It sounded too good to be true. An old mansion was now my property? Maybe there was some kind of old treasure! And even if there wasn't, a mansion was nice to have. It was built in a small valley next to a river, it was said to be a very nice place to be. The truth however, was vastly different. Sure, it was in a valley next to a river, but nobody ever told me that it was a haunted mansion, and that every night monsters appeared with a desire to murder me. The mansion also seemed to be in a strange alternate dimension, as I was unable to leave the mansion grounds, unable to communicate with the outside world, and mysterious weather was commonplace.
---
Greetings, person! And welcome to !
This RP takes place in, surprise surprise, a Mansion!
Though, the Mansion is not a nice place to be. It is impossible to leave the Mansion Grounds and monsters come out at night. Some monsters are weak but others are very strong, but they all have the same goal: They want you dead.
So naturally it's up to you to try and survive. During daytime it's safe so you can gather things that somehow appear during the nighttime (like food, weapons and other items) and then you try to stay alive at night. You could build up a fort and fight those that attack, or you could just lock yourself in a room and hope for the best.
But even if you don't have to worry about monsters during the daytime, other players might also have reasons to kill you. Who will you trust in your endeavour to survive and ultimately find out the secrets behind the Mansion?

Rules: 1. No Godmodding, Metagaming and other unfun activities 2. Romance is allowed, but take 'lovemaking' and such to a PM. (Unless you want to get in trouble with the Moderators and be banned from this RP) 3. No insta-kills, autohits or dodging everything. Take hits (Don't forget that a hit is not necessarily a lethal one.) 5. You can't undo things. What this means is that if you do something, you can't go back on it unless EVERYONE agrees. 6. Certain powers are too OP. (Like cloaking, Teleportation, flight, mind reading, etc.). Your characters are not allowed to be too powerful either, and certainly not immortal. 7. I reserve the right to make the final call on disagreements that cannot otherwise be settled and order you to change things if you break a rule. 8. To show that you read these rules, put the one thing that's missing from this rule list in 'Other' (Hint: It's a number) 9. You can only join during Daytime (RP Daytime, that is). 10. Be realistic in regard to some things like moving around, being wounded and combat. (You can't run through 4 rooms and up two flight of stairs to cut someone's throat while bleeding to death with only one leg and a spear in your head.) This also applies to conversation, so no talking to people who are not in the same room as your character 11. Character death is permanent (unless I agree with it not being permanent). Apply for a new character if your old character died. Necromancy is possible if you have everything that you need. A revived character will be in control of the original owner of the character unless the owner wants to give the character to the user that revived them. 12. I have the right to deny any character that is either to OP or does not fit in. If a character is denied, I'll respond with why it is denied and a suggestion on how to change it so it will be accepted without having to design a new character. Most characters fit in as long as they are not too big or something. 13. If you do not list an ability in the character form, you do not have it unless you gain that ability later (If you wish to gain an ability, PM me.)
14. Having multiple characters is allowed, but don't go overboard with them.
15. It is possible to play a Plot Character, but only if you PM me first and ask for permission. Plot Characters get additional knowledge that other characters don't have and their main purpose is to advance the plot.
The Map:
The map is divided into regions. Each region is a room or a part of a room/outdoor space. You can travel between regions that are connected. A thick grey line (but not as thick as walls) represents a door, a dotted line means that there is no door or anything and a grey piece of wall means that there is a secret door. Light Gray 'walls' represent map boundaries and can't be traversed.
The map will be expanded in the future (and there will be events related to additional areas becoming unlocked). Both Stairwells can't be accessed and players can thus not go to the basement or upper floors yet.
Only characters with knowledge of secret doors and monsters can use secret doors.

- Cursed Fog
B
S
This unusual fog is green in colour, and screams can be heard coming from within. Those who are caught in it lose all ability to navigate, and end up walking in circles unless they find someone to help them. Someone caught in Cursed Fog can find their way to the source of a sound, but the Screams are very distracting. Monsters do not suffer from this, and can easily hunt down people caught in the Cursed Fog. Cursed Fog can travel through open doors into the Mansion.
Demon Fog
B
S
Demon Fog is like Cursed Fog, but purple in colour, and more dangerous. Monsters can appear in the fog even during daytime, and the Fog can also creep into the building via Monster Holes and Open Doors.
Blood Moon
N
B
During a Blood Moon, the Moon turns red, and Monsters appear in higher quantity than usual.
Blood Rain
B
O
It starts raining blood, which hurts people caught in it. Monsters are unaffected. It also causes any water outside to turn to blood. These puddles remain until it rains or the blood is otherwise drained.
---- Character form:
Name: Sunset Shimmer
Species: Pony
Appearance: It's in my signature.
Abilities: Telekineses, Eagle eyesight, Healing for small wounds,
Backstory (Optional): She lives in a house about 2 miles away from the mansion, her friend the mare lives in it (Shes an NPC currently and will be a backup if and when Sunset dies)
Other: She is currently at outdoor area 1
Some minor problems with this app, but fixing them is not a problem:
- There are no NPCs besides monsters and the Mansion itself is abandoned
- You forget to put in Other what you were supposed to put in other. (Read the rules)
Otherwise accepted, but what good does Eagle Sight do if you're indoors?
Appearance: Profile picture. He turns into a four wheeled vehicle.
Abilities: Can transform into a vehicle, is Cybertronian and is thus made of metal, has a sick nasty sword that draws on power from the user's spark.
Backstory: Had been looking for the Knights of Cybertron before being exiled because he had brought Overlord on board the ship and had stored him in the cargo hold.

