Your Characters Age: 16 (Even Though He Tells Everyone He Is 18 :wink.gif:)
Your Characters Skill: James is an excellent archer since he had to fend for himself from a young age using only a bow. He also loves woman and the good ole W & W.
What You Character Looks Like: He is a handsome young man with long, wavy golden-blonde hair. It shimmers in the sunlight and especially in the summer. It looks almost brownish in the winter and when it gets wet. He is skinny since he eats very little. He has large muscles though. Many people in Golden Port were astonished by his biceps and his chest muscles [It felt more RPish than six-pack :tongue.gif:]. He has a nice tan. Not too golden but not too pale. His cheek bones are nice and prominent like his chin, but his face is smooth and square. He keeps his quiver with him at all times as a keep-sake and to feel safe.
Auto-biography of your character: James was born in the log cabin that his family built near Lake Quernia in Craftvale. He lived in the forest, but occasionally his family went to town to buy things. When James turned 5 his family thought it was important for him to learn to go into town on his own to buy hay and feed. He left for several hours and came back to his home burned down by the Raiders that lived in the forest. James, too young to understand fully, recovered a bow and 12 arrows that his father taught him to use several months before. He also found a calf that had run off in just enough time to not be spotted. James now had to rely on instincts. He milked the cow every day and went to town to sell the milk for money. Eventually though, when James was 9, the town was attacked. James did not know of this. The next day, James discovered the destroyed town. He fell to his knees and sobbed for hours. Only until his only friend, Bernard the Cow, came and nudged him did he stop. He vowed to avenge his family and the town. He spent the next 7 years killing off Raiders and learning to survive and make arrows. When Bernard died, James did not cry, he skinned him and made leather out of the hide. He also took the meat to cook. He buried the skeleton in laurels and dirt. He placed a river stone marker with the letter B on it. He never told and never will tell anyone that he secretly took a horn that he uses to remember Bernard and made a dagger out of it. He used all the leather from Bernard to create his sacred quiver. He then decided to move to Golden Port the next month when he was 15. The next year he received a letter.
Why Do you Want To Join: I love role-playing beyond belief ((If you can't tell by my a-:cool.gif:) and I would love to participate in this.
Characters Reaction To Letter: James was hunting game to sell at the market when a man approached him. James though this was a Raider and quickly shot. The stranger had already moved and quickly yelped, "Don't shoot, I have a letter!" James lowered his bow but kept his Cow-Horn Dagger at ready. The man introduced himself and Mr. Grandtree. He said he needed James to help on a voyage to recover trasures beyond belief. James didn't believe him until he put 2 and 2 together and remembered this man's father had discovered treasure on a lost isle. James listened to the man's story about the ship and the island. "Will you come?" asked Mr. Grandtree. James stood there for several minutes rereading the letter and keeping a straight face. Then he smiled and replied, "Of course I will." and gave Mr. Grandtree a firm handshake, "See you tomorrow."
Ulrich chuckled, "Oh, I'll tell you when we get to the restaurant, Cole. But, if you are coming along, we must hurry back. He and the crew are waiting."
((Hate to make useless OOC posts, but I think that Grandtree missed my second app on page 17, with the secret word in it.))
If you did, sorry. Just didn't see any reply to Riengo. :ohmy.gif:]
Sasha sat next to Grandtree, looking through her menu. She giggled a bit at his comment, but was too focused on the food in the menu. She normally didn't treat herself to food of this cost and quality, and, had no idea what to order. She turned slightly, and brushed Scott's arm. "I've never really had 'fancy' food like this before... How would you feel about ordering for me..?" She said, smiling innocently.
"Oh, but of course," he said, wrapping an arm over her shoulders and starin down at the menu. "Well, I believe I am getting some shrimp and oysters and crab claws and lobster tails... Perhaps we can just split that up since it ought be enough for three or four people. Though, if you are hungry, you can have your own order of each. Price is no object. Oh, steak too, and a bit of kalimari. Perhaps some shrimp... Waiter did you hear all that?"
"Iron trap," she said, tapping her head and smiling.
[I] Damn shame I already have a gal with me, that one is smart and sexy. Knockout combo. I would just eat her up... Wait, red eyes. Eyes on the prize...[/I] he thought. "Alrighty then, I believe we have all ordered, so get those started and If we want more food we will call you over. Don't forget the wines, quick, it's like a desert over here."
