Ariel overhears the conversation between Ei and Annie, but he keeps his head down, pretending to dust himself off a little more after his fall. The matter spoken of is troubling him though. He did know a bit about Annie's heritage, and practices her kind got up to weren't exactly considered 'nice'. He considers Annie's final words "Tonight, the open will not be pleasant" and feels that there were probably no truer words spoken. He looks at Renard again, gives a nod,
"Something tells me we should follow these two for the time being."
Boris is already alongside Jack, Both of them pounding the swords with a series of strikes. Each strike Boris makes releases a roar and a flash of Cyan light from the bone, while continuing to increase Boris's speed and strength systematically.
"Buttons." Buttons shared his name with them, but he didn't look away from the fight, and didn't quite know why the pony was referring to themselves in the first person.
"I never really thought about naming myself in this condition." The slug said, not moving his eyes from the fight either; "But I guess you can go ahead and call me Sluggy. Good a name as any. God knows my human name doesn't suit me anymore." Sluggy then notices Trixie reaching over him and across the seat to pet Buttons. "Well that's just rude...."
Buttons accepts the fact that most people wanted to pat him or rub his belly and, even though getting a pat usually felt somehow demeaning, allowing people to pat him most of the time was fine because, well, it felt good. But there was something about a pony patting his head with her hooves - which was basically like a human trying to do it with their feet - that just didn't sit well with him. He put up with it for a couple of seconds then had to give the pony a small kitty hiss.
"Please don't."
Trixie raises an eyebrow at Buttons and then retracted her hoof. "Oh, Sorry there!" Trixie exclaimed to Buttons, and to a lesser extent, Sluggy. There was an awkward silent for a few seconds and Trixie sighed and looked at Sluggy, she tensed up a little and didn't really know what to say next.

Apparently this is what some of my friends think of me here:
Annie is gratified by Ei's willingness to help, yet she must decline.
"My others are... hunting. They are doing the task only I can perform. They must finish before I rest. If only I could stay the sun... But not even that would work." She breathes deeply, regarding Renard and Ariel. "We should go. Find housing. Tonight, the open will not be pleasant."
Ei nods.
"Yeah, that might be a good idea. I think I know a good place to spend the night." Ei says as she starts walking down the street, still holding Annie's hand.
"Hey, Annie. Mind telling my what that task is? Maybe I can suggest something helpful."
Eventually, the four arrive at a large mansion, partially built into the plateau.
"This looks like a good place to spend the night, does it not?"
As the bolt of energy from Bone strikes the sword, Jack staggers back, narrowly avoiding being hit by the burst of energy it releases on contact; though he didn't see where it came from, the crowd's cheering and Boris praising his weapon of choice clued him in. The sheer force of the energy, coupled with it taking Jack by surprise, nearly floors Jack again, but he manages to maintain his balance despite the slurry of thrown fruit covering the ground around him. With the knight's attention drawn to Boris by the bolt of energy, Jack aimed to get a few more strikes in, though that plan was halted when the knight shifted his shield to block him.
Jack knew that if the knight intended to keep him from reaching the sword, there would be little chance for him to manage to get around the shield, which is why he considered it a lucky break that the knight's focus was next drawn back to Annie, resulting in Jack no longer being blocked. His luck continued to grow as Annie and the Knight locked blades, the latter's seemingly getting caught in the steel of the former's. Whatever reason Annie had for fighting the Knight, their melee gave Jack enough time to rush up to him, reaching the Knight as his shield became stuck in a field of energy that was projecting from Annie's body. With the sword wide open, Jack releases a flurry of strikes against what runes continue to persist on the blade of the Knight's sword.
Boris is already alongside Jack, Both of them pounding the swords with a series of strikes. Each strike Boris makes releases a roar and a flash of Cyan light from the bone, while continuing to increase Boris's speed and strength systematically.
As the two of them work together with Annie, the crowd becomes divided, some areas chanting for Boris, others chanting for Jack, while other chanted support for Annie. But since the knight was taking damage and not much else at the moment, no one wanted to show it support. I'ts a mob thing. A good thing was, now Jack had obtained some followers, no one bothered to throw fruit at him anymore... or maybe they just ran out.
After relentless attacks, the final rune on the sword shatters, accompanied by a blast of energy which knocks everyone, including some unfortunate members of the crowd, off their feet.
The knight itself finally materialises, and takes a look at it's sword. It lets out a loud roar and throws it straight at Annie, while equipping the massive warhammer it was carrying on it's back instead.
The knight starts walking towards the three, it's heavy footsteps accompanied by small shockwaves that would knock those that get too close off their feet.

