The journey was shorter than expected. Although the rain impeded their movements, the group continued on with little resistance. When they had arrived at the city's eastern gate, Kaleth breathed a sigh of relief. His fears came back, however, when a guard had stopped the group on search for someone with a stone. He had half a mind to just surrender Garwend to the authorities and be on his way, but where would he be if he had just given up hope like that? Kaleth retained his calm and stoic behavior in the guise of remaining oblivious.
"A stone? Now what would be so useful about a stone?" Kaleth asked.

Godric concealed the terror he felt. They had been stopped by the guards just outside of Marshtowers, who were searching for somebody carrying a stone. Obviously, this meant they were being searched for. If that Queen survived the dragon attack, Godric was going to kill her someday. For now though, they had to hope for their lives.

"Hmm." The guard with the sword looks up from his paper in hand. He looks back down at the paper and mutters something, which only some of is audible.
" . . . Thragon . . . might be . . .no? . . .yes." The guard folds the parchment back into his pocket and signals other guards to come over.
"Yes sir!"
The guard with the sword looks at them. "Would you search these here fellows for anything that may or may not link them to that recent attack."
"Right away!" One of the guards replies. They step over to the party and begin to search their belongings.
"Sorry about this, its part of my job and I cant be too careful. So where do you guys hale from?" The guard with the sword oddly asks the team as they are being searched.
One of the guards searching the team finds the glowing stone and holds it in the air and squints at it, as if to get a better look. He then looks at the guard with the sword. "Sir! I have a stone that may fit the description!"
The sword guard disengages the conversation and looks at the other holding the stone. "Hmm!" His stance instantly changes to one of defense and grasps the handle of his blade. "Bring it ere!"
He walks over to the other guard and hands him the stone. The sword guard stares at the stone then brakes it, glancing back at the party, then back at the guard who gathered the stone.
He lets go of his sword handle and his stance relaxes. "This isnt the same stone m' boy! Its the wrong color!" He walks to the party and hands the stone back, and the search discontinues. "Quite sorry bout that. Timmy over there has poor eye sight. He wanted to be an archer like his ol pappy but couldn't cut it with a bow so he cuts it with a blade. I took him in under my guard's watch." The guard seems rather talkative. "Me and his pappy fought along each other during many battles. Good man he was, yes. Say, you wouldn't happen to know anything about 'The Falls' would you? People saying all kinds of crazy happenings are going on oh ver' there."
((As long as we're talking about perks, how about one that gives a person a boost(2x maybe?) to all stats except hp when they fall beneath 10% hp? A sort of adrenaline rush or something.))
Kaleth stood there stiffly as the guard began wondering what to do. The guard muttered the word Thragon, which left Kaleth stunned for a moment, unsure of what to do. When the guard ordered the other guardsman to begin searching the group for possible evidence, Kaleth felt fear, but he did not show it. He pushed the primal instinct to flee to the back of his mind.
"Ah... It's alright. I hail from the northern Thragon tribes." Kaleth said in reply.
The Thragon's eyes widened when the guard said that he had found the stone. Kaleth began to silently pray for deliverance while at the same time curse the gods for putting them in such a precarious situation. The moment was very tense, but when the guard passed it off and said that the stone was the wrong color, Kaleth breathed a silent sigh of relief. The guard began excusing his friend, stating that he had bad eyesight. While the Thragon would usually love to listen to stories of old, he was far too preoccupied with himself. He did, however, feign interest.
"Mhmm... I see."
When the guard asked about "the 'falls", Kaleth presumed it was Bleatingfalls. He decided to play it off as ignorance for now.

((I have a very similar perk that you suggested Shadow, for the samurai, however that gets me thinking. A perk like that for almost all classes, boosting stats that are used by said class often. For the idea of switching stats, there is too much potential for it to back fire and become a hindrance for me to incorporate it.))

For example, if you attack, you gain an attack bonus, or when you take a hit, you gain a defense bonus. There could be lots of variations of this kind of perk,
Maybe a perk that causes otherwise lethal attacks to leave the player at 1 hp, but causes either a turn of stun, or debuffs to all stats for the duration of the battle. This debuff can be negated with the adrenaline rush perk.
How about a perk that allows you to throw all your mana into a single spell, adding additional damage depending on how much mp was lost. And maybe a perk that allows you to trade hp for mp, maybe 1 hp = 2 mp or something. Perhaps the two could be combined so that you can trade both your hp and mp into one massive finishing blow.
If you guys want to sell anything off, you should probably have Lancaster do it, as he gets a bonus to buying and selling. If you want to pass any supplies to Kaleth to be turned into augments, that works too. If you have no money, nor supplies to give, I think you can find an empty part of town to spar in, giving you weapon mastery experience.))
"The Sassy Goat eh?" Kaleth thought to himself out loud. "I'll keep that in mind. Thanks." He looked to his allies before looking towards the city.
"We should get going then. Thanks again." Kaleth said.