Cole stood up, looking at him, with a questioning face. "He's there, at the restaurant? And what crew? I don't understand what you are trying to say..." he muttered, following Ulrich.
[Mr_Grandtree]
[Okay. :3 Just making sure. ^-^] [Lunch Legion]
Leaning her head on Scott's arm, Sasha looked up at him happily, smiling like a child in a candy store. "That... Sounds delicious!!!!" Sasha put her hands together, and wiggled a bit in her seat due to excitement. This was going to be the nicest meal she had ever eaten. She looked up at Scott, smiling. "Thank you SO much!" She then noticed how childish she was acting, slumped a bit in her seat, crossed her arms, and turned her head in the opposite direction, trying to hide her blushing face. "Erm... I mean... Thanks, boss..." She tried her best to remember that there were others around who would soon trust her with their lives, so, she sat back up, and did her best to act professional. She gave Scott a quick look, as if to apologize for her behavior in front of the rest of the group.
((Scott, did you get my last post? Kinda need Natasha to respond.))
[Specifically Feokris, but the rest of the Lunchin' Legends as well.]
Joseph couldn't help but burst out laughing about the childish woman in front of him. It wasn't that he was laughing at her in specific, but it was so loud, so obnoxious, and so unexpected he couldn't help but notice it. He wiped his eyes, and apologized profusely.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry. That was just... Sorry." His eyes darted to the side, feeling awkward.

Sasha looked across the table at the man laughing. "Hey! Why're you lau-" Sasha cut herself off. She eyed the man for a second, and then put her fist in her left palm, while gently saying "oh." "Wait a second... Is that you Josh-err, no. Jo...Jo.... Joseph! That's right! I remember now! You're Joseph! The man who likes coffee! I accidentally knocked over your coffee last night! I'm still sorry about that, by the way... I remember you mentioning your invitation, now that I think about it! Good to see you again!" She smiled happily, crossed her legs, and stretched her hand across the table, to shake his hand.
[]
"Ah! I knew someone here looked familiar. My memory isn't the greatest. Great to see you again." He laughed and took her outstretched hand and shook. "Sasha, right?" He asked, letting go. He leaned back, and laughed again.
"In fact, I'm getting some more coffee right now. I love the rich, bitter taste. don't ask me why." He shrugged, sitting straight again. "I'm really pumped for my food. I haven't eaten Fugu in ages."

Your character's skill:
Highly skilled in the use of ranged weaponry, though not as great up close, he still manages to fight well. He is known for being very comprehensive, learning all sorts of skills with ease, especially when it comes to combat. He's able to become skilled with weapons only recently intruduced to with seemingly little effort. He's a natural. Despite his abilities in combat, he prefers to sneak around the enemy, discover it's weakeness, and exploit it. Uses speed rather than brute force.
His abilities to remain undetected are extraordinary, making him a great scout able to gather reconnaissance ahead of the main group with little risk of being spotted. This is what he's done nearly all his life, often being forced to stay behind enemy lines for days, sometimes weeks waiting for the right moment to strike down his enemies. Perfecting his ablities during long lasting wars. This has shaped him into a great survivalist, able to survive in the harshest of environments. He uses his very surroundings as a weapon. Using the vegetation as not only camouflage, but for poisons and herbal medecines. He can even make, or.. invent useful tools and weapons out of what others would discard as garbage. He's not good enough to make a career out of it, but he considers himself a bit of an inventor.
He's fast, agile, enduring and patient. He can pick locks, and his understanding of mechanical objects has helped him repair many things in the past. He's no expert, but he knows a thing or two. He's a strategist type, but has no real leadership experience, he prefers to work alone. Outside of combat, he's very kind, very respecful, except for his sarcastic and often cocky attitued. Though he's never been a great conversationalist.
What does your character look like, I should get a vivid mental image:
Nathan has black, clean cut hair. He has blue eyes, but they're more of grey looking color. He has a short, but pointy nose. Has a very soft face, never having to shave as he's never really had any facial hair. He's very light skinned, almost pale, and tall, standing a little over six feet. Athletic build. He wears a dark brown, long sleeved shirt with a bear fur jacket or coat over it ( Bear's head/mouth as hood ). Wears a black facewrap around his neck, and over his face when in combat. Dark brown pants with bits of green ( Camouflage, basically. But it looks more like normal clothing. ). Leather belt/braces around his waist for equipment. Very lightweight, dark brown, leather boots. Basically, lightweight, leather armor for scouting.
