Silas, though Annie remains unseen, feels her hand slip into his as he walks along.
“Do you like the touch of my hand? Is my skin nice to you?” She asks. “It sure is nice to have a partner… isn’t it?”
Silas' normally hardened eyes twitch a little in reaction to Annie touching him. However, while it may be easily confused with a certain pleasurable emotion, it had a very different meaning when Silas was involved. To him, there was a certain melancholy emotion to the warmth of another person. Of memories long gone... of a place he dared not return, even in the sanctuary of his mind.
"Partners are... not my thing. The negatives of having companions of any sort far outweigh the positives by every possible measure. Having had loved and lost before, I find that the ignorance I had back then... it was a much better time than the broken shell I am now."

Orson, after doing pretty much nothing for a while, decides that the town is a deathtrap, with nothing to do there and no reason to come, but he came anyway to see if there was some hidden treasure or something, but deep down he decides that he needs to keep looking, his greed just won't let him leave without a single cent, plus he already tested his luck getting inside since the guards must have been stupid or something.
Orson then goes back to the church (if he wasn't already there) and sees that this is happening:
As the debris is launched towards him, Jack leaps out of the way, breaking into a sprint- or as much of a sprint as he is capable of in the snow- towards where he left his crossbow, taking a curved path in an attempt to keep as much distance from the source of the thrown chunks of tower as possible as he closes in on his ranged weapon.
Boris stands a little confused about the events taking place, since he sees a lot things being thrown around, but cant spot a single cause of it. Still, he is very impressed at the speed Jack moves, chuckling admirably as he watches him.
As Orson watches the ordeal play out, he tries to step out of the way of any flying chunks of rock or things of that sort, and considers helping Jack to gain his trust, which could be very useful.