Jack, backing off from the materializing knight after regaining his footing he lost during the initial energy blast, states, mostly to himself, "Guess there'll be more to this fight than I thought..." Already at range, he continues to create more space between himself and the giant knight as he prepares to begin once again the process of discovering what his opponent is vulnerable to. He begins this tried and true process with a tried and true method of attack:
He removes Thunderbolt from his back, loading a heavy bolt designed for improved armor piercing into it and taking aim at the knight- a fairly quick and easy task, given the size of his target- before launching it.

During the whole storytelling thing with Betty recalling everything that had happened to her since she apparently came from another time, another concept unfamiliar to Chisille, she decided it was a pretty good time to groom herself. She occasionally stopped to check around in case there were others coming along, but when there were none she resumed cleaning her teeth, stretching her wings, nipping at itchy spots and all that sort of stuff that you would do when waiting.
Soon enough, she stopped when she realized they were focusing on her again. Ezmond was looking her in the eye... just staring at her. She responded in kind, just looking back into the man's eyes, trying to figure out what he was doing. Just like Betty though, it was making her feel rather uncomfortable to the point where her tail was twitching. The spike on the end of it almost willing to strike on it's own accord it seems.
The little staring contest they had had ended, during the time Ezmond walked away to think about things Chisille thought about what that was all about. She had no idea. 'Maybe they are suspicious of me... they don't like me because of what I can do or something.' she thought, still trying to straighten the confusion about humans in general and defaulting to the 'they hate me' way of thinking.
That was when she started to get another headache. The constant blur of words and sounds from BOTH Betty and Ezmond began piercing into her brain. It hurt, even though she didn't want it to. Chisille didn't want to upset anyone, but she couldn't help it. Both of her front paws pressed down hard over her ears to cut out the noise as much as she could.
Lyudmila nods.
"Yeah, staying out at night is never smart, especially not here. Shall I lead the way?"
"Indeed!" Ezmond agrees. "That would be a splendid idea!"
Betty really hated it when her dad talked like that, but she smiles at Chissy anyway. "Everything is gonna be fine now, Bub. We'll find a nice place to stay for the night. Heck, we might even be down right lucky enough to stumble on a house with others we've met before inside, just by some gosh darn lucky random convergence of events or something like that, right?"

Don't go look'n at me like that!
Lyudmila smiles.
"Very well then. I know of a place an... acquiantance of mine has found. It should be a suitable place to spend the night, so please, do follow me."
Lyudmila leads the way through various alleys until they arrive at a large mansion partially built into the plateau.
"Ta-dah! Should be good, right? Let's go inside and check around, shall we?" Lyudmila says as she opens the door into the mansion; one of the side doors that would probably have been used by the servants of whoever used to live here.

"Something tells me we should follow these two for the time being."
Renard regarded this notion with amusement. He chuckled, and then the chuckle gave way to a wry laugh. He'd almost been killed a few times by this girl, and now he wanted to follow her. Angels will be angels, he thought. Then he laughed more, remembering that the only thing that came from his resolve to find his friend was to be treated like a mere toy. Still powerless to save anyone, after everything that had happened. He couldn't stop laughing; it was all so funny. After all was said and done, he followed the 3 after all-- but he trailed behind and never spoke. Ariel... Maras... I think something's broken inside of me.
"Indeed!" Ezmond agrees. "That would be a splendid idea!"

