You follow the road south. You notice the land to the East of the road is covered in dead trees.
After a few hours of following the road, you notice what appears to be a walled encampment, with the walls being made of various bits of metal and wood. Smoke rises from the inside of the encampment.
There is a gate in plain sight on the walls, however it is closed at the moment. After a second glance, you notice a man with what appears to be a high-powered rifle guarding the gate (d20=19+1 PER). The sniper doesn't seem to be wearing any sort of a uniform, his clothes are in a rather tattered state.
The wall looks relatively solid every where else, however a closer look reveals a rusted-out panel far out of sight of the sniper (d20=17+1PER)
You casually stride up to the gates. The sniper doesn't seem to be paying much attention, he doesn't notice you until you call out to him.
"Blowout soon, fellow STALKER!"
The man jumps at the sound of your voice, and begins firing frantically in your general direction. You fail to get to cover before a bullet tears into your right leg (d20=5-1 DEX), hindering your dexterity further.
The gunshots continue for a few more seconds, until you hear the man curse after a series of clicks. His weapon has either jammed, or run out of ammunition.
Once again, nothing here but grass, and a bit of debris, presumably from your helicopter.
Off in the distance, you can see what appears to be a road.
You cannot remember anything at the moment.
It is now morning.
To the North is... more road.
To the south is... more road.

>Raise one of your arms up, using the other to put pressure on the wound, then move towards the man. We must prove we mean no harm.
You use your left (injured) hand to wave your surrender to the sniper. He shouts at you in broken English
"WHO ARE YOU!? WHAT YOU WANT!? YOU SOLDIER MAN!?"
He has a distinct accent, not unlike the men you encountered at the wreck.
The man replies
"YOU FOREIGNER, JA? FOREIGNER BRING TROUBLE, HELP SOMEWHERE ELSE!"
You raise your wounded hand a bit higher
"WE DON'T HAVE MEDICINE FOR US, WE DON'T HAVE MEDICINE FOR YOU."
A small crowd seems to be gathering behind the wall.
