Setrok strode through the forest, towards his cabin. The tall Landon quickly arrived, unlocking the door and pushing it open gently. Setrok then retreived his crossbow from it's hook on the wall, bringing it outside and looking around. Setrok slowly loaded the weapon, quickly taking aim of a thivk tree and shooting. It hit the centre dead on.
"That was fine fighting sir, I have not seen its equal," Kartha remarked. Leif turned momentarily as they stepped through the exits, nodding and replying to his subordinate.
"Yours was equally impressive, soldier," he said, using the same tone she had. He gave his compliment with full sincerity; he regretted that he had been forced to spill blood, unlike Kartha, but it was only the blood of a savage. General Arant would certainly liken their blood to that of a bear. Then again, one could eat a bear, and one would not eat a human, lest one was a Wild Man. But the Shcots were nearly Wild Men themselves... For a moment, Leif was worried that this small girl might attempt to eat his flesh off, but the sensation quickly subsided. Meanwhile, he sensed a mutual respect developing. between himself and Kartha.
He then stepped outside, where he had been expecting some darkness, but was surprised to see the sun was not quite beneath the horizon yet. At least, he guessed it was not below the horizon. He could not quite be sure, because the Phoenix was creating a grand shadow over him, emanating from a silhouette which blocked the sun. It was not quite a solar eclipse, but for Leif, it was just as unlucky.
((One does not quote one's own posts. Unless said one is very lonely. Or if said one has now met another one and become two and therefore, technically, is no longer quoting one's own posts but rather one's former self's posts, just as when one eats a fish, one is not eating a distant relative but a distant relative of a distant ancestor. Except one is eating a distant relative. Maybe we should stop talking about one?))
Laire burst forward, the Phoenix being such a remarkable creature, and her inhibitions being as diminished as they were. She was near to touching the bird when common sense kicked back in and, remarkably, she remembered that this bird could sprout fire. She took a step back and admired the beast for a moment longer. Then, Laire decided there was no point in living if she couldn't pet giant pyromaniacal birds.
When her right hand touched the bird, she felt so many things course through her, feeling of happiness and warmth. Perhaps no exactly feelings, these were more akin to senses. A rewarding primordial instinct. She felt as though everything was clear, and she realized just how bad an idea it had been to enter the bar. Of course her father was right. But then, as quickly as the thoughts had arrived, they were replaced with happy emotions. Of course father will understand, he won't be mad, she thought, smiling. But she did not smile on the outside. Here, in this place of her brain with happy emotions, she was completely cut off from her outside body. She could feel her hand brushing against those soft, warm feathers of the Phoenix, but she could not feel as she fainted, her body tumbling to the ground.
Leif watched as the girl collapsed, cursing himself for not reacting sooner when the girl had moved towards the Phoenix. This useless beast had done nothing but interfere with his mission. If ever there were an excuse which would not land him on the General's good side, this was it. "Oh, sorry, but the most rare and legendary of mythical creatures, which you may or may not believe exists, happened to confront me at every turn and stop my mission from succeeding. I would say it won't happen again, but with my luck, it probably will". Indeed, t'was not a good excuse. Luckily, Leif had no plans to finish this mission with an excuse.
"Kartha, you're going to get the girl to safety. I plan to annoy this monster until then," Leif said, realizing that some of his inebriation may still be seeping through, despite his mental will against it. He then remembered why the girl was so important, and added, "That's the Cheif's daughter, by the way."
Leif removed his sword, stabbed it into the air beside him, and reflected the blinding light of the sun into the Phoenix's eyes. If the legend was true, this would, theoretically, have no effect. If it weren't, then Leif would finally have found a way to hurt this creature. He had to admire its abilities, though. A creature as strong as the Phoenix in the hands of the Garlants would be ideal.

Kartha picked up Laire, the girl's body warm and healthy, unusually warm though. She carried her to safety a few hundred feet away under a mighty oak.
Falgrin Approached undetected. He sensed the sword, and another thing: The Phoenix. He was not worried by it, it could only pester him, an Alpha Torgon would be another matter. But, nevertheless Orma would have its day. Now he only wondered what a Phoenix was doing in a Schot village...
General Arant paced in his office, the sounds of a developing country faint in the background. Governor, Commander and Dictator of this Garlent sector, the man had much on his plate, though the people viewied him not as a man, but as a God. The engineers were testing with fire powder, one thing the Orman people help over him, the builder's cutting lumber, Spies stealing Fairlan ship blueprints, and the Miners ever at work getting Iron for the armory.
But where was the message from young Leif, and why had Kartha not sent word? After all he had done for her, the travel, the schooling, convincing her father to let her join, he would expect some word from her at least. And the Sargent, Von Cronts, no word from the old man ethier. Something, something had gone wrong.
Helga, his secretary, knocked on the thick wooden door to his comfortable office.
"Enter." He said.
"I've a letter for you General."
"Helga my dear, perfect. I assume it to be from squad leader Leif."
"Nien, it is from your inteligence officer in Orma, he was discovered and committed suicide after sending it." She replied.
Arant snached the paper from her. Normally he was kind to the girl, he had a more than friendly relationship with the woman. However this was truly awful news. He unfolded the paper and began reading.