His equipment; He carries a small, very light backpack with everything he needs. That includes a water canteen, food, such as fruits. A rope and such things needed, or helpful for surviving his travels. As for weapons, he carries a shortsword by his waist, a dagger hidden by his right boot. Bow and arrows on his back, as well as a very light, yet effective shield ( Carried on his back ).
Autobiography of your character:
Born into a rich family. Nathan had everything he ever wanted. But he wasn't happy. He hated all the gifts. He hated being treated differently just because of his family. He wanted to earn the respect, not be born with it simply by chance. He would often ask the soldiers around him about their adventures, since his father, who was incharge of a large portion of the military in the city, prevented him from joining. He gathered all the knowledge he could from their stories, and at the age of 17, left his home, armed with nothing but the knowledge gathered throughout the years.
He became a scout, quickly developing the skill to travel quickly, and through harsh terrain. He traveled all over, exploring, and discovering not only far away lands, but his incredible fighting abilities. With his skills, he helped countless people, even getting involved in wars. He never joined sides, but he made sure certain people lived.. or died. Completing self asigned objectives to ensure the well being of the people on both sides. He is responsible for shaping the tide of battle during many wars, changing the outcome, and with it, history.
Many see him as a threat, and have sent soldiers, mercinaries and assassins after him, but they've never been able to take him down. Evading them with ease. He's done more damage to them than they could ever hope to inflict on him. From stealing their equipment, to destroying their camps and disrupting supply lines, even killing them when he absolutely has to. He knows all their tricks, having learned them from his father's soldiers when he was a kid. It's almost become a game for him. His name is well known up North, though few have recognized him around Port Golden. Now he's traveled south, struggling to adapt to the warm climate.
Why do you want to join this RP:
I know that Grandtree is a great RP player. His RPing makes sense, and I like it when things make sense. I want to have some fun RPing, and well.. I LIKE PANCAKES!
Post an example of your skill at RPing by stating your character's reaction upon receiving the invitation:
Nathan's travels brought him to Port Golden, for no particular reason other than " seeing the world ". He sat on a crowded boardwalk. The sounds of chatter filled the air, continuous, noisy.. Nathan hated it. But as much as he hated it, it was the perfect place for someone like him to hide. Unfortunately, though.. this wasn't one of those times.
" Aye.. You Nathan Mars, aren't ya'? Raise yer head, now! " a guard ordered, grabbing Nathan by his face, he forced him to look at him. " Hah! Lookit who we have 'ere! Get up!" the guard ordered, turning his head to face his partner, only for a second, which was all Nathan needed. Nathan put his hands up, but not all the way, only up to his face, and stood up. The guard was foolish enough to continue holding him by his face, and once Nathan stood up, he grabbed his arm, pulled the man closer, and in one quick, fluid move, broke his arm. The guard screamed in pain as his partner stared at him, his eyes widened, shocked, and caught completely off guard. Nathan had already disappeared into the crowd by the time he reacted.
It all happened so fast the world seemed to move in slow motion for just a few seconds. " Get them while ya' ca -" The faint shouts of desperate merchants could be heard as Nathan rushed passed them, running through the crowds. Through and over merchants stands. " Hey, watch where you're going! " Some complained, but most were too slow to even catch a glimpse of him running by.
He slowed his run down to a jog, taking deep breaths before coming to a complete stop. He took a moment to breath, but his worried look quickly turned into a smile. Laughing quietly to himself, he was glad to have gotten away once more. But his silent celebration was intrerrupted. A man put his hand on Nathan's shoulder, tapping on it twice. Nathan turned around, unsheathing his sword in one quick, continuous motion, and put his sword to the man's neck. But it wasn't a guard.. no, it was someone completely unexpected. A man wearing very elegant clothing, with piece of paper in one hand, the other behind his back. His face expression was rather emotionless.. blank, despite having a sword to his neck. " Sir. " he said, handing over the piece of paper and slightly bowing before walking away as if nothing had happened.