As Orson is watching the commotion take place, he hears a small catlike voice speak up from behind him -
"Move."
Meanwhile, the average man in the light blue evening wear finally finds his ability to turn away from the wall, maybe just by chance, as he then starts staggering dazedly back across the street towards the church.
Annie’s final word claps like thunder for even Maras, Renard and Ariel to hear as the roast pork feast reveals itself to everyone as a rotten corps, the walls of the house shutter and the timber floor is carpeted in blue flames, burning the feet of everyone inside.
Renard briefly opens his mouth to make a snarky comment on Ariel's dietary habits, but suddenly, he stops dead in his tracks. It was subtle, but he could feel an intense surge of strong emotions in his mind. Sorrow? Rage? Or a mixture? Renard stood very still, eyes widened-- this wasn't natural. It wasn't him.
He gulped as the feeling began to culminate. "Do you guys feel--"
A single word resonated loudly throughout the entire room. 'No', coming from an unfamiliar voice. It was then that everything went to hell in less than a second.
The floor underneath them had suddenly burst into unnatural blue flames, Renard having not noticed anything else in the heat of the moment.
"Not again," he muttered, scrambling to his feet after having been knocked down by the impact. Renard glanced around the room hastily, looking around for his companions. "You guys alright?!" he shouted. He didn't want to think about any other possibilities; they had to be alive.
"You know, I was having that very same thought lately, Ly-Ly, and I've gotta tell ya, you might have a point! After all, that butterfly spell worked by speaking English, so I guess I can do things that way... I'm just not quite sure what I was thinking at that time to make it work. To be perfectly honest, it normally doesn't."
Betty hears the snap as well, but seeing she ain't as paranoid about every little sound around her, she only realized something had happened when lil Chissy jumped on over by her side with a little fright.
"Hey their little sweetie, whats all that drama about?" Following Chissy's line of sight up into the branches of the tree, Betty sees the other dragon as well. "Oh my O my O my, color my overalls a bright shade nasty pink!" Betty shakes her head with amazement. "Well ain't that just another dragon if I've ever seen one! And by golly, wouldn't ya know it - That there dragon is the splitting image of you, Chissy - Who knew that all dragons looked exactly the same??"
Betty doesn't waste any time though. She called on up to that cute little dragon right away. "You get on down here now, you little dragon cutie - no sense in hiding up there in that big ol tree, now is there?" She points to the food on the ground. "As you can see, we have enough charred bunnies for everyone! So get on down here, silly, don't be shy! We ain't gonna a hurt ya none."
Gwen's head snaps around, turning slightly farther than one would think it should. Slowly, she turns around, narrowing her eyes up at the new dragon, her fingers twitching as though being restrained from strangling them then and there.
She takes a few steps backwards. "Don't come down!" she snaps at the new arrival. "She trusts you, but I don't!"
Annie's new found hunger is persistent, yet she is also somewhat annoyed by Gwen's lack of trust since, at the moment, there was no substantial reason for the lack of trust, however she understood there was no current reason to find trust in the new arrival either. Nevertheless, she needed to come out of that tree, partly to satisfy the insistent hunger, but mostly to establish ties with this group in order to fulfill her plans. The puzzlement of this dilemma was illustrated clearly on her dragon face, but only appearing as wanting acceptance from the group, showing hope in Betty beckoning, hunger for the food, yet troubled by the discrimination of Gwen.
Her need to participate won the battle as she slowly began her descent, keeping a keen focus on Gwen, and periodically distracted by the charred Rabbits on the ground. Coming to rest tentatively on the lowest branch of the tree, she saddens her eyes as she regard Betty, Chisille and even Lyudmila with the question of reassurance that she may be kept safe from the advances of Gwen.
"Hungry..."
What Betty pointed out to Chisille about the other dragon seemed to be more and more realized as the truth the longer she stared at them sitting up in the tree. From the times that she had wandered the wilderness in search of... something... sometimes when she stopped to take a drink at a body of water she could see a pair of large green eyes staring back up at her. The first time this had happened, she thought something was about to snatch her up from beneath the depths and had run away. Whenever she looked back at that moment she felt ashamed. It had turned out to just be her reflection. Over time she had managed to have a good look at herself through the shimmering surfaces of various ponds and lakes, enough to know just about every bit of herself.
Indeed, she was looking at herself. Betty seemed to be treating the other dragon as if it was really her, or perhaps she was just this nice to all things she considered cute, like how Chisille was. Gwendolyn however seemed to have much harder feelings towards them, immediately putting forth her distrust in the new arrival. Chisille realized this was the second time in her life she had spotted another of her kind, and her excitement grew a bit more. The first dragon wasn't too friendly so she had learned to still be somewhat cautious, as with everything new in this world.
As Chisille walked towards the tree, the other dragon lept down from branch to branch until she was as close as she could get to them. She looked somewhat sad and longingly at them. "Hungry..." she had said. There was no doubt that she had come for the rabbits, the warm smell of meat radiating all across town by now. Something like sharing wasn't very high on Chisille's priority list, but they could easily spare some to her if they really needed to. 'It was a good thing she had bumped into some of the nicer humans.' she thought.
"You want food? Um, hello! You look so much like me! And can talk like human. Come... come down." she said with a mixture of excitement and anxiety in her voice. It took a little bit, but Chisille realizes since they are both dragons, they could speak to each other in their native tongue!