Once the pair of farmers had finally stopped flapping their jaws, Chisille took her paws off of her ears. With the quick actions she took, she only had a very minor headache to deal with instead of one that would go on for several minutes. With the stars coming out across the sky they were now talking about where they should go for the night. Chisille silently agreed with this course of action.
Betty assured her that everything was going to be alright. A simple "Ok." escaped Chisille's mouth as Lyudmila suggested to the group a place they could stay. The path that Chisille took to follow them was a little different to the others. She wanted to be more on the lookout for anything that could come after them even though it was dark and she could see as much as she wanted to. She spotted a group of barrels and boxes that she could use to vault up onto one of the rooftops. There she would look around for danger, then launch herself over to the next roof the group was passing by, spreading out her wings as wide as they could go.
This kept going until they all reached the mansion that Lyudmila had lead them to. She sailed back down to the group, somewhat keeping her distance from them all thanks to the latest arrival as she peered into the mansion from the back of the group.

"Just because I am alone, it doesn't mean I am lonely..." Silas nervously does not meet Annie's gaze.
Annie may be sincere (and Silas does pick up on that), but he scratches his head a bit, wondering about whether it'd be a bit weird. "Okay, I guess..." Silas takes Annie's hand.
Annie takes Silas close to her, placing one hand in his, the other on his midriff, her cheek rests upon his chest. Throughout the house a tune begins to play, deriving from no one location. It is strikingly similar to the sound of someone humming a melody. The pair move in time with the melody, be it somewhat awkward at first, though they soon find a harmonious rhythm and dance slowly for quite some time. As the tune, Blueberry Hill, comes to an end, Annie lifts her face to gaze into Silas’s eyes. She is content.
“Don’t worry…. This won’t hurt.”
As she whispers these words she places one hand on his forehead. Silas feels sleepy. His eyelids become heavy. He is filled with calm as his vision turns to darkness…
…Silas awakens feeling comfortably numb. He is on his back, yet enough light exists for him to see he is on the bed and in the same house as he was prior to losing consciousness. Annie is sitting beside him. She is dressed in a grey robe. She has one hand on his shoulder. She is… void of emotion.
“Rest.” She orders him softly. “I must leave now. If you ever wish to seek me, seek me in your heart, and I will be present for you.”
Then, while Silas watches, Annie fades into the night.
Sunset Shimmer nodded, she respected Vernon's decision to disregard the question. Her light ball casted a dim white glow on the walls of the tunnel and the general area around it. "What are you doing here anyway...?" she asks, confused.
Vernon smiles at her question, humored.
“I’ve spent a great deal of my life in Waise. At the moment I’m setting out to achieve what you are, one way or another." Vernon then looks favorably at the ball of light in her hand. It does well to assist in guiding their path through the darkness.
He gives her a wink as they continue their trek through the tunnel.
Annie’s hand is feeling limp in Ei’s, she now and then staggers her step as any child deprived of sleep would. She speaks delicately, barely audible.
“I would ask for help if I could…. But you are not akin to man.”
As they enter the mansion, Annie looks around as though she is already acquainted with its layout. She gives a small tug on Ei’s hand, and when she does so Annie vanishes for close to a minute then reappears, her hand still in Ei’s.
“I must feed. I must rest in private. Don’t let the others see me. But don’t let me sleep until I say it’s okay.”

The knight itself finally materialises, and takes a look at it's sword. It lets out a loud roar and throws it straight at Annie, while equipping the massive warhammer it was carrying on it's back instead.
The knight starts walking towards the three, it's heavy footsteps accompanied by small shockwaves that would knock those that get too close off their feet.
As the swords departs the knight’s hand, Annie is already gone. The sword hits the ground and nothing more.
Annie is now standing some distance away. Her interest is now on Bob. She stands in his path and grabs him by both arms, preventing him from continuing to wander in circles as she inspects his person with great scrutiny. This analysis continues for a small time before she quickly looks over her shoulder, as though a sound had caught her attention. Her eyes fall directly on Bottons. She glares ominously at the cat for a moment before directing her attention back to Bob. She completes her inspection by placing her tongue to his lips, uttering a few small words in his ear, and then stepping from his path.
She watches on smiling as Bob continues to wander in circles… for now.
“I’ve spent a great deal of my life in Waise. At the moment I’m setting out to achieve what you are, one way or another." Vernon then looks favorably at the ball of light in her hand. It does well to assist in guiding their path through the darkness.
He gives her a wink as they continue their trek through tunnel.
After a while of walking through the tunnel, a light can be seen at the end of it, not too far away. As they leave the tunnel, they find themselves behind a prayer altar in a ruined church. The roof has collapsed, as have several pillars inside the building. Remains of a campfire can be seen, and some crates line the walls, while the exit seems to covered in rubble.
Annie’s hand is feeling limp in Ei’s, she now and then staggers her step as any child deprived of sleep would. She speaks delicately, barely audible.

