Callandra woke with a start. She sat up and blinked, confused. She thought she had heard a horn. Looking around she realized she was in the healing tent, she watched the healers bustle about before standing and shaking off the lingering dreams that had haunted her sleep. Callandra grabbed her cloak, which she had laid out beside her the night before, and shrugged it on, blocking out the chill that the night had brought. She suddenly remembered the conversation from the other night and Zack saying that there was training this morning. She nodded to the healers and left the tent, seeing many people already milling about and starting the day. The sky made her look up, the brilliant shades of orange and blue streaking across the horizon, reminded her of her childhood. When she and her brother would wake early and watch the sunrise, the only real time they had no worries of sickness or hunger. She lingered in the happy memory a moment longer, before turning to see Arthur and Zack standing at the centre of all the activity. She hurried over to them, noticing that Arthur looked to be still half asleep. She looked at him, slightly amused, before turning to Zack and smiling.
Rowan awoke to a sudden bump in the dusty road. The caravan interior was dark, only kept alight by a crack of sunshine seen through a small window. The makeshift bed he was sleeping on a few moments ago had rolled to the side. It had appeared that Rowan had awoken when the wheel had reached a sudden decline. Nonetheless, the golden sun was shining over the horizon; it must be dawn. Rowan stood up and looked out the window to see stone fortifications. Perhaps he had finally reached Castle Nephelem. Rowan donned his armor and weapons as he clumsily opened the door to the outside. He and the villagers, of whom, he has taken under his protection, had traveled quite a ways away, so Rowan had felt happy to finally reach the castle.
"Never thought I'd be happy to see another castle again." Rowan spoke, reminiscing his days when he was sworn under a lord. He hopped outside, his landing creating quite a ruckus despite the short descent, seeing as he was in full armor plating. Rowan greeted his fellows in the caravans, and strode onwards towards the castle, intent on meeting with the guards for refuge.
"I am Rowan Reginold, and this is the remnants of our village, which was destroyed by the forces of chaos. We request refuge, and in return, I will fight for your cause." he spoke crisply. The guard stationed at the gate laughed, but quickly left his post after realizing Rowan was serious. The guard returned several minutes later, presumably having spoken to his superior. The gate had opened to Rowan and his companions. The villagers had thanked Rowan, and quickly went around the castle grounds, looking for a place they could stay. Rowan, seeing as the first part of his quest was finished, took a swig of spiced wine and began wandering, looking for the castle's authority.
Rowan had walked for a short while, before reaching the training yard and quickly identifying the general. The general had several people around him((I'm assuming Niv, Tezzeret, and Elspeth are with Zack alongside Callandra and Arthur. If this is not the case, just assume that Rowan sees only the three of them(Zack, Arthur, Callandra))), each of which looked more able than most. The general had an aura of influence, something Rowan could recognize within his prevous commanders. He strode onwards towards the man who he assumed was the general and spoke, "In return for harboring my people, I wish to join your ranks." with a crisp tone of confidence.

Zack greeted Callandra and Authur accordingly, before a guard had run up. "Sir, we've got.. Refuges? Yeah. First ones in a long time." Zack nodded. "Let them in. Humanity might as well try to survive. But I hope they know how much blood is spilled here." Zack said. A few minutes later the leader of these villagers appeared, asking to join the ranks. "We don't have much time today.. Recruits need to train.. You'll have to spar me, then." Zack said to himself. "If you can spar me and show me your strength, we'll see. Tezzeret, show Callandra and Aurthur to the training grounds. Niv and Elspeth, your on patrol today." Zack said. Tezzeret smiled (He loves training) while Elspeth and Niv groaned in complaint before walking off.
Arthur, now fully awake, saw a gaurd approach the group, he hoped that the guard did not bring news of another attack but instead they came with news of refugees. This news was soon followed by an armoured figure walking towards Zack, Callandra and himself. Unlike the armoured figure from the night before, this one didn't seem like it wanted to attack him. Furthermore there was someone inside, unlike the strange red energy in the walking armour from the battle. The man within the armour said that he wished to join the ranks of the castle. Was he another Nephalem like Callandra and Arthur? What powers did he have? But before Arthur could even introduce himself Zack said that he would be sparring with him. Perhas there would be time for introductions and such at a later time shoudl the newcomer prove to be worthy of joining the ranks of thr castle. In the meantime it was revealed that he and Callandra were going to train with Tezzeret, who smiled at the mention of that fact. That made him a little uneasy, Tezzeret seemed perhaps a little too happy about training. It made Arthur worry that the training would be tough. He gave a forced smile and tentatively said "Umm... Lead the way" he said to Tezzeret.

