Age (about 12-18, ask special permission if you want to go older/younger): Special permission for a character with 23 years. (That's a young age for a war, but acceptable)
Gender: Male
Appearance (Pics are fine, otherwise be specific.): 5''8'' with a thin build and his face is scarred by a cut. He wears a Kuro Muji Kimono along with a traditional Japanese Strawhat and a scarf covering his face. His eyes are light green.
Faction: Neutral (It may change if he sees that any of the sides is worth fighting for.)
Weapons: A long handcrafted bamboo staff.
Equipment: A pack of travel meals and a canteen full of water.
Powers: Ability to use the Chi within him. With it, he can use it as an extension to his body, giving him strength and speed. While he may control things with his Chi, it costs him his energy and if he tries to use it more than what his body could hold.
Skills: Skillful with staffs and hand-to-hand combat.
Personality: Peaceful, calm and mostly serious. If you get to his good side and he likes you, he will be alot different, showing happiness and joy.
Backstory: The islands of Yuo Hatse were the home of the monks for over two thousand years. The monks had different clans and sides, but they never get into war and were rather peaceful and kind to each other, trying to enjoy life as much as possible. Tsan Hue was born in a small village at the south of the small island of Houjin, through his childhood, he didn't face any challenges and he always tried to be the best at his town in almost everything When Tsun Hue was thirteen, his parents encouraged him to go to the elder of the town and show him his skills in the arts. The Elder saw potential in him as a monk and sent him to the northern part of the island, into the mountains where most of the monks trained and lived. He was tested with a small trial consisting in concentration and meditation and the monks saw the power hidden within him. He passed the test and he was assigned a master, called Huey Lee. From that moment on, he begun the hard training in the arts of a monk, where he learnt how to use a staff, how to meditate and most important: How to use the Chi within him.
Tsan Hue turned eighteen and it was time to celebrate in the annual brewfest, where all monks gathered and drank together, with their strong stomachs and strong minds, they could drink as much alcohol as they wanted and stay focused and active. After that, his master told him that he was ready to be a real monk and gave him his emerald belt and the strawhat along with the scarf, signaling that he was a guardian monk. From that moment, his skills begun to improve drastically and a few years later, he was assigned with the task to investigate the southern seas, which remained a mystery. He departed to the uncharted seas in a moderately large ship with a crew of thirty monks and sea travelers, excited about his mission. In the morning of the fifth day, the crew woke up and saw a deep white mist surrounding them. They tried to keep going into the mist until a storm caught them in the ship... A lightning lit up the ship's hull and it begun to burn and sink. When Tsan Hue was going to dive into the water, an explosion made him fly off the ship and everything went black... (And on that part I would start roleplaying in the beach of the Ocean.)
Other (anything else you want to add, completely optional): This monk would be like a wizard, but instead of using 'power' he uses 'Chi' or Energy, as you may prefer, so he can get tired and die if he continues using up his Chi too much. Also, sorry for adding uncharted lands to the north, but I thought, "What would be to the north? Oh I know! Isles full of monks and separated by a magic mist that destroys ships!" I don't want a banana phone, I would love a Pineapple Phone...
Name: Sorin Markov
Age (about 12-18, ask special permission if you want to go older/younger): Gah, I try to go mid twenties most of the time.. Let's go with.. Sixteen.
Gender: Male
Appearance (Pics are fine, otherwise be specific.):
The only difference from the picture is that he doesn't have that weapon.
Faction (Auran or Corruption): Corruption
Weapons (if any, try to keep it to 2-3 at max.):
None that he carries on him at all times.
Equipment (anything except weapons):
Sorin mostly carries a pencil and paper with him at all times.
Powers (Try to keep them not-OP and sort of making sense):
Sorin has a particular ability, being able to bring words to life, mostly one syllable words for now. Such as writing "Fire" on a piece of paper, then causing it to combust. Coupled with his power is the ability to create the words in the air by his hand. Not like long distance, like floating just above his hand. A basic example would be creating the word "Sword" by his hand, then turning it into a small sword to grab hold of mid fight.
Things to start with couldn't last long (Such as making a sword, it'd probably fade away within a few seconds, not be permanent.) Upgrading the rune would cause things to last longer and eventually allow multiple word combos.
