If ever there was a time for something unexpected, it would probably be now. For like all unexpected events, they cannot be expected if they are to keep their status as unexpected events. At this point you might expect a sudden Spanish Inquisition, but no....that will not happen unless I say I didn't expect some sort of Spanish Inquisition.
Oops...
At this moment, 3 red robed cardinals jump onto the battlefield from the other side of the 4th wall and announce "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" Everyone, enemies and allies alike, turn to glare at me since they all know it is completely my fault. What no one realizes is the person they assume is me is really just a broom with a picture of my face attached to it.
With the clever distraction in place, I secretly poke the assassin repeatedly while playing a bagpipe, badly.

Shop [Level 5]:
Space: 29/30 Taunt [$100 | 1 use]: Taunts enemies, directing their attention toward the user. Lightning Strike [$500 | 1 use]: Deals 60 damage to 3 targets. Counter Strike [$250 | 1 use]: When the user gets attacked, they will perform a counterattack on their attacker, dealing 50% of the damage they took. SVD Stealth Sniper [$400 | 5 uses]: Deals 15 damage to a single target, with a 10% chance of landing a one-hit kill headshot. When the user is in cover, the headshot chance doubles. Dragon Tank [$800 | 50 health]: Summons a Dragon Tank armed with a flamethrower that deals 18-25 damage based on creativity of its use, but must reload every 4 uses. Tentacle Pack [$650 | Immediate use]: Applies four manually controlled tentacles to the user. These tentacles each have their own health values and deal 6 damage each. If a tentacle dies, the user loses 25 health. Riot Shield [$500 | 50 health]: Gives buyer a defensive shield to provide a 50% resistance to damage. Damage resisted goes to the shield. Maniac Armor [$650 | 60 armor]: Equips user with a suit of armor that increases attack damage by 10, but denies the ability to use shop items. User takes 20 damage when armor is destroyed. Life Orb [$1,250 | 1 use]: Restores 60 health to all players and friendly NPCs. Also adds 20% revival to downed players. Can only be used once per wave. Oracle System [$600 | 3 uses]: Marks an enemy for death, causing them to take 150% damage. Leechgun [$750 | 5 uses]: Deals 15 damage and restores 10 health to the user. Cannot sap health from armored targets. Drop Shield [$600 | 3 uses]: Deploys a shield over an ally that provides full protection from damage and heals the target under the shield every turn. The shield breaks after taking 120 damage. Penetrating Rounds [$500 | 3 uses]: When used with another item or normal attack, the attack will penetrate the target and hit the next enemy, and have a 50% chance to penetrate that enemy. The chance to penetrate halves with continued penetrations, with a minimum chance of 1%. Combat Armor [$300 | 100 armor]: Provides a 50% resistance to damage until armor absorbs 100 damage. XCOM Medkit [$300 | 1 use]: Restores 40 health to a single player or NPC. When used on a WIA player, increases their revival by 40%. Also partially cures poison. Hacked Cyberdisk [$800 | 50 health]: Summons a friendly Cyberdisk that automatically fires a grenade that deals 15 damage to 3 enemies every wave. Also has a laser that deals 10 damage and has no cooldown. High-Frequency Zantankuto [$750 | 4 uses]: Deals 20 damage and breaks armor and shields. Also destroys vehicle and drone armor. EHT (Emergency Hospital Teleporter) [$750 | 1 use]: Incapacitates a player for one turn, but fully heals them. While incapacitated, players cannot be damaged. Can also be used on WIAs. Effectonator [$600 | 1 use]: Curses a target with a random status condition from this list: Galvanization (Health drain, stun, weakened attacks), poison (Health drain), stunning (Obvious), withering (Slowing health drain, health numbers becoming nigh unreabable), and fire (Health drain). Sun Magnetizer [$1,000 | 3 uses]: Deals 100 damage, has a 50% chance to ignite target, with a 10% chance of severe burns. Can only be purchased if buyer has no additional purchased items. Advanced Battle Armor [$1,500 | 100/250 armor]: Gives buyer a suit of advanced armor with two layers. The energy shield provides full protection and has 100 health, and reflects 25% of damage taken back at the attacker. Recharges every wave. Armor plating provides 50% protection, but takes 75% of damage. All damaged absorbed by plating is permanent. Medic Drone [$650 | 70 health]: Automatically restores 20 health to the player with the least health. Carryall Backpack [$750 | 3 uses]: Restores 50% of uses to an item. Can be used to support teammates. Mind Control Kit [$800 | 2 uses]: Temporarily converts target into a friendly. Hacked Alien Drone [$400 | 25 health]: Fires a laser that deals 5 damage, but will heal damaged cybernetic allies