Callandra turned from the group, seeing a guard running up. She was surprised to hear that there were refugees on their way, it seemed that all around them, villages and cities were falling. A man soon came after, announcing that he wished to join the ranks. She tilted her head slightly as she watched him speak. He was confident, she'd give him that. She noticed his armour had probably seen better days, but he was still intimidating. She turned back to Zack as he began to speak. She almost felt sorry for the man, having to spar with Zack, but she guessed he would go slightly easy on him. If the stranger was a Nephelem, it'd be best if he wasn't killed in a sparring match. Callandra wasn't sure how she felt about training now. Sure, she was excited, but Tezzeret's smile was starting to unnerve her. She watched Niv and Elspeth walk off before waiting for Tezzeret to lead the way.

Rowan lifts an eyebrow at his sparring partner, would he truly have to fight the general himself? He did not know much about the general himself, but if he commands the last bastion of humanity, he must be powerful. Rowan takes out his flask, drinks from it, then straps it back into place.
"Very well." Rowan says plainly.
"Where shall we do battle?" he asks inquisitively.
Rowan pulls out his swordbreaker and inspects it for any traces of damage; cracks, rust, and the like. Appearing satisfied, he twirls the blade in his hand for a flourish before returning it to the scabbard strapped to his back. Rowan then stands straight, waiting for the general's instructions.
"This will be interesting. A soldier should know his commander's abilities, after all." he thinks to himself reassuringly.

Tezzeret began walking twords the gate to leave the castle, he motioned for the others to follow. He put his hands to his side as blue energy started flowing from his palms and making circles around his fingers. He started to trace various symbols into the air in front of himself with the blue energy. After a few minutes, he finished a huge circle made of the energy and symbols. It became a solid blue circle and Tezzeret stepped into it, vanishing. The other side was an alternate dimension, with no obvious dimensions. Only blackness, despite the fact that it felt like there was a solid floor.
"I don't know if I'll need to use my abilities." He said, chuckling. He walked off to the arena, standing in it at the far end waiting for Rowan.
Arthur watched as Tezzeret began walking towards the gate, as if he was leaving the castle grounds. This was a little surprising, Arthur had expected that there was a training ground within the castle walls that they could use. But it made sense to train outside the castle walls as well, especially when the people being trained had abilities such as those that Arthur and Callandra had. When Tezzeret motioned for him to follow, Arthur did so. But it was then that he saw the blue energy surrounding Tezzeret's hands. What was this? What was he going to do? Cast a spell? Attack them as part of the training? Arthur stopped and stared, unsure about what Tezzeret was doing. Soon he saw the symbols and the circle they formed, was this a spell he was casting? What would it do? That question was soon answered as what could be described as a portal formed. Tezzeret stepped inside and vanished. Arthur tentatively took a few steps closer to the portal, then stopped and then took a few more. This pattern continued until he was standing infront of the portal. He stared at it, assuming that Tezzeret wanted him to follow him inside. He slowly stepped inside, unsure of what would happen if he did so. Inside it was dark, Arthur couldn't really tell what this place was like. The ground felt solid but he wasn't sure what he was standing on. "What is this place?" he asked in a mystified voice.
Rowan looked to his left and saw a man gesturing them to follow. The general and another man starts walking after him so Rowan quickly follows suit. The man who they were following had walked outside and was performing a ritual of some sort. Was this to be the battleground? When the spell was complete, a glowing full circle complete with runes and various symbols appeared on the ground, mesmerizing Rowan. The man, the general, and the other man walk into the circle and disappear. Rowan could hear the general muttering something to himself, but he ignored the remark. Before Rowan stepped into the circle, he had a single, disdainful thought on his mind.
"Hmph. Magic."
As Rowan stepped into the circle he noticed the sky quickly blackening, and the landscape turning into darkness, kept alight only by the glowing blue floor. Rowan was surprised by it, but returns to his usual mentality. This was not the first time he was in an alternate dimension. Knights were usually called upon to slay rogue mages, so the place was only slightly unfamiliar to him. Rowan wondered if the place had traps, but that was only his mage-slaying thoughts influencing him. He could see the general on the far side of the circle, and the other people waiting at the side. Rowan instinctively walks to the other side of the circle and prepares his swordbreaker blade. He makes a small honorbound bow, then assumes a fighting stance, waiting for his opponent to make the first move.