((okay. What region is this though, is the fairlan/landon border like a european-esque area? Just so I can know the climate and wildlife that can be found.))
The soft sound of shifting pebbles briefly breaks the silence of a rocky shore. Ayame looks around, noticing the distinct differences of this landcape. "Pine trees. These aren't the same types at home though." She quickly focuses on a rustling in the trees. A characteristic knocking sound resonated in the forest. Through the pine needles, Ayame could see a bird, more specifically, a woodpecker. She took out a notebook from the cargo, clearly labeled "Birds". She quickly flipped through the pages. This bird seemed familiar. "Here it is." Ayame read the bird's name. "Great Spotted woodpecker." When she looked at the picture though, she could tell that there were differences between this new bird and the Great Spotted variety. One obvious one was the larger "crest" of red feathers on it's head. She quickly sketched the bird on the page next to the Great Spotted woodpecker. Writing down a quick description. The bird flies away before Ayame gets to name it. She stares into the dense woods, then down the coast, thinking about what she should do next. "I guess I'll just travel along the coast until I find a good port." Ayame clambers back into the boat, and uses a staff to push off. The winds take her to the east...

Appearance: 18 year old man who is skinny, agile, and fast. He is only five foot with dark eyes which helps him blend in with the dark.
BIO: Ian is a very sneaky man who works hard but is a lone wolf. When work does not do the job he goes to his side job, being an assassin. Using his stealthy techniques, potion brewing, and swordsmanship skills he takes out all his targets requested but with high price.

((I don't have the authority to accept or deny you, but I know that you're going to need to add an appearance; One that includes Height, Weight, Hair and eye colour))
Appearance: Nagisa, in our world, would highly resemble a young Japanese girl. She has slightly reddish tinged dark hair, that goes down to slightly below her shoulders. Nagisa has warm, brownish eyes. They sometimes look like they are amber, at other times like they are chestnut brown, depending on the lighting.
Personality: Nagisa is very shy, rarely speaking. When she does, she is very kind. Despite being easily weakened or catching a sickness, Nagisa always tries her best and believes she can do anything she needs to. When Nagisa sets her mind to something, she cannot be swayed in her opinion. If she wants to do something badly enough, she will never stop trying to do it.
History: Nagisa lived in a small Sholan village in the Sholan lands in Orma. She was born and raised in the same house for her whole life. Nagisa was an only child, always very happy with her parents. One day, when Nagisa was only 14 years old, a deadly invasion seized the village. Nagisa's village was on the water's edge, making its inhabitants have a slightly better chance of escape. Nagisa's parents owned only a small, one person boat. They knew that Nagisa would most likely not survive the journey, due to being very susceptible to weakness and sickness, though put her on the boat regardless, hoping for her to be able to continue their family's legacy. Nagisa barely made it to Terma, very sick and in urgent need of medical help.

((I would like to create another character as well, if that is okay with you barry.))
Name: Ichirou Hayashi
Gender: M
Age: 29
Personality: He is stubborn and doesn't take orders well. He cares for his family deeply, which is why he had made sure to cover his tracks. When he gets angry, he goes full on berserk. He dislikes people that claim they have authority over him, but he understands if they are family members. He is agile and stealthy, even more so than his younger sister. He is skilled with knives, small blades, and small projectiles like throwing knives and shurikens.
Role: He is a deserter from the Shonan army. He faked his death and became a rouge.
Faction: He is the eldest son of the Hayashi family, he hails from the same Sholan town.
Bio: After he joined the army, he became fed up with taking orders from his "superiors". He did not find their criticism on his style of fighting worthwhile. He did not want to just desert the army, as that would bring great shame upon his family, so he faked his death, and left for Terma. He has been there for around 5 years now. He is now a mercenary, his latest "quest" has left him in a Schot village.

Nagisa barely made it to Terma, very sick and in urgent need of medical help.

a small and slowly comes out of its nest.