Orson turns around to see what this voice is, he looks up at his height so if the creature is small, he will not notice it until he looks downward.
Orson doesn't have to look very far, since the little black and white kitten responsible for the speech was sitting atop a railing. The kitten had a glower expression, eyes partly closed with drubbing disappointment as he jerked his head to one side, apparently requesting that Orson move out of the way. He was obviously blocking the kittens view of the action taking place with Jack.
"please..." the kitten added in a fed up catlike voice.
Meanwhile, Bob, still only known as the regular looking staggering man dressed in his bed clothes, was continuing to stagger dazedly toward the church, specifically in the direction of the action taking place, and clumsily brushed Orson's shoulder as he passed by.
When the little kitten saw this, he rolled his eyes at Orson and lowered his head in shame.
“But you know what the sad thing is, Ei? Do you know what I realized on the day I watched my mother die?” She yells, rises from her chair with her little hands clenched in fists of rage – “It was all for nothing! Because nothing matters! Truth belongs only in the heart of the believer! So there is no truth! There is no lie! There is nothing but the insignificant claims of the petty and pathetic lives of all of them – everyone – floating around on the same aimless breeze! I hate them all! I never wanted this life - I never asked for this life! I will have no part of it! - NO!”
Annie’s final word claps like thunder for even Maras, Renard and Ariel to hear as the roast pork feast reveals itself to everyone as a rotten corps, the walls of the house shutter and the timber floor is carpeted in blue flames, burning the feet of everyone inside.
Meanwhile, the group that had followed Vernon, accumulate on the shore of the island and he knocks on the door of the house, at last.

Ariel didn't believe he had completely pumped his stomach with forced vomiting when the thundering word "No" surprised the living daylights out of him. Already feeling a little dizzy from all the vomiting, he stumbled around beneath the pressure of the shock-wave and stumbled to his knees on the floor at the very moment the blue flames erupted from nowhere.
With a very loud and unmentionable use of profanity, he found himself on his feet in an instant, and what was probably by sheer instinct he had grabbed hold of Maras by the arm, dragging the boy behind him as he ran through the flames. When he got to the door he called back to Renard to follow as he used all his adrenaline induced strength to kick open the door. Outside, he collapsed with Maras into the snow, rolling around to extinguish any part of his clothing that had caught alight. Quickly done, he felt a sense of more urgency as he scrambled to his feet and rushed back toward the house calling out for Renard.

Renard breathed a sigh of relief after hearing the door being kicked open and his name being called. It was getting harder to see in the room-- the smoke was obscuring his vision, and he had been disoriented from being knocked to the floor earlier. He ran blindly through the smoke, hurriedly looking for the exit.

Ariel released some obscenity again at the prospect of going back in the house to fetch Renard, but every instinct told him he had to. As he launched himself inside he yelled out to Renard to follow the sound of is voice, which was when he bumped right into him, bouncing off him and down to the flaming floor again where he purposely rolled backwards fast, keeping the momentum as exited the door again and into the snow, all the while yelling obscenities for Renard to follow after.

The slight impact from Ariel sends Renard reeling back for a few moments. He regains his balance, dumbfounded, and watches Ariel roll through the exit Renard had been looking for, also clearing a smoke-free path simultaneously.
"I didn't think I was adventuring with an armadillo," he remarks, all the while regaining his smirk. He hastily ran after Ariel, diving through the door into the snow after having reached it. With a groan, he gets off of the snow and dusts himself off.