“I must feed. I must rest in private. Don’t let the others see me. But don’t let me sleep until I say it’s okay.”
Annie's limp hand causes Ei to worry. Was Annie dying due to not accomplishing her task? Did the Order somehow manage to hurt Annie while Ei wasn't paying attention? Did something cause Annie to go ill? Annie's remark doesn't help Ei much, as there was much that could be meant with her remark about Ei not being 'akin to man', some things more... unique than others.
Ei however is quite surprised when Annie acts as if she already knows the layout of the mansion. She doesn't have a lot of time to be surprised however when Annie suddenly vanishes after tugging Ei's hand! Her sudden disappearance causes Ei to panic and run around searching for Annie, and she loses all colour once again in the process.
When Annie finally returns after what seemed like ages, Ei calms down again.
"Where did you run off to?" Ei asks after pulling Annie into a room that doesn't have Ariel or Renard in it if either followed them. "I was worried!"
When Ei finally calms down, she nods in response to Annie's statement.
"There's some bedrooms up in the attic, that would work, wouldn't it?" Ei says as she leads Annie up to the attic, and opening a hidden door revealing a hallway with a few more rooms.
"Should I stay with you, or do you want a room all to yourself? I'm perfectly fine with anything, but please do tell me if you have to vanish again. If I had a lifespan it'd have been shortened now, I really don't want to lose you."

"Anyone feel like praying?" Vernon asks in a less than candid manner.
He studies the situation for a time, then turns his attention to Ace. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but removing the rubble from that exit wouldn't exactly be of any great effort for you." The remark, of course, is clearly more of a suggestion, and he then allows Ace to make their decision. He also suggests that Uyir and Jord search the crates, while he invites Sunset to join himself and Ki in searching the other accessible areas of the ruins.
Tiefling. Once proud members of the most prestigious races of the world, now shunned and exiled for their deeds, Tieflings are individuals that signed a contract of power with a patron of darkness. The blood of a demon runs through the veins of every Tiefling - a demon that seeks the destruction and demise of the civilized world. Due to their inherited blood, Tieflings are notorious for commiting some of the worst crimes in history, constructing the general perception of Tieflings as spawns of evil. Without a distinct town or nation to call their own, they roam the lands of the world, seeking either refuge or acceptance in urban environments where they can effectively hide from the menace of the mob. A Tiefling can easily be recognized by a pair of prominent horns creeping out of their forehead, crimson red skin, yellow or purple eyes that lack an iris, as well as a scale-covered tail that can reach up to 6 feet in length (approx. 185 centimetres).
Boreal belongs to a sub-branch of the race of Tieflings called the Shadowlings. Individuals of the Shadowling tree bear the encumbrance of lesser shadow devils, channeling their patron's existence in a very different manner where instead of horns or tail they possess a right arm and leg made of pitch black shadows. Their desire for carnage is much more controlled, and the members of the branch usually channel said desire in civil conflict. Their numbered communities can be found in confinement of the larger civilizations, where clans, ruled by a respective royal family, wage war against each other, with the sole prize being acreage and quenching their species' need for violence.
Appearance
Boreal stands at a massive six feet and six inches (two metres) of height. The menacing warrior strikes fear in the hearts of his enemies as soon as he uses his right hand to draw his weapon, exposing the darkness flowing within him. His facial characteristics on the other hand are much more contained. A pronounced jawline is covered by a stylishly trimmed beard, and thick brown hair trimmed around the scalp decorate the top of his head. A rather built physique hints towards a past of violence of war, and a few wrinkles on his face suggest he's about to hit his thirties.
Matching his decent height is a set of enormous plate armor. Now lightly rusted and lacking the bright finish of a thorough polish, the texture of the armor is martyr of the combat it has seen throughout the years. Below the set of donned armor, a comfortable woolen sweater dyed in gray sits above his skin, and below a pair of red trousers of the same fabric. The sweater features a hood furnished with thick fur for protection against the cold. The look is further defined by a large leather belt, tightly secured by an iron band.
Abilities
Apart from their desire for blood, Shadowling Tieflings possess a number of other traits that set them apart from the rest of the races. Their right limbs can be manipulated almost at will, allowing a member of the race to change their appearance and physical properties at will. The arm can be big or normal, it can be shaped into a weapon, a whip or a claw, or vanish and become plain air. Thanks to this trait, their eyes have also been adjusted to be able to detect and see through faux images and illusions.
In terms of skills, Boreal is a trained soldier. He's a master user of many different weapons, but he excels in close quarter combat with a glaive, his signature weapon, or a trusty longsword, which he draws instead of the glaive in tightly confined scenarios. His skill with the glaive is legendary among his people, and he is more than willing to prove it whenever fools doupt his skills or dare to mock him for his racial origin.
Special Weaknesses
Due to their inherited connection with devilish patrons, all members of the Tiefling race are extremely susceptible to divine magic, and the symbols of all clergies that defy the demons of the world in general. All churches are forbidden grounds to them; exposure to the simplest of symbols can cause heavy damage to them, ranging from permanently scarring their skin and bruising it to burning or skinning them alive, as their skin peels off on its own. This is also an additional reason as of why you'll never run through a Tiefling in a town or nation ruled by a theocracy - symbols and churches are in ambundance and might as well lie in the next corner they take.
Items they have
Apart from his heavy armor, Boreal currently carries no weapon with him, as they were stolen by him during an ambush of thieves on his way to Waise. Even though he didn't have them, he could still provide his assailants with a rigorous beatdown with his fists, but eventually they managed to get away with the sword and the glaive. He's still in possession of his armor, and a dagger strapped around his belt.

