Mario blinks

In Super Mario 64, Mario blinks every 64 frames, or ~2.13 seconds. Interestingly, Princess Peach also blinks every 64 frames, but she has an offset of 32 frames. This means that Peach blinks halfway between each of Mario's blinks, and they blink in perfect sync. This can be easily seen during the end cutscene.

I'm sure most people already know this one, but here it goes for those that don't...

In Super Mario 3D Land at the end of world 4-4: If the player stands on the short wall behind the Flagpole facing the fence and waits for a number of seconds, a ghostly figure will appear slowly out of the background. Once enough time passes, it will unexpectedly open its mouth wide and flash, while fading out at the same time.

In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, if Link stands perfectly still next to a fairy flying around, it may land on either his sword or his hat.

In Persona Q, the theme is a mix of Persona 3 and Persona 4's. Persona 3's theme is death, and Persona 4's theme is truth. The theme of Persona Q is also understood to be life by the fandom.

In Super Mario World, the player can access a secret world called Star World by finding the secret exit in certain levels. Its primary purpose is speedrunning, since it lets you quickly reach the final boss by finding the secret exit in the fourth Star World level. However, if you find the secret exit in the fifth Star World level, you'll gain access to Special World. This is an 8-level gauntlet of incredibly difficult levels that, upon completion, unlocks an autumn theme for all levels. The music in Special World is a nice beat without a discernable melody. However, if you stay idle on Special World for long enough, the Super Mario Bros. theme will start playing!

In Dragon Quest, there is a group of spells that can instantly kill foes. These spells are Whack, Thwack, and Kathwack. All of these spells attempt to kill the target(s) by stopping the heart (or nearest approximate) with a sudden surge of despair.

In Super Smash Bros Ultimate, it is possible to reflect Thwack, as it counts as a projectile despite it not moving.

In Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, there are several references to the number eight. Some of these examples are:

• The title is exactly eight syllables long.
• Agent 8, also known as No. 10008, is the protagonist.
• The expansion has exactly eighty levels.
• Some levels require the player to push an "eight-ball" to the goal.

Byleth is the protagonist of Fire Emblem: Three House. He is the eighth playable Fire Emblem character being added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the 17th Fire Emblem game. If you count in binary on your hand, you will be holding up your three middle fingers. Counting in binary is a great way to pass the time when you’re bored.

In Super Mario 64, Mario will fall asleep after turning his head to the left and right ten times. However, if he is in a cold course, he will instead start shivering. Interestingly, there is a third, unused idle animation which seems to be Mario crying. It is speculated that this was originally intended for Big Boo's Haunt.

OT

In Splatoon 2, you are able to freely explore maps by using Recon mode. This allows you to get a taste of what the maps have to offer on certain gamemodes. However, there are some differences in this mode than real gameplay:

• In Splat Zones, even if you capture all the zones in the map, the timer for your team will not tick down.
• In Tower Control, riding the tower all the way to the end does not end Recon.
• In Rainmaker, going all the way to the goal does not make your character dunk the Rainmaker and end Recon.
• In Clam Blitz, no matter how many clams you score, your counter will not tick down.

While Link from The Legend of Zelda series is famous as a silent protagonist, there are actually a few occasions where it seems Link talks of his own accord (not just a dialogue choice):

• "I found a mirror" in Zelda II
• "Come on!" in Wind Waker
• Link also comments on some roasted fish in Breath of the Wild.

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Melmetal is the only Pokemon who has a G-Max form, but is currently inaccessible.
