvious, and religion... You control the hearts and minds of a large portion of the city. xP Though, you always could suggest your own division, too. ^_~
Okay in the role-play I start with nothing except my bundle so it's like just a new character with starting equipment
Name: Vincent Shore [ Is it possible for me to be a researcher? It didn't say who chooses it. I'd like to be a researcher as I just love researching stuff ]
Age: 20
Gender: Male :smile.gif:
Appearance:
Vincent looks like, basically, just a nerd. He has short dark brown hair, it's like a bowl filled with melted dark chocolate. He is short in height but his hair lengthens it a bit more. You see, his dark brown hair is a bit spiked, due to his researches in the lab gone wrong. Of course he got used to it, and so did his hair. His scalp makes it spiky. His teeth is also white, as he recently found with an unknown reason. He doesn't share secrets. Vincent always wears grey lab aprons and pants because he doesn't want to see dirt on his clothes.
When exploring, however, he carries a bundle or a bag you might say, which holds flasks, liquids, tools, substances that could be helpful and a portable bench for work. Although a nerd, he is very bright and incredibly intelligent. His wisdom is not famous as he denies being quite famous in a young age.
Personality:
Vincent's personality is quite average. He absolutely loves science and basically anything about researching. He is easily angered when something starts good and slowly turns bad. He is quite dangerous when mad as he laughs and he can actually brew acidic potions which can kill people. But that rarely happens as there is a way to calm him. The only way to calm Vincent easily is to ask him something to do with researching.
Skills: Skills are very important to Vincent. And he even knew that himself. So with that, he clearly thought that if he learns many skills, he can be one of the best peoples in the world. The most favorite of all he likes is brewing potions. He had found many recipes to help people.
He always practices the skill of potion making because he thinks potion brewing can make everything. It can make dirt, air or even insects. He is one of the most quickest potion brewers too.
Equipment: When exploring a certain place, he always brings a bundle in case something happens. It contains a lot of researcher's tools which are, sadly, secret. It also contains a knife, a portable workbench, computer, packets of pencils, flasks, unknown liquids and substances which could alter the problem. He is very protective of his equipment.
Biography:
Vincent was a kid.. He completely has no friends. That is because he has memorized almost everything what the teacher had said. From English punctuations to Geography's dust particles. Every recess or lunch breaks, Vincent asks if he could play with them. And they responded terribly, 'No you nerdy!'. Always the same response, whenever. He was a quiet shy boy who usually cares.
But because of the way he was treated, he was no longer the ordinary Vincent Shore everybody knew. He had secretly built a lab in his room, in which he does potions that 'accidentally' makes you horribly sick. He puts them in his classmates' drink bottles. In the inside, deep inside, there is still some good.
And whenever he gets in trouble, he denies it with the most convincing statements you could ever hear. 'Who can beat me? The master of knowledge' he thought.
Also once when he was experimenting with fruits, he incredibly made an orange have life. Although it kept swearing so Vincent poured acidic potion over it. He wanted to try it on apples, but he likes apples. So he basically learned two things from that; A new recipe to make a fruit have life and apples are the best fruits ever. (( Something about apples for me was kind of hard lol ))
Mainly he just loves exploring and what he finds. Whenever he feels bored of exploring, he takes out his portable bench from his bundle and start working on experiments. He prefers doing it somewhere hidden and not out in the open. As he is protective of his stuff. He originally does it on top of trees.
He is over protective of his stuff because the one thing he did which he can never forget, he left his acidic potion on the dining table and went to the market to buy some foe for his mom. Meanwhile though, their parents were so curious to know what it is... And so they opened it and it started bubbling then overflowed. When Vincent came back, he took his stuff and left the house. That house was a nightmare to him. And that's a disadvantage of Vincent
One Liner: Researcher Vincent Shore, the Master of Knowledge or if you don't like that, the potion-brewer. But I'd like Master of Knowledge and Potion-Brewing
@vMpee, it looks pretty good, but... Theres just some stuff I wanna clarify before I accept it or not... xP
1. Just making sure you know this is medieval, so there wouldn't be science materials that are around now, like beakers and test tubes, and knowledge of chemicals yet. xP You can discover those later, but, for now, you're more likely to be discovering new metals and stuff like that.
2. Is English your primary language..?
3. I suppose potions could be allowed, since magic is, but... Like magic... Potions should be a rare thing... I'm not sure whether I like the idea of potions or not yet... I'll have to think about it...
@Neilsaur
Haha xD Well... I suppose not ALL the leaders are needed. And... You could still be a scientist, while leading agriculture... Agricultural science is important too! Or maybe lead a different division, yet have a large interest in Science? Well... Just wait it out... Depending on how vMpee answers, we still may have an opening for Science... Not saying that in a mean way, either.... It just all depends on how you answer those questions vMpee... >.<
(( Feo sorry I was on the computer and it's COLD and my hands are numb xD I usually type on the iPhone notes app. And copy and paste it here. Also my character was modified from cleric to researcher lol. And my character is in the medieval times.. Like an alchemist ))
((potions as in mini liquids in metal :tongue.gif: and no it is my second language. I'll try my best though!))
It's cold? LUCKY! xD And I see xD Well, it does say magic is allowed, if you would want to lead the health care branch as a cleric. :3 That's just an offer, and you don't HAVE to do it. xD And, okay, that makes more sense now. Still though, it sounds like you would be leading healthcare instead of research as an alchemist, since you make potions and everything. xP Just an offer. If you did that and Neil headed Science, you guys could work together too... And now I'm rambling. xD
Summing it up, You sound more like a healthcare person due to potions and alchemy, though, if you truly want research, let me know. Besides that, it seems pretty good, and you're in. Just let me know if you would be okay with leading Health Care.
(Health care people do their own research too. They're in charge of creating new medicines and poisons, where as researchers have to create new weapons, tools, etc, and rarely touch medical advancements.)
EDIT: For it not being your primary language, it's actually pretty good. And... I'm glad you clarified that... :3
(( Yes I think I'd like to lead the HealthCare :smile.gif: I'm cleric in most games xD and I live in Australia so it's pretty dang cold lol. Thanks when do we start))
Okay, I'll add you to the OP. :3 and... When we start... I'll decide when based on how many applications we get by the time I wake up. xP (2:15 am here.)
And... Alright, Neil. xD
EDIT: Jeez, we're taking over the first page with OOC. Haha.
Okay, I'll add you to the OP. :3 and... When we start... I'll decide when based on how many applications we get by the time I wake up. xP (2:15 am here.)