Callandra followed Tezzeret and the others to outside the castle walls. Confused as to why they were going out, she watched as Tezzeret starting making symbols in the air, his hands glowing. When Tezzeret stepped into the now portal-like circle, Callandra's eyes widened in surprise. She supposed it made sense though, they probably didn't want any damage done inside the castle. It was best to practice abilities elsewhere. She followed behind them as she hesitantly stepped into the circle. Once inside, she blinked, trying to get her eyes used to the darkness. To be honest, she hated the dark, it made her uneasy. Callandra had no answer to Arthur's question, in fact she was wondering the same thing. She started a small flame in her left hand, flickering around her fingers, trying to see around the darkness.

"Tezzeret, mind setting us up?" Zack asked. Tezzeret held up his hand as a massive wall of energy appeared, sparking and moving. "Allow me to explain. All mages must learn to dimension travel if they wish to ever become a member of the circle of magi. This is the one I found. Mana in his dimension is infinite - meaning that you can easily train without a limit. Although for Zacks sake I created a barrier around him and the new guy which restores the normal mana limit." Tezzeret said happily.
The wall of energy soon boxed in Zack and Rowan. "I'm ready when you are." Zack said.
Rowan makes a sudden move to a defensive stance when he noticed the magical barriers. It would seem that his past still haunts him. His grip on his blade loosens when he hears the mage explain that the barrier is for the fight's purpose only. Rowan could feel an energy within him dissipating, just as the mage said it would. Rowan could hear his opponent saying that he was ready, and as such, moves to an offensive stance.
"Very well then, to victory!" Rowan shouts as he sprints towards his opponent. The clanging of his plate armor was jarring, and the sudden movement was noticeably taking a toll on Rowan's stamina. Nonetheless, a faint aura surrounds his front, it would seem that Rowan is preparing a spell, but whether it was offensive or defensive one was unnoticeable to all but the most adept mages.
((It's a defensive spell, by the way. If your character has the skills to detect a magical charge, you may use this against him.))

Arthur watches as Tezzeret cast the spell, creating a barrier of some sort around Zack and the new person. Tezzeret went on to explain about this dimension and the infinate mana present within it as well as the reason for the barrier. He said that if a mage was to join the circle of magi they would have to learn to travel between dimensions. Arthur looked around the dimension, this was the place where they would train and they would be able to train beyond the limits of the normal dimension. With such an abundance of mana it seemed only logical that they wouldn't run out. Was it even possible for a space to contain so much magic? Arthur supposed the answer would be yes, it was possible, after all this place existed. How much magic did it take to even enter this place? Returning to the task at hand, Arthur decided to try using his ability in this place. He held out his hand and foccused his power. A sphere of psychic energy formed at his fingertips. He didn't propell it as he would in a battle, this was more of just a test to see what would happen. After a few moments he let the energy dissapte harmlessly into the air, he turned to Tezzeret. "How can the mana within this place be infinite?" he asked, curious about the magic contained within this place.