((Barbarian class already has a perk for those; boosting attack when getting struck, per turn and when striking. However I do not have one for gaining a defense bonus or other stats.
Also already have a perk where as there is a chance for the player to retain 1hp if an attack would other wise be lethal.))

((It is settled then. Alyssa, Garwend, Zenowo and Jeck can go spar with each other to improve their stats. Lancaster can either go spar, or come with Godric and Kaleth in case they need to sell or buy something. By nightfall, or if something happens, we meet back at the Sassy Goat. If they don't move, could those be their actions by default?))
"Let's head out then. I'm sure there's a jeweler around here somewhere." Kaleth said.
He began wandering the streets in search for a jeweler. Kaleth could remember that he once visited a jeweler here to sell off some augments and such, but he did not know how to get there from where he was now. Nevertheless, he pushed on through the streets to keep looking for a place to do some augmenting.

((Since three days have passed, those will be their moves by default. Also I am almost done with adding the leveling perks. The classes I still need some perks for as of writing this are Alchemist, Crafter, Noble, Jeweler and Thief. On another note, I forgot how I had sparing implemented, so I will use it as a way to level up weapon mastery. For Lancaster I will roll i he decides to go with the sparing group or the other.))
Lancaster decided he would join Godric and Kaleth as he was more accustomed to the merchanting scene than he was a fighter. After crossing only one street they found a row of shops, the very first one being a jewler, though not the same one as they had previously visited. This one went by the name of "From Splendent Rocks to Pendant and Locks".
Alyssa, Garwend, Zenowo and Jeck headed off in the opposite direction, looking for a good area to spar. They traveled quite a distance from where they were originally to the very western edge of the town, where the line of what was the city and what was ruins were blurred. They came across a large barn or warehouse like structure, neglected and abandoned, but open and wide to incorporate much movement for the small group. The amount of traffic outside was rather minimal, with only a few people passing by every hour. The group spoke amungst each other before they drew their weapons and begin sparring. They continued to do so for what seemed like only a short time, but before they knew it, the sun was beginning to lower behind the horizon and they were exhausted.
((Alyssa and Garwend gain +5% to her weapon mastery, Zenowo +2% to his and +3% for Jeck.))
As the group was putting there weapons away, they could hear something approaching them. "The Stone! The Stone! The Stone!" It came closer. "The stone! The Stone! The Stone!" It was apparent that it was someone saying something. "The Stone! The Stone! The Stone!" They could now tell it was someone chanting. Finally a thragon walked into their area. He was about the same age and build as Kaleth and was in shoddy clothing. He held in his hand a stone, exactly like the one the group had. "The Stone! The Stone! The Stone! Do you know the power of the Stone!" As he said this the stone he held faintly glowed purple. His eyes and mannerisms showed he was deranged.

((I guess crazy talk is better than no talk.))
"Sir! I have a copy of the stone you now wield, do you mind if I take a look at your stone and compare it with ours?" Garwend hastily asked this man as even though he seemed to be talking crazily.
((I am going to assume that he agreed.))
"You also wield one of these stones?" The man exclaimed. "By all means, take mine. The Power of the stones is almost unholy."
"Thank you sir, please talk to my friends while I go show this to the rest of my group," Garwend replied as he hastily sprinted off towards the other half of the group.
((I've got a few ideas for perks. I do believe that the noncombatant-classes should have a few combat perks to help bring them up to snuff in a battle though.
For alchemist, how about a chance for usable alchemical reagents(plants, special enemy drops, etc.) to be doubled? Or perhaps a special reagent occasionally drops from enemies. This reagent can strengthen other potions and such, but is useless on its own. In combat, how about a perk that allows the alchemist to increase the effects of stat-boosting items?
Crafter could have a perk that reduces the amount of material needed to craft something. Maybe a perk that increases the chance of creating a high-quality item. During battle, maybe fallen enemies have a higher chance of dropping more/better materials.
Maybe nobles could have a chance to buy or sell items at a lower or higher price than usual respectively. Perhaps an ability to boost other member's stats slightly during battle due to their noble heritage. Other than that, not sure what else is good for noble.
Jewelers could have perks similar to the crafter. As a combat perk, maybe they have a small chance to either double to positive effects of an augment, or cut the negative effects of an augment in half during battle.
Thieves could have a chance to steal bonus loot from an enemy upon hitting them. Maybe they get the ability to attack an enemy after dodging, or perhaps an ability to dodge an otherwise lethal attack entirely.
That's all I got for now. Might think of more later.))
A few minutes later, the trio had found a row of shops across the street. Luckily, it seemed that the first shop in this chain of stores was a jeweler. Perhaps they could sell off some items, and make a few new ones afterwards. Kaleth opened the door and walked towards the shopkeep.
"Greetings, friend. Could we use your workshop? We will compensate." Kaleth declared.