if they are damaged. Can be ordered to self-destruct, dealing 15 damage to three enemies. Robot Repair Kit [$400 | 4 uses]: Restores 30 health to robotic allies and restores 25 health to player armor. Matrix World Edit [$500 | 1 use]: Generates a piece of cover or environmental hazard of a random level. Lightning Bolter [$950 | 6 uses]: Fires a large sphere of electricity that deals 40 damage to humans and 32 damage to machines. Also has a 30% chance to hit nearby enemies (The ones above and below the target on the player list). Carton of Milk [$300 | 1 use]: Instantly cures all status conditions on a player or friendly NPC, whether those conditions are positive or negative. Lightning Taser [$400 | 3 uses]: Deals 10 damage to a target and stuns them. Motor Trampoline [$600 | 25 health]: Summons a Motor Trampoline that follows between waves and can be used to make a player aerial for 1 turn, doubling their damage and halving their chance of being hit by attacks. Can also be used as a piece of average cover with a capacity of 3. Vintage Lisharon Field Hospital [$1,100 | 1 use]: Builds an indestructible Lisharon field hospital that does not follow between waves and functions as an environmental hazard that deals 100 damage to enemies. Also applies a status condition from this list: Poisoning, burning, withering, amputation (Greatly reduces attack damage), finger amputation (Less extreme version of amputation), insanity (Attacks have a 30% chance to backfire and damage self), blindness, deafness (Cannot be healed from other sources), sugar crash (reduces victim's damage output by 66%), common cold (slow health drain that is incurable), allergies (triples victim's damage taken), and death (obvious, deals 5% of a boss' maximum health as damage). All conditions are temporary. Hacked Sectopod [$1,200 | 150 health]: Summons a hacked Sectopod that fires two lasers that each deal 25 damage, and counters attacks with another laser that deals 10 damage. HITRON Chopper [$900 | 70 health]: Summons a helicopter that deals 30 damage, but required players to manually use it. Can only attack once per turn, and must reload after 3 firings. Can also evacuate civilians instead of attacking to keep them safe until the chopper is destroyed. Plasma Blade/Blaster [$650 | 8 uses]: Can be used as a blade or blaster. In Blade mode, deals 20 damage and has a 50% chance to cause vaporization (Deadlier burning), and a 20% chance to cause severe vaporization, but consumes two uses when used. In Blaster mode, deals 15 damage and has a 50% chance to cause burning and a 20% chance (10% for armored targets) to penetrate enemies and hit the next listed one, but only deals 10 damage to machines. Sword of Insanity [$800 | 3 uses]: Deals 100 damage, but makes the user insane, causing them to lose 20 health every turn the own it until it breaks. Cannot be sold. Results in faster bleeding out when WIA. Engietech SFBR [$850 | 20 uses]: Deals 10 base damage, with multiple firing modes. Automatic deals double damage, but consumes 2 uses. Burst deals 30 damage, but consumes 3 uses. Semi-Auto deals 10 damage, and has a 25% chance to pierce armor. Unload deals 5 damage times the number of uses, but consumes all remaining uses instantly. Laser Sight [$500 | 3 uses]: Increases the damage of any held item by 5, and adds a 50% chance to blind the target. Stacks with rage. When attached to a Stealth Sniper, it retains the uses of the Sniper used in the combination, increases the damage, and doubles the headshot chance. However, it doesn't blind, the two cannot be separated, and taking cover does not increase headshot chance. V-Stun Wave [$1,000 | 1 use]: Deals 2 damage to all enemies and stuns each of them. Can only be used once per wave. Engietech Dismemberer Blade [$1,000 | 4 uses]: Deals 65 damage and applies amputation to target. Has a 5% chance to cause total dismemberment, which deals 70% of target's max health as additional damage (45% for minibosses, 10% for bosses) and deals 20 damage to user. Blades of Sin [$1,000 | 8 uses]: Damage dealt is equal to 50% of the target's health. Hits all enemies at once, but can't kill any of them. Bosses cannot be hit. Price increases depending on how much health the buyer has left (maximum price is $1,100). Loses one use for every enemy affected (if more than 8 enemies are alive, only 8 will be hit). AGM-173 Trinity [$2,500 | 1 use]: Instantly kills target and deals 20% of maximum health as damage to bosses, along with 100 splash damage to nearby targets. Hits 2 turns after use. Accuracy is affected by number of designators (maximum of three per turn). Accuracy is 17% multiplied by number of designators (six designators provides 100% accuracy). Using an Oracle System on the target counts as one designation. With 3/6 accuracy or less, if the missile hits at all, it may hit a random enemy that isn't the original target.

