The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
It's a sort of RPG where a large party of players fight enemies. It could be an army, a single powerful being, doesn't matter. The effectiveness of your attacks are decided by the dice.
The Dice of Fate
The Dice of Fate... The mythical object that determines how your actions play out.
No one knows what the origins of this mysterious object is... maybe you'll find out during the course of the story?
D1 = Unlucky. Your move will backfire.
D2 = You deal minor damage to yourself.
D3 = Miss. You deal no damage.
D4 = Impact! You deal the intended amount of damage with your attack.
D5 = It's a critical! You deal extra damage.
D6 = SMAAAAAASH!! You deal massive damage to the enemy! However, the sheer scale of your attack damages you slightly.
Here's an example.
EarthBound Style (Page 1 - 18):
"I hit the metal gear with my heavy briefcase"
He rolled a 3.
"I cast a meteorite-summoning spell targeted at the enemy"
He rolled a 5.
Traditional RPG Style (Page 19 - current):
Currently the enemy that is being fought right now is Mario & Luigi: and here's what the battle looks like.
Mechanics are still the same; it's just different visually. Here's a few examples again:
"I proceed to cast Protect, increasing everyone's defense the next time they get attacked."
They rolled a 2.
"I throw yarn at mario"
They rolled a 5, however Mario & Luigi have the ability to counter attack and dodge if they get a roll of 1 or 2, respectively.
To be added into the party, all you need to do is use an attack, and you'll automatically be added to the game.
Feel free to join anytime, I don't mind if it gets a little cramped.
All players begin with 5 HP. You can increase max HP with items found strewn about the castle. Your HP is decreased through the enemy/enemies attacking you, obviously. When you're dead, you can attempt to revive. You can roll the dice while dead, and if you get a roll of 6, you're back in action. Another person may also attempt to revive a dead player.
Attack summons do not require dice, but they are weak in return. A healing summon requires a coin flip.
A player using an attack is an action. A full "turn" is when 4 players have attacked.
The Enemy: (Edited 9/30/2016)
The time it takes for an enemy to attack is dependent on their speed stat. For example, if a police officer has a speed stat of 4, he would attack after 4 players have used actions.
Enemies may have different abilities that break the rules of the game; like Mario & Luigi, who can counter-attack or dodge if they get a roll of 2 or 1 respectively when someone attacks them.
After every 10 encounters, an exploration phase is reached in which some story will happen and the group will progress further into the castle. A dice for each person will be rolled at this point and if a 5 and above is rolled, an item will appear for that person. I will decide item effects as we go, however once I start to run out of ideas, max HP will just be increased.
Enemies will vary. I'll pick random mythical creatures, everyday objects, video game characters, you name it.
Oh, yeah... I had no idea what I was doing in the first few pages, so health and stuff is a little confusing there. There's no need to read through it all, just go through the story summary.
There is a bit of story in this game but I'm not very original. If you have any ideas, PM me
A lone traveller (Niko) dismounts their horse. They are at the gates of Ecclesia. Memories come back to haunt them; it was at this castle, 5 years ago, that they had stormed the cursed structure with a party and defeated its king. The undead king's greatest treasure was a magical dice. The traveller had managed to salvage it before the living castle took him with it. He was the only survivor.
The story so far (Updates as the game goes on):
I know it can be annoying when you join one of those types of games really late. That's why this is a recount that'll update every time something important happens!
Come back anyway while you're playing to make sense of the plot!
He clutches the cursed dice tightly in his hand, looking at the castle. Why has it returned? Who's behind this? Answers would be found within the castle.
Chapter 0: Introduction

Chapter 1: A Hopeless Masquerade
Alternate Title: Partners in Time
Page 4 - 6 spoilers:
They hear a metal whirring... a Metal Gear!! The Metal Gear was truly a fearsome adversary as the party found themselves low on health after a energy, gunfire and missile burst by it. Marisa and Taco, 2 party members, devise a plan to hurt the Metal Gear a lot. Marisa would poison Taco and throw him at it. This succeeded, but Taco was lost until Marisa brought him back. However, it was a just a clone, as the original Taco was still in the Metal Gear. The Metal Gear is beaten down into half-dead state, in which it starts to flee through a portal... along