"Dammit... now my cape's all charred."
Ariel also gets up and brushes himself off, although his hair is a lightly singed in spots from the fire when he'd been rolling. But he was luaghing lightheartedly.
"Well that was a bit of fun," he said; "And that cape of yours may just be cursed, Ren."
Just then, Ariel heard the voices of hundreds of people cheering all around, kinda as if he was standing in some Roman arena after killing a lion. The cheering voices were chanting the words, "Roll, baby roll - More profanities - roll, baby roll!" Soon the sound of the crowd died out, replaced by the sound of Revel's voice, saying, "I like the way you roll, baby. Very entertaining! And just for that, here, have a power! Consider it a sign of good faith. But I bet you can't guess what the power is - have fun trying to figure it out!" Revel's voice then fades away with the sound of him chuckling.
Ariel looks to Renard and Maras, their lack of reaction being enough confirmation that he was the only one that heard it.
While listening to Ei, feeling seemed to slowly drain form Annie’s face, leaving her pallidly jaded. When Ei rested upon her shoulder, she moved her head systematically to place a kiss upon Ei's head before responding in a vapid tone, unfitting of a child.
“There, there….”
It was then that Ariel, Maras and Renard entered the house, yet Annie’s apathetic countenance changed very little, barely paying them the respect of even being noticed as she gently worked free from Ei’s embrace. Stepping back, her hand slid slowly down the contours of Ei’s arm to where their fingers became briefly entangled in a cumbersome effort to detach as Annie turned away.
“No one is invulnerable. One fools themselves in the belief that their existence is more valuable… more secure than others. In reality we are all nothing, we are feeble …insignificance is what we have in common.”
She takes seat upon a chair in the corner of the room, placing her hands on her lap in a genteel, refined manner to continue.
“You urge me to confide in you, but you do not know what you ask. To learn of the Order without being one with them, is to invite your own demise. The Order has remained hidden since before man drew his first breath, they take… honor in their obscurity. Their doctrine and principle stature relies on the foundation that they will not be sought. They will not be found. However… I now feel inclined to forsake my former restraint, but not because you ask me, but because I no longer care.
You see, Ei… What the Order does not know, is that each day my mother would inflict the teachings of the Order upon me. I would learn it, or I would be punished. So I learnt it. I was… a good student.”
She lifts her chin just a little, vaguely reassured of herself and brushes aside a dangled hair from her forehead, briefly acknowledges Maras and Ariel as they sit down to eat, and then proceeds to divulge the indoctrinated secrets of the Order:
“Before life, before…” She looks around in reference; “All of this, the universe was chaos, consisting of a single entity, be it both dark and light, both matter and incorporeal. Though the darkness was one with the light, the twain would never meet.... There came a moment, devoid of time, when this entity acknowledged its own existence, became aware of its consciousness, and looked upon that that it was. Alas, it was not pleased, nor did it take pleasure in the conflict of its structure. It therefor removed the darkness and pushed it asunder, keeping the light for itself. In that, it found pleasure, it found solace. It then spoke to the darkness, and said; “Go, do what you do, for I am that I am.”
And so the darkness went forth seeking that which it could not find, until the light brought forth the foundations of creation. In its hunger, the darkness coveted the creation that the light had made, yet it caused only damage, pain, for it knew nothing more. Nevertheless, the light had mercy upon the darkness and decided henceforth that darkness, by no knowledge of its own, would serve as the necessary evil to birth a new balance in a universe that would have otherwise been without discord, without lesson, without growth, without difference….
Soon, there was born a small people, powerful beings who referred to the light as the great Master, the spawn of all things – and yet they despised the knowledge of what the Master had done. They saw the original creation of peace and harmony as the creation that should have been, not the one that it became through the interference of darkness. They could, however, not punish the darkness for its actions, for it was ignorant and knew nothing but its own nature. In short, the Master’s acceptance of darkness in establishing dissonance within creation, was seen as no more than the Master refusing responsibility for the suffering that the darkness inflicted upon life.
Henceforth, this small group of beings, who came to inaugurate themselves as the Order, knew they would never kill the Master, for one cannot kill that that cannot be killed, but they made it there ambition – nay, their sole purpose of existence, to inflict misery upon all those born of the light – not for the sake of malice, rather in the hope that one day their infliction's would bring the Master forth to repentance. They want nothing but to have the Master acknowledge and accept responsibility for the crimes against his own creation.”
Annie pauses to observe Ariel as he gets from the table and starts vomiting, but then continues to ignore him, taking her jaded look back to Ei to complete her story in an undying lack of emotion.
I am the direct bloodline, spawn of the Order. In me is the inherited gift of countless generation, fashioned and evolved over eras. Don’t make the mistake of seeing me as the only one, the end strain of the bloodline, for there are many branches to the Orders tree. I am merely the end of one branch – you see, they now know I have forsaken them. That they will not, can not, tolerate that, for the safe continuation of the Order pends greatly on the secrecy of their existence. They are scared of me, because as I age my strengths will mature… that is life, and this knowledge unfortunately leaves the Order with a small window of opportunity to kill me before doing so becomes too difficult a task – But I don’t damn well care about their beliefs!” Her voice suddenly raised, born of bitter emotions. “I don’t care for their objectives! I care for nothing! My life has been nothing but sorrow for the aid of their filthy doctrine! They destroyed the life of my mother and in turn she destroyed mine!!”
Tears now flowed in a river down Annie’s face, her lips trembling with rage as her pupil’s sparked blue with fire.
“But you know what the sad thing is, Ei? Do you know what I realized on the day I watched my mother die?” She yells, rises from her chair with her little hands clenched in fists of rage – “It was all for nothing! Because nothing matters! Annie’s final word claps like thunder for even Maras, Renard and Ariel to hear as the roast pork feast reveals itself to everyone as a rotten corps, the walls of the house shutter and the timber floor is carpeted in blue flames, burning the feet of everyone inside.
Ei listens carefully to Annie's story, and doesn't flinch when the flames engulf the floor. Instead walking up to Annie, and wrapping her arms around here.
"Don’t worry, Annie. I'll help you. I won't let them force you to be part of it, nor let them silence you by force."
Ei runs her hand through Annie's hair, and smiles, all the while the flames somehow stay away from the duo.
"I'll help you if you want to get revenge. I'll help you if you want to just forget them. I'll be here to help you, just ask."
Ei gently places a kiss on Annie's forehead.
"But first, shall we have more fun with Ariel?"
Meanwhile, the group that had followed Vernon, accumulate on the shore of the island and he knocks on the door of the house, at last.
The door is opened by a young man wearing a robe of sorts. He looks at the group with suspicion. After all, it's not every day that a group of strangers arrive at his isolated island in the river.
"Who are you, and what do you want?"