Nathan lowered his guard, putting away the sword, and read the paper. The paper mentioned riches beyond imagination. Something Nathan wasn't interested in. He fronwed, but smiled when he read the word " adventure ". He had always wondered what awaited pass the vast oceans, and this was his chance. I'll be there....
(( It's meh, but as you know, Grandtree, I have been very busy. I pretty much rushed this little by little when I had time, especially the last two paragraphs. Not to mention I had to make a character all over again after accidentally deleting the first one. Sorry. I will be active in the RP, but there might be days where I'll be away until late at night. ))
(( Another thing is, and if I get accepted.. exactly where is everyone? At a restaurant? Is it one Nathan can just walk right into? If so I guess I'll come up with a believable way for him to magically find everyone there. ))
(( And lastly, I gave him a lot of skills and zero disadvantages, but trust me, he too will have problems. I'll make sure of that. ))
(( Last thing ( For real this time ), sorry for any mistakes, I'm sleepy. Oh, and he has things similar to another character of mine, like the bear fur coat and survival skills, but he'll be much different. ))
(( Another thing is, and if I get accepted.. exactly where is everyone? At a restaurant? Is it one Nathan can just walk right into? If so I guess I'll come up with a believable way for him to magically find everyone there. ))
[Yup. We're in a restaurant right now. If you want, something you can say is that maybe Sasha owes you money? xD If your character would be the type to gamble? Or maybe say my character was supposed to pay you for something but never did. xD Since she's supposed to be semi-famous in the area, you could say there was gossip about her being in the restaurant, and you decided to check since she was being elusive, and you (not knowing she was also going) wanted to get what she owed you before leaving? I dunno. Just offering a believable suggestion to get involved here. xP]
[Neilsaur and all y'all folks at the table! xD]
"That's perfectly fine! And, yeah! It's Sasha!" She said, laughing with him. "You'll have to let me try some... I've never actually had coffee before..." She shied away a bit, but turned back to face Joseph. "and... What's fugu? Some kind of fruit?" She blinked innocently. In all honesty, if it wasn't pub food, she had never had it before.
[Too lazy to put big green text because I'm still talking to the same people :biggrin.gif:]
"Fugu is a rare delicacy to find in restaurants. It's basically a toxic blowfish, but the toxic parts are expertly removed by a chef who has actually been trained just for fugu. It's usually really expensive, but damn, it is tasty!" He exclaimed, pretty excited for a meal. He would've gone to this place a lot more if he knew what they had on the menu.

"Mmm..." she moaned, licking her lips. "Looks like we have plenty of everything now," she said, winking at Scott. She then proceeded to play with the man's hair while he spoke to Scott's newest ****. She managed to hold back any mean glares in front of Scott though. Besides, this Joseph guy was worth some attention.
<Scott>
"Scott kept his arm tight around Sasha. Cute was just it, I pegged her perfect. Childlike sometimes too, just too cute. Those eyes though, red, yet somehow still cute. There she sits, talking of coffee at a bar, all grown up, yet still a cute little child. he thought, fading in and out of the conversation. He managed a few looks at the waitress, and a single wink, which was not only accepted but returned. She came back and set all the drinks out and proceeded to pour glasses of wine for everyone. Scott picked up the first red wine and had drank it all before she had finished filling the next two. He held up the empty glass and cleared his throat from the liquid. "Ehem, more please," he said in an innocent tone. She smiled and looked a bit bewildered, but complied all the same. Scott sipped it and set it back down. He wanted to invite her to sit with them, but thought better of it. When Sasha finished talking he leaned over and whispered, "Ya know, I think you still need more wine. Besides, I have a few more mint leaves in my pouch, so no worries about the breath later," he said, joking about the leaves. They were about to eat so the wine was he least of their breath worries, besides, he liked the taste of a girl who drank wine.

Oh, and he has things similar to another character of mine, like the bear fur coat and survival skills, but he'll be much different. ))

Ulrich chuckled some more, finding humor in Cole's suspicious behavior.
"Dont worry my friend. All will be explained when we reach the restaurant."
With that, Ulrich began walking to the Golden Wing.
[Sorry Neil, I am a bit off lately. You can understand why... To clarify, I don't want pity or sympathy, just understanding that my time and writing may not be at the high level I usually strive for.]

<Scott>
Cole shrugged. "Alright... although I still don't get it," he muttered. He followed Ulrich to the Golden Wing.