((I have completed the perks for the classes, and will soon also make racial perks as well. Those of you who have gained a combat lv will notice shortly after this post that you have a new perk added. Also, as a surprise I have fleshed out alchemy. Potions are able to be made, using both a plant and a material. They all have different affects and uses. Garwend I am guessing will like this. Feel free to ask about this skill. Oh; Almost forgot; I have yet to name all the perks so a few may not have names yet.
Also the skilling classes do indeed have some combat perks. All of what you suggested is a perk in one form or another. (Except for the noble boosting allies stats, thats something I left for the Clerics).))
"Dont walk away with my Stone!" The Thragon shrieks. "The Stone is mine, and mine only! Give me yours!" He says in a shrill voice.
"I cant! I cant protect the stone alone with these people around! ALL THESE PEOPLE!" He seems to become more and more deeper into insanity as he speaks.
"Goddess! Bring me your aid!"
Almost instantaneously Jeck grabs his head and starts moaning in pain. He then gives out a quick scream with his eyes closed. He then calmly returns to a normal upright position and open his eyes. He stares at emptiness and his pupils quickly fluctuate from large to small several times. He then dons a combat position against the party there and raises his sword, ready to strike. The Thragon also spears ready to fight as well.
Mean While . . .
A young human man with a well scared face and only one arm turns to Kaleth. "Hmm. Yes, but after we are closed and everything is locked away. We charge 244 a night, and do not try anything funny. You do not want to know what happened to the last fellow who did."

((Barbarian class already has a perk for those; boosting attack when getting struck, per turn and when striking. However I do not have one for gaining a defense bonus or other stats.
Also already have a perk where as there is a chance for the player to retain 1hp if an attack would other wise be lethal.))
((If nobody posts in a while, I'll just make the turn on my own. I'm sure Godric won't mind me taking a bit of the wood and bark he gathered so that I can make a few augments. How long does an augment take to be created, and how much does renting a workshop cost?))

((Made items do not take more than a single day. A single use of a workshop is 5d100 (fixed after roll) per day.))
((I was already planning to have Godric try his hand at augment crafting if no one else was going to, so I'm sure he won't mind Kaleth using some of the wood.
In terms of perks, I honestly don't have all that many ideas. I just hope the Alchemist gets some good perks.))
"In that case, I'm coming with you." Godric stated almost immediately. He had some wood with him that might make good augments, so going along with Kaleth sounded like a good idea.
((I apologize if it seems I've been posting short posts and not often. Just haven't really been inspired to post much.))
Would you rather read a story of knights and dragons, or be in one?
I'm glad people support my dragon raising. Could I ask for assistance with this one now?
Check out my dragon scroll(http://dragcave.net/user/Heric) if you want to see the dragons I have. I may get more dragons later.
((Same. I don't know what to say here.))

Whatever I just said, I didn't mean any offense. Unless we're fighting, in which case I probably did.
If I said something was a joke when it didn't seem like one, I'm making an excuse to avoid an argument I know is coming. Instead of telling me how not funny I am and how it didn't seem like a joke at all, just go along with it. Because flame wars suck and nobody wants to be a part of one.
Roughly 95% of Minecraft players hate Villagers and would be very happy if they were removed. If you are one of the 5% who actually like villagers, copy this into your signature.-RainbowGirl
The damn image won't work-screw my iPad!-but you should click this link. Now. Or you'll regret it...because this suggestion is epic.
((I am doing my best to make all the perks balanced.))