(Oh my it's another dragon. Or is it?)
Lyudmila stares at the new dragon with suspicion for a bit, but shakes her head and diverts her attention elsewhere. Instead she takes one of the slain rabbits and starts to prepare it so it can be eaten. She puts a sheet on the ground to put the rabbits on when they're edible so she doesn't have to put them in the cold snow.

(Some stuff about fire and rotten food)
Maras is rather surprised at the speed with which things happen. First he was eating some pork, then Ariel suddenly started vomiting, claiming it was Rotten, and then all of a sudden he was dragged out of the building while Ariel and Renard were panicking.
"Sheesh, what was that about? Those flames were hardly threatening unless you weren't wearing shoes." Maras comments on Ariel & Renard's actions, sighing.
"And what exactly was with the food?"

"Ah, yeah, that." Ariel answered, he'd almost forgotten about human remains he'd been digesting before the ruckus. "It wasn't roast pork. It was actually a dead human, a well decomposed dead human to be more exact. Someone, and you probably don't need too many guesses as to who, must have put a spell on it to trick us. The only reason I found out about it was...." Ariel stopped, chewing his words for a moment; "You know what, never mind, you don't need to know how I found out. Let's just say a friend a told me. In any case, are you alright? I didn't pull your arm out of your socket with all that overreacting? I just saw fire out of nowhere and panicked, you can't really blame me after all the crap I've been subjected to over the last day or so."

"So it was rotten? Yuck." Maras says, turning a bit green as he does. Fortunately he manages to not vomit.
"So what is the plan now then? Find actual reasonable food?"

Renard gives Maras a strange look and shakes his head.
"Kid... are you really that hungry? We gotta find out who had the idea to entice us with food and then try to kill us," he says.
The castle was still in view from where they were standing. Renard turned around to look at it, appearing to be thinking.
"...Someone's out to stop us from attending the party," he mutters. "Can't have that, can we?"
Gwen dances back a few steps as the dragon climbs down from the tree. Her pigeon flares its wings, and she hugs it to her chest, staring at the dragon with eyes positively boiling with fear and rage.
Meanwhile, the group that had followed Vernon, accumulate on the shore of the island and he knocks on the door of the house, at last.
As Ace steps onto the shore, their stepping stones swing back below the water and vanish. They step around Vernon to stare at the door, tucking a hand beneath their cloak.