Ace nods and turns to look contemplatively at the pile of rubble, strolling across the room to get closer to it. They gently lay a hand on a particularly large chunk, allowing their magic to resonate through the pile to determine exactly how much stone is blocking the exit.
There is a bed in said room, which Annie rests on. She seems... exhausted as she glares at the roof from her back.
"Don't leave me." Her words are broken with pauses of heavy breathing, an effort to remain awake. "Don't let me sleep until I say it is time. I need raw flesh. Human. I need to eat."
Ei nods, and sits down on the bed next to Annie.
"Alright, I'll stay with you in that case. Though there is only one bed I don't mind sleeping on the floor if you'd rather sleep alone, I can handle cold temperatures, my home suffers from low temperatures anyway, hence the fact that I am warmer than most."
Ei smiles and listens to Annie's requests and her statements.
"I could arrange raw flesh for you to eat if you'd like, I know of ways to obtain some and you wouldn't have to leave this room! As for staying awake, I could just keep waking you up if you almost fall asleep, but maybe that's not the optimal solution, mainly because people tend to become grumpy if one does that..."
Ei sighs, and drops onto the bed next to Annie.
"The best way to stay awake is by doing something active, got any ideas? Something you want to do maybe?"
"Anyone feel like praying?" Vernon asks in a less than candid manner.
He studies the situation for a time, then turns his attention to Ace. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but removing the rubble from that exit wouldn't exactly be of any great effort for you." The remark, of course, is clearly more of a suggestion, and he then allows Ace to make her decision. He also suggests that Uyir and Jord search the crates, while he invites Sunset to join himself and Ki in searching the other accessible areas of the ruins.
Ki nods, and starts searching like an overly excited child searching for eggs at easter.
She smiles slightly, winking back and tosses her light ball from hand to hand, she assists Ki and him with their search of the area. Sunset doesn't answer his question though. "Waise is a weird place...I've spent less than a day here actually." she remarks.
The trio's search doesn't reveal much, other than that moving the Altar causes the tunnel they came from to either be hidden or visible depending on how far forward the altar is moved.
Ace nods and turns to look contemplatively at the pile of rubble, strolling across the room to get closer to it. They gently lay a hand on a particularly large chunk, allowing their magic to resonate through the pile to determine exactly how much stone is blocking the exit.
According to Ace's magic, the pile of rubble is quite large and widespread, as if a building completely collapsed there.
Fin looked at the wall from several hundred feet away, safely behind the cover of trees. Behind it was the town of Waise, the reason he had come there. The reason he wasn't going over and looking for a way in through the wall was because of a big amount of guards on top of it.
"*grumble grumble* Of course there's guards... I'm going to need another way in." Fin started walking around the fortress, hoping that there would be some group of trees near the walls, though he didn't see any. As he was about to give up hope he stumbled upon what looked like... A tunnel?(See ScorpionXR64's first post)
Not questioning his luck, he went into it to see where it headed.