Callandra watched in awe as hot flames flickered around her hand. Surprised and not feeling the familar pull of weariness from her power. She had never seen nor heard of this kind of "dimension" magic and if she did she would've dismissed it as nonsense. Or at least, her father would have. It was strange, the infinite mana, she briefly wondered how far she could push her power. She extinguished the flame as Zack and the new man were boxed off by Tezzeret's magic. With a note of amusement, she wondered if they should make bets as to how long this guy would last. Especially against Zack. Beside her, she noticed Arthur trying out his power, but turned back to the spar when he asked a question. She assumed it was for Tezzeret so she watched the new recruit charge at Zack, noticing a faint aura in front of him.
Zack analyzed his opponent, now running twords him. He was definitely a nephalem, magic being displayed already. Zack wondered for a split second how well he could use this power. Despite being one of the strongest mages currently on the planet, Zack was not a.. Well, Tezzeret style mage. He didn't study magic in it's raw forms nor could he use it with too much variation. He only landed on the circle of magi due to his overwhelming combat magic. I need to go easy.. He thought to himself, pulling his hands away from his swords. Static popped around his body, making small sparks of light. His left hand lit up with electricity as he brought it in a small swing at Rowans face. Lowest voltage I've got, should only sting a little.. Zack reassured himself.
Tezzeret smiled. "Yeah, yeah. Their battle will be interesting and all, but we have work to do. As I mentioned, this plane is filled with an infinite mana source. This means all your abilities are multiplied.. Something that'd take all your strength in our world would be easy to do here, and takes some getting used to. Don't try to use to much mana at once or you may find that it's more than you asked for. I've just got some simple things here for tests." He raised both of his hands as blue magic rushed across the ground, turning into two solid square structures with targets on them. "Destroy them with your magic." He added.
Arthur thought over what Tezzeret said, this place was interesting to say the least. It was a place where one could use magic to no end due to the infinite mana. He also said their abilities were multiplied, that something very difficult to do in the normal world would be easy to do here. It was a fascinating concept, Arthur had always been interested in magic and here was something that contained an unimaginable supply of it. It was amazing. He turned to Zack and the newcomer, curious to see how their sparring match was going, but before he could analyse what was happening Tezzeret said something else. He turned to see large structures that hadn't been there before. Tezzeret had said to destroy the structures. This must be the training part of coming here, a part that Arthur had almost forgotten about. Obeying what Tezzeret said, Arthur lifted his hands out infront of him. He focuseed his power and a sphere of psychic energy popped into existence at his fingertips. The sphere grew until it was about half a metre in diameter. He was careful not to focus too much mana, he didn't know what would happen if he focussed too much. He propelled the orb towards the nearest structure.
Rowan, after being trained in the art of combat, knew that charging into an opponent with some sort of contingency would mean a swift end. He was somewhat surprised that his opponent did not draw his blade, but logically, that meant that his opponent was a mage of some sort. Zack swung his arm, charged with some sort of energy. Rowan instinctively rose his left arm to block the attack, then he focused his previously prepared mana into a magic barrier to act as a shield. The attack was blocked with relative success. Rowan, while a skilled warrior, lacks the arcane proficiency to block a powerful attack. The barrier held and the attack was deflected, but Rowan could feel his mana pool depleting slowly. Sensing this, he backpedaled, absorbed the now pointless mana barrier to bolster his next attack, and swung at Zack with a slightly telegraphed attack. Almost... too telegraphed.
((Rowan is feinting(faking) inwards with what seems to be a power strike. In reality, Rowan will attack with the pommel of his blade(instead of a basic strike), into a follow-up sword-strike flurry. If your character can detect the false swipe, you can use this to counter Rowan. Of course, you could always dodge.))