What difficulty is this again? Hard? Impossible?
I shove two defibrillators onto fseftr's chest and yell, "Clear!" Nothing happens, because there aren't any electric outlets for the defibrillator plugs. Fseftr is so shocked by this discovery that his heart restarts anyway!
I announce to the world that I am planning on opening a new field hospital. Furthermore, FearTheKumquat shall be the first admitted patient. He starts feeling better right away, and I didn't have to actually build the place.
Zeus Exclusion Zone 4X
$2500
200 HP
4 independently targeting miniguns wreak havoc on the enemies.
Each minigun deals 20 damage to a random enemy.
If there are less than 4 enemies, it's possible for 2 or more miniguns to target the same enemy.

Hard. There's no WIA on Impossible.

I've fallen and I can't get up! People from Life Alert show up to try to market their product to me, swarming me with annoying pamphlets. Just outside the crowd, I see three gents in familiar red garb.
"I didn't expect this kind of Spanish Inquisition!" I yell.
"NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!" the lead cardinal shouts, leaping into the fray with his companions and beating down the salesmen with soft cushions. In the confusion, I snag the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, perform the proper throwing ritual, and chuck it at the Haxorus, blowing him to tiny bits.

In the confusion, I snag the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, perform the proper throwing ritual, and chuck it at the Haxorus, blowing him to tiny bits.
Before you bleed to death, you deal 9 damage to the Haxorus!
Me: I punch Haxorus in the nose for 6 damage
Hostiles: Haxorus uses Outrage on Scolipede, but hits TT instead
Shadow Lurker: He fires at Haxorus
Exclusion Zone: It fires upon Haxorus, knocking it out
Wave complete!
+10 health and -5 rage to all!
+$880 and 80 XP from wave completion.
[The team moves forward and finds two paths to take.]
Bio: Which way do we go?
Unknown: Team, be advised. This is General McKnight. I'll be taking Marshall's place as your CO until he's recovered.
Fseftr: Great. So, what's down these hallways?
McKnight: The left hallway leads further into the compound. The right hallway leads to a storage room which contains another power generator.
TT: Alright. So which way do we go?
Choose a path to take!
Left hallway: 0 votes
This hallway leads to the main objective.
Right hallway: 0 votes
This hallway leads to a room that contains multiple storage containers and a power generator.

Right, obviously. I mean, why provide a choice when you know that us greedy, achievement-hungry players will always pick the path with crates and achievements?
Unless the obvious path is actually the plot-central way, and you know that we'll pick it, so you're moved the plot that way instead of the left path. And instead of continuing on our enemy-bashing way as normal, you've made it so that the enemies on the right path are incredibly powerful and near-invincible, then they kill us as punishment for being greedy, achievement-hungry players. And the left path is even more full of crates.
There's no kill like overkill.

Keep in mind that i am quite silly quite often. If you don't like what i'm saying, please calmly point it out to me. I wish it said "Soarvivor"

Check out my new game, Legends of Aekran!
I shove two defibrillators onto fseftr's chest and yell, "Clear!" Nothing happens, because there aren't any electric outlets for the defibrillator plugs. Fseftr is so shocked by this discovery that his heart restarts anyway!

4 independently targeting miniguns wreak havoc on the enemies.
Each minigun deals 20 damage to a random enemy.
If there are less than 4 enemies, it's possible for 2 or more miniguns to target the same enemy.
Check out my bad CTM map reviews here.
Battlefield reference? xD
After seeing Ka_Doink do this, i follow suit by laying the Ace of Hearts on FTK.
Keep in mind that i am quite silly quite often. If you don't like what i'm saying, please calmly point it out to me. I wish it said "Soarvivor"

Price increases depending on how much health the buyer has left (maximum price is $1,100). Loses one use for every enemy affected (if more than 8 enemies are alive, only 8 will be hit).

Accuracy is affected by number of designators (maximum of three per turn). Accuracy is 17% multiplied by number of designators (six designators provides 100% accuracy).
There's no kill like overkill.
You cannot mind control the last enemy in a wave!

Zeus Exclusion Zone 4X [$2,500 | 200 health]: Summons an attack vehicle armed with four independently targeting miniguns that deal 20 damage each to random enemies. If less than four enemies are alive, two miniguns can fire upon the same enemy. Enemies are more likely to target it.
