Outpost Defenders 2 is the sequel to the original game: Defending the Outposts. It takes place in 2028, one year after the events of the original game. For those who haven't played the original, here is a brief recap of the events:
A small group of American soldiers known as the Outpost Defenders were called up to rescue a high-value target; a woman named Jennifer. Upon her rescue, a terrorist group known as Cordis Die was discovered, causing the Outpost Defenders to spend numerous days tracking their leader, Clark Johnson, and his second in command, Mercer. After various events involving disguising themselves as Cordis Die infantry, a standoff on an aircraft carrier, and a large shootout in a military facility in Haiti, Clark and Mercer were captured and arrested, being sent to the federal prison of America. All was calm in America for the remainder of 2027. That is, until their next mission...
Before you start playing, let's describe the gameplay.
Health and damage: All players have 100 health. As they take damage, their health will decrease. When it hits zero, they will be downed, rendered WIA (Wounded In Action). Enemies and friendly NPCs have varying health. Players all have default attacks, which deal varying damage depending on the creativity of the attack. Attack damage ranges from 4 to 12, equating to an 8-point difference. WIA: Players are rendered WIA when their health decreases to 0. While in this state, their health will be replaced with a constantly-degrading blood meter. When the blood meter hits zero, the player dies, being rendered KIA (Killed In Action). Players mush assist in reviving the player. Player revival assists add 15% to their revival process, unless a certain perk is selected. KIA: When a player is killed, they will be unable to perform any actions until the end of the wave. Other players may take a killed players items if they specify they are donating their items. If all players are killed, it's game over. In the event of a game over, the team will lose 50% of their money and restart the wave. Additionally, their items will have their remaining uses cut in half. XP, levels, and perks: The team shares the same XP bar. Performing major actions, such as killing an enemy, saving a friendly, or completing an achievement will fill the meter. When it is full, the team levels up. Every two levels gives the team the ability to choose a new perk. The maximum level is 30. Money, the shop, and items: Like with XP, the team shares money. Completing waves and achievements will grant money. Money can be spent in the shop to buy items. Items are added to the shop via player research, and by finding 5 tactician manuals. Items improve a player's combat characteristics, provide healing, or can have other effects. Items can also be found in storage units. Players can only carry 4 items at once. Waves, chapters, and ranks: A chapter consists of multiple waves. When a wave is completed, the team moves to the next one. When all waves in a chapter are complete, the chapter will be complete. Chapters just advance the storyline. The storyline advances in a transcript style. After completing a chapter, players receive a rank. This rank ranges from F- to M. Depending on the rank, the team will receive a money bonus of varying value. F- provides no bonus. M provides the largest bonus; $1,500. Veterans: A veteran is a player who has played the original game and is returning for the sequel. Their names will appear in gold, but will have no benefits other than the ability to show off.
So, let's start the game!
[The Outpost Defenders are seen in the US military base. Their superior approaches them]
Marshall: We recently sent a squad of US soldiers to Singapore to investigate some random disappearances there. We've recently lost contact with them. We need you to retrieve those soldiers, ASAP.

Marshall: Stop bragging. Just get to Singapore.
Bio: Yes, sir.
Prologue: We're Back
Date: June 17th
Time: 09:45:18

[The Outpost Defenders are airdropped into Singapore from a VTOL.]
Bio: Well, men, welcome to Singapore. In case you're forgotten, our objective is to retrieve the MIA soldiers and bring them back to America.

I take an unknown gunner and break his spine with the unknown in his tag.
Then I swing around a large medieval flail and bash in his head with a laser blaster taped to the end of it.
Then I toss a large spiked kerosene-doused coconut into his chest.

I grab and unknown gunner, breaking his leg I punch him hard then smile grinning for the finale... "Death to come!" I grab his collar and pull him up, I then choke him and throw him on the ground, I then shoot him with a SMG and grab him, Smashing his gun and taking a knife stabbing him and twisting it, I then smash him on the ground and say. "Your Time has come to die..." I stab him with my Oblivion and walk away but before I do, I take a Rpg shoot it smashing it into skull but not shooting it, I then hit him and Burn the rest of him then send it somewhere far away... (You can edit that if it seems a bit.. Op...)

To finish off the last one I twist its arms and break its back and then stick a knife in its chest and twist it and then for the finally, I stick my hand in his chest and dig out his heart squishing it.
"Gunners? Obviously, this disappearance is linked to something larger... hopefully, we can find some info about it at some point. But for now, let's just kill them."
I realize that the gunners died as I said that, then research something instead.