"My stomach may feel a little empty after all that vomiting," Ariel points out; "But I can't exactly say I'm feeling all that hungry at the moment. How about we start heading for that highly suspicious eyesore of a plateau sticking up out of town? Maybe we can find some food along the way or something. Who's with me?" He asks, as he turns to start his walk, every now and then performing a little skip in his step.
Jack skids to a halt as the blade slams down in front of him, the weight of the snow on his feet and legs assisting in the sudden stop. Boris may not be the smartest man around by any stretch of the imagination, but he was very confused seeing the sword slam down without anyone responsible for wielding said sword. From his standpoint he should have been able to see if someone or something was holding the sword, or even if someone had thrown said sword from another location, unless of course the sword had a mind of its own, which wasn't Boris's foremost thought on the matter. But even so, Boris was very, very angry at the sight of his good friend Jack almost being killed, and he starts running in Jack's direction ready to do some smash-smash.
"Boris help Jack!" He yells out as he approaches, his bone overhead in a hammer-hold fashion.

As Jack hits the sword, the runes hit by Magebuster shatter.
Only for them to reform mere seconds later. The sword lifts out of the ground, and a ghostly apparition of a massive knight that seems to wield the massive blade temporarily appears, seemingly laughing at Jacks's attempt, before vanishing and bringing the sword down on Jack, again attempting to turn one full Jack into two Half Jacks.

How about we start heading for that highly suspicious eyesore of a plateau sticking up out of town? Maybe we can find some food along the way or something. Who's with me?" He asks, as he turns to start his walk, every now and then performing a little skip in his step.
"Well, I haven't had much breakfast, so I'm kinda hungry really. But it seems that the two of you would rather go and explore..."
As Ariel wanders off, Maras nudges Renard, and points out Ariel's skipping.
"What's with him?" He asks, keeping his voice low enough so that Ariel wouldn't hear him.

As Orson watches the ordeal play out, he tries to step out of the way of any flying chunks of rock or things of that sort, and considers helping Jack to gain his trust, which could be very useful.

As Orson is watching the commotion take place, he hears a small catlike voice speak up from behind him -
"Move."
Meanwhile, the average man in the light blue evening wear finally finds his ability to turn away from the wall, maybe just by chance, as he then starts staggering dazedly back across the street towards the church.
Orson turns around to see what this voice is, he looks up at his height so if the creature is small, he will not notice it until he looks downward.

Meet Ashen the shoulder dragon!
"Oh.. no..."
Eventually, Arin arrives at a town wall. It seems to be abandoned, judging by the sorry state it can be found in.
The door is opened by a young man wearing a robe of sorts. He looks at the group with suspicion. After all, it's not every day that a group of strangers arrive at his isolated island in the river.
"Who are you, and what do you want?"
As Jack runs towards his crossbow, he only narrowly avoids being cut in half by the massive sword that slams into the ground in front of him. It's the same sword as the one seen in the church, but it's runes are now glowing in a variety of different colours.
Jack skids to a halt as the blade slams down in front of him, the weight of the snow on his feet and legs assisting in the sudden stop. He takes a step back before doing the first thing that comes to mind: He lifts Magebuster, wielding it two-handed, and swings it down onto the rune-covered sword, hoping its anti-magic properties have some effect on it.
Or that at the very least it might do some physical damage to it.
He looks to see how tall it is, and if he can climb over it(If he can't he starts running around the wall).
Gwen dances back a few steps as the dragon climbs down from the tree. Her pigeon flares its wings, and she hugs it to her chest, staring at the dragon with eyes positively boiling with fear and rage.
The wall is a bit too tall to climb over. Fortunately though. There's a gate not far away that he could enter the town through.