Annie detaches from the knight and lands nearby. She is no longer ethereal. The roman armor is gone, replaced by her own white gown. The appearance of her skin has returned to normal, but she seems pleased with herself; apparently she has accomplished the task she sought to do.
Nevertheless, she is troubled by Boris as he runs into battle and the knight turns to strike him. At that moment she calls out at the knight in a thunderous and commanding tone that causes the ground and Colosseum to shutter, small areas of the arena floor ignite in flames –
“NO! YOU WILL NOT!”
Orson then jumps in his seat, and nearly falls out of it, but he gets control of himself and sits back down properly.
Buttons hold up one paw to have Trixie shut up, because he is suddenly captured by what is happening in the Arena. Annie is doing something to Bob!
"Oh crap!" he shrieks, covering one eye with the same paw in an attempt not to look at what will happen. "Please don"t hurt my body!" Just then Buttons shreiks again, dropping his paw away and stares back at Annie. "She's looking at me now!" He declares, runs a circle in his seat and sits back down; "What does this mean? what is she doing???"
When Annie then turns back to Bob and sticks her tongue on his mouth, Buttons sobs, "Nooooo... never without my premission...." He looks at Trixie and Sluggy for council. "Why, just why! What is she doing to meeeee??"
Orson then jumps in his seat, and nearly falls out of it, but he gets control of himself and sits back down properly.
"Nevermind, this little girl seems capable."
"Yes-yes, she most definitely is!" Revel confirms; "And please, feel free to get as excited as you want. That's what we're here for after all!"
"Let us be entertained!" He calls out to the crowd, who respond with a deafening roar of approval. While they yell out to agree with Revel, the arena - which was becoming darker as the sun begins to set - is suddenly lit up with a flashing spectrum of different colored lights as giant spotlights of different colors appear in the sky above the Colosseum.
Then a jukebox appears in the imperial box with Orson and Revel. Revel gives it a kick and 'We Will Rock You' starts to play out across the Colosseum.
"Feel free to pick a song!" He yells at Orson over the noise. "Just stick a coin in that slot on the jukebox and press the appropriate button. And don't worry, I know you have no idea what's going on right now!"
A bucket of coins appear at Orson's feet to be used on the Jukebox.
Boris is dazzled by the strange array of disco lights and unfamiliar music, but his momentary shock is overcome by his need to defend Jack as he uses the Bone to intercept its swing at Jack. The bone and the Hammer collide with a mighty boom. After stopping the attack on Jack, Boris uses the force of the impact to swing around and strike at the knee of the knight himself.
When they enter the house, Ariel takes a quick look around the room and watches Ei and Annie disappear on their own upstairs.
"I'm going to explore this place." He tells Renard, and starts walks down the nearest hallway.

Trixie took a look at the girl who looked at buttons and raised an eyebrow and did a sigh. "Eww.." she said in a disgusted tone. She then turned to Buttons. "Whats the matter? Why are you acting like this...?" Trixie asked in a rather concerned and confused tone.

The knight quickly brings up it's shield to block the bolt, which shatters upon impact with the tough shield. The knight then turns to Jack and moves in closer, ready to swing his Warhammer and turn Jack into a Flapjack
((OOC: They're not on the same side of the building as Ei & Co))

Meet Ashen the shoulder dragon!

Name
Boreal Scaradesh (Lord Boreal)
Species