Off-topic: 2:15? Wuss. It's 5:20 AM here! :tongue.gif:
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I'm always happy just 'cause there isn't a reason to be sad.
Don't take this as there is nothing that could cause sadness. I just mean it's pointless to dwell on it. I mean, depression is so boring.

Bio: (Who are they, what has happened in their life, and why are they here now. I DO NOT want to see any basic minecraft "woke up on a beach with no idea where they are from" stuff here. You have a story, even if your character can't remember it.) Seth was an idol at school and at home. He was always the one you would go to if you needed help with your homework, or you needed tutoring for an upcoming test. Same goes for when he was at his house. He was a great boy, but was destined to have tradgedies in his life. His mom died while working on a very important job. A bridge that connected Morocco ( Sorry if theres no countries) with Muslim Spain. She fell when her harness snapped while putting a long strip of iron for the arch. His father attempted to get over it, but could not. He jumped off of the same bridge. Seth was left with noone, but he wasn't born with his skills for no reason. He could survive on his own. He planned on creating one of the biggest city's in the world, in honor of his mother and father. If only they could see him now, for his dream was about to become reality.
One Liner: (A brief description to describe your character on the members list. Should include name, trait(s), and job title. EX: Phil, the rude, flirty chef. [If I see anybody make Phil, the rude, flirty chef, you will be denied. Originality please. ]) Seth the prepared worked.

=================================================================================================
=================================================================================================
RACES: In this RP, other races WILL exist, but not as a playable race. You ALL must play humans. If you try to put yourself as any other race, you will be automatically denied.

APPLICATION OUTLINE

Example application: (AKA, mine.)

I would also like to point out you said everyone is immortal, but at the same time one of the rules call you mortal. :wink.gif:
And..
Since it apparently can be missed. ;P]

Feck. I'm really uninspired right now. Give me a while to think it over and I'll edit this.
Suggestions: Back story? :smile.gif:
Now I don't want to make a scientist, as I want this roleplay to start fairly quick.
@Neilsaur
It just all depends on how you answer those questions vMpee... >.<
~DED
((potions as in mini liquids in metal :tongue.gif: and no it is my second language. I'll try my best though!))
~DED
And... Alright, Neil. xD
EDIT: Jeez, we're taking over the first page with OOC. Haha.

Off-topic: 2:15? Wuss. It's 5:20 AM here! :tongue.gif:
Don't take this as there is nothing that could cause sadness. I just mean it's pointless to dwell on it. I mean, depression is so boring.

Personality: (What are they like. Good? Evil? Friendly? A Loner? That stuff goes here.) Generally good to those around him, being rude is not in his nature.
Skills: (What makes them special? What can they do others cant?) Seth has no special talents except for being an amazing constructor.
Equipment: (What do they have with them when they arrive. This should make sense. If you are carrying a lot, have a satchel. If you have a sword, it should probably also have a holster.
Details are essential here, and could be the difference between getting accepted or not. ) A satchel of various tools that includes: A hammer, nails, and glue.
Suggestions:(What do you think I should add, change, etc.) Nothing this looks like a very instresting RP.