Backstory (Optional): She lives in a house about 2 miles away from the mansion.
Other: (Rule #4)
Accepted, but keep in mind that the house can't be accessed during the RP (unless it becomes available later on, but I will state when that is).

You forgot the Other Part and what's supposed to be in there. Fix that and you're accepted. Do keep in mind that even if the character is made out of metal they can still be damaged. (Being made out of metal might even be disadvantageous unless there's a character around that is either an engineer or can manipulate metal to fix your character if damaged).

Flight: Can use wings to hover for about a minute, or to extend jumps.
Physical traits: Can hear better than average, vision is poor but can withstand bright and flashing lights, feathers don't provide armor but do insulate against cold. Can use tails to steer or change direction in midair, however, their weight hampers flight. Monkey + Lemur Tails: Prehensile, used to pick things up as a substitute for hands. Fairly strong, can be used to hang or swing on.
Striped Tail: Has a sphere on the end that lights up. It's as bright as a flashlight and glows red.
Dragon Tail: Armored against most physical attacks, acids, fire, and magic. This protection doesn't extend anywhere else.
(All other tails lack any particular abilities or uses. They're aesthetic.)
Light Manipulation: A sort of magic. Can use wings to diffuse or focus light through them, or change its color to an extent. It's ordinary, nonmagical light. Mostly uses this power for entertainment. Needs a preexisting light source to work. Her glowing tails count.
Backstory (Optional): Rant is a nomadic treasure hunter. She can eat all sorts of things, so she doesn't need the money, but she enjoys the sense of purpose and adventure. And the shiny things.
Other: Has a tendency to trip over or run into things. She's not stupid, but she's not taking things particularly seriously either. Holds to the false belief that she can walk away from the Mansion any time.

Thanks. And what was I supposed to put under "Other"? I'll edit the post, it wasn't quite clear in the OP.
The question startles Lunacia, as she wasn't aware that anyone was here. She considers launching books at the voice but quickly dismisses the idea. Instead she decides to hide.

OOC: Please don't forget to state Character Location clearly (for example like I did now, even though it differs from what I stated in the OP) to avoid confusion. Also, if I do GM: instead of OOC: it means that either I settle a dispute or something else that's important happens.
Theres got to be someone here, someone worth trusting. I know someone or something is here, may be wrong but`I need help. I need to find out why this place is so strange.
She begins to search for books that can help her Still in Library West.
GM: (Will also be used to give information)
The library is quite messy. The many shelves full of books are covered in cobwebs, dust, and have collapsed at some places. The floor isn't that clean either, as loads of books lie all around, some on piles of up to 1 metre tall. The books seem to be written in all kinds of languages, some recognisable, whereas others aren't. Sunset has no clue what she's looking for, and being a Pony doesn't really help when trying to reach the higher rows of books. Eventually she spots the same hole Lunacia spotted before; a wide hole in the floor, pitch black and with mysterious eyes glowing deep down, accompanied by a low growling noise.
She backs away from the hole, pupils shrinking a little bit as the slightest fear, noticing it is dangerous most likely. She opens up one of the books that has a recognizable language, and hoping it contains information about the mansion and why it is so odd.
GM: The book is a collection of notes on all kinds of things, though Sunset has no clue what the notes are for, as no note states what it is about, it only has a random number as a title. No number is used twice. Perhaps keeping the notebook is useful once the meaning of the numbers is uncovered.
IC:
Lunacia peeks out from her hiding place. Using her poltergeist abilities she built a makeshift cover out of books. Her small size means that the shelter isn't too big, and she is startled by a screech coming from the hole, causing her to loose concentration, making her shelter audibly collapse.

Lunacia knows what this means, and is horrified and runs away from the hole, to somewhere else in the Library

OOC: Is it possible to have a character on the monster's side?
OT:
Name: Garfield (Yay another RP with Garfield) [/i]
Species: Cat with human traits[/i]
Appearance: A Orange obese cat.[/i]
Abilities: Not much, apart from his insults slowly building up rage within his enemies, making them hit harder, but easier to dodge, soon they will tire.[/i]
Backstory (Optional): doot doot [/i]
Other: Rule 4.[/i]
Garfield is currently in the outdoor area 1.

Sure is odd. Looks spooky. I'm Drift, a Cybertronian. I wonder if any other people will show up.
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king
OOC: Accepted. Also, having a character that is on the monster's side is possible, but only after discussing it with me first.
It's been an hour, time for me to apply!
Name: Rant
Species: Chimera
Appearance:
(this image doesn't show all tails)
Abilities:
Backstory (Optional): Rant is a nomadic treasure hunter. She can eat all sorts of things, so she doesn't need the money, but she enjoys the sense of purpose and adventure. And the shiny things.
Other: Has a tendency to trip over or run into things. She's not stupid, but she's not taking things particularly seriously either. Holds to the false belief that she can walk away from the Mansion any time.
Garfield walks into the mansion.
"Hey, what are you bozos doing here?"
Garfield is now in the foyer if I am correct.

OOC: Why do so many people forget to put in other what I tell them to put in other? Maybe I should move that rule so it becomes clearer. Anyways, your character is accepted, great work nerfing flight to be acceptable and not making the powers too OP.
Thanks. And what was I supposed to put under "Other"? I'll edit the post, it wasn't quite clear in the OP.
OOC: Yeah, I will gimme a sec.
Also, day & Night updates will be done every day at around 18:00 UTC
The Rule list skipped rule number 4, that's what I meant with the thing the rules list is missing