He also can't activate words he didn't write or create, and must have his hand within one inch of it to activate it or it within one inch of another word he's activating (So they could be used like a wire.)
Skills (Anything that isn't a power, but is specific to you):
Sorin has a basic understanding of sword based combat, but prefers to not fight. He's been considered a good fighter, but it's only due to his ability to "pull a sword out of thin air" mid fight and catch someone off guard.
Personality (If you don't know what this means, why are you even here?):
Sorin is a fairly bright and happy person, preferring to talk than fight. This covers up his underlying greed and lust for power.
Backstory (Also pretty much a "duh" concept, should be at least 6-7 lines long.):
Sorin grew up to a normal family, never seeming like too different. It was war that changed him. He despised the Aurans. He couldn't understand why they had to fight back. So many good people died, and this brought him to lust for greater power. With all his knowledge he worked hard to create his rune, one he could understand. Words. Anger brought him to the point of finally being able to use his rune fluidly. Sparing had always been something he was bad at, the forces of Corruption had always treated him horribly because he couldn't fight. The anger brought him to the point of summoning swords out of "nowhere" which would cause enough shock to win.
Despite his unique power, Sorin tends to be kept from the battle field, being much better at defense. However, he is willing to fight.
Other (anything else you want to add, completely optional):
((You should be at a conference in the castle, there's a letter in your house some where, just read it, barge in on our meeting, and ask what you missed.))
((Well then, I say Farewell to all of you! While I don't want to be mean, but with my experience with roleplays, this will die... But here I leave a tip for the Moderator of this Roleplay. Stay active and create new challenges and interesting plot twists so you can keep them busy in the roleplay and caught in a net of suspense. Create secrets and hidden things that the others will have to unveil, give them something to stay for, with that, they will stay here until sun goes out. Also, see ya in Ulti's bar. ^w^ Good luck with your roleplay.))
((Kokolo... Um... No. Try again. And maybe read the rest of the main post this time to figure out the story. For example, little things like:
- The Forest: A mysterious place full of monsters. Noone in living memory has made it to the other side. - The Ocean: An ocean. Big, blue, and wet. Impassable
Just two of many examples. I can tell you read the rules, but I can also tell you didn't read the rest of the post. My best advice to you is to start from scratch and try again.
Zam, you're accepted. You can start off somewhere near Zap, try to end up running into each other.
Zap, you'd be in Carsica, the Corruption HQ. I'm running through a little bit of an initiation process with the Auran guys that your character would already have been through the equivalent of, so just pay attention and apply what I say about Runes and stuff to your part of the story.))
Marcus smiles obligingly, and responds, "This is initiation. Here you will receive the Runes that will give you power. Now, some of you... *looks pointedly at James* ... already know how to use your powers. However, if you have, you have been tapping into your own life force. Runes are much more powerful and much less dangerous."
"Normally you would receive your first Runes at the age of 16. However, due to the Corruption's increasing closeness to finding an Ancient Rune, the process had to be... Sped up a bit."
"Training will begin tomorrow morning. I expect to see you on the training ground where you met James at 9:00 sharp tomorrow morning."
Frowning, Marcus looks at Alex harshly. "I see you skived off history class a few too many times. Ah, well, might as well explain it..."
"The Ancient Runes were the source of most of the wizard's power. But then the Corruption attempted to take them for darker purposes. To protect them, the Auran scattered them throughout the plain, hiding them any way they could. The problem was, the previous leader of the Auran, a man named Golan, burned the map in a fit of drunken rage. So now noone knows exactly where they are hidden. Once one faction finds the Ancient Runes, the other faction has no chance of winning the war."
"The better made a Rune is, the more powerful it is. But even the most powerful runes hold a mere fraction of the power of the Ancients."
Sorin walked around the streets of the city, nodding to people occasionally. He'd decided it'd be best to visit HQ and see how things were. The inside was amazing, sprawling with various tapestries and art lining the hall. He'd come here to meet some girl named Remi, who seemed able to use magic as well. At least, from what he'd heard.
Remi looked up, noticing a boy walk in. She didn't recognize him, and normally she didn't even look up at people entering the HQ, two people started to whisper, she heard something about weapons, and fire. She already knew they were talking about her, but didn't hear about the weapons until the boy entered, so she beckoned him over, extinguishing the flame as she did.