I jump out of the bushes and jump kick the sniper's groin. Then I blast a rocket launcher down his throat and thwack him in the intestine with a golf club. I stuff a lit Molotov cocktail into both of his eyes and jam twenty pounds of nitroglycerin under his skin.
Also I bash open a crate with my crowbar, finding a...
Dun dun dun dun!
A bazillion rupees.
Oh boy!
I fling them all at the sniper, who chokes on a conveniently placed fly.
It is very convenient!
Plus I research the Burning Hot Betty.
Burning Hot Betty
Cauterizes enemies, removing bleeding status, but burns them as well as doing 15 damage. Can fire a huge laser beam if outside, but the laser beam instantly breaks the Burning Hot Betty.
4 uses, but only one with the laser beam.
$600 or $700, maybe.
I leap on one of the gunners and ponder what face-mauling attack I should use on him. I then decide on a very simple one; the face-maul. Once I'm done, I drop a plastic surgeon's business card on him and get off.

Hey, wait a second! What happened to all of our shop items and all of our money? Did the shop close or something? And where did the dragon tanks and drones and stuff go? And I would think heroes like us would have more money from saving the world and all. What, did the government confiscate it all?
I decide you can't be meta enough and research the Plot Device 3000.
Plot Device 3000
Does 10 base damage. Does x1.5 damage to enemies whose names start with M. Does another x1.5 damage to recurring bosses. Does another x2 damage to people who want revenge. Is instantly removed from the shop if Mercer undergoes a Heel Face Turn. Comes back if Mercer betrays us. Is permanently removed if Clark Johnson comes back from the dead. Is permanently removed if Mercer was in fact a double agent. Blows up if he is actually a triple agent or more, removing itself from the shop and doing 20 damage to people with it in their inventory.
1 use, 3 if Clark Johnson is actually alive and never died.
$500
"Hey Guys, I brought some tea." I state as I walk into the battlefield, only to have the unknown sniper shoot a hole in my jug of tea. This angers me to a point, not to the point of raging, but to the point of folding the sniper into a football and kicking him through some goal posts that sprang up out of nowhere.
Research: Lisharon's Gay Meadow Grenades
Causes a peaceful meadow to spring up around the blast radius.
Victims within the radius skip and jump and pick flowers for 1 round.
Victims within the radius take 50% more fire damage while meadow exists.
1 use
$300 - $500. Basically, its a stun grenade with the added bonus of making targets vulnerable to fire.
Lisharon's MEDEVAC
A VTOL abducts an enemy an enemy and takes them to one of Lisharon's field hospitals, removing them from the fight and from the world of the living.
Can only be used once per wave.
Does not affect bosses.
1 use
$600
Since the Lightning Strike costed $400, I thought $600 might be good for what is essentially a more focused version of that.

Giant clouds of smoke appear on a rooftop which I emerge from,
as I'm about to make my grand-return speech I trip and fall onto one of the gunners,
this causes the gunner to accidentally fire at his friend.

Shop [Level 1]:
Space: 6/10
Shop Upgrade 1 [$500 | Permanent]: Increases shop capacity to 15.
Variable Blade [$300 | 4 uses]: Deals a random amount of damage ranging from 0 to 25.
Darkness Grenade [$500 | 3 uses]: Deals 1-20 damage to an enemy and blinds them.
Burning Hot Betty [$600 | 4 uses]: Deals 15 damage to an enemy, but stops bleeding. Alt fire fires a beam that deals 45 damage, but cures all status conditions and consumes all uses immediately.
Gay Meadow Grenade [$400 | 1 use]: Grows a meadow, distracting a target for 1 turn. While frolicking in the meadow, targets take an additional 50% damage from fire.
Lisharon MEDEVAC [$600 | 1 use]: Summons a VTOL to take an enemy to one of Lisharon's field hospitals, dealing 45 damage to them.
Laser Blade [$350 | 3 uses]: When purchased, buyer has a 30% chance to reflect an attack back at the attacker, dealing 150% damage. Breaks after reflecting 3 attacks.
By the way, "gay" in the meadow grenade isn't meant to be used in the derogatory sense of the word. It also means happy or cheerful, like a meadow.
Tip: Dodgers are NPCs that have a 30% chance of avoiding attacks.
Tip: The frag grenade deals 10 damage to three targets and stuns one from shellshock.
Tip: You must keep at least three soldiers alive. If three or more die, it's game over.

Check out my new game, Legends of Aekran!
I open a cargo box and find a birthday cake. I take the birthday cake, light the candles, sharpen them with my pocket knife and throw the cake at the juggernaut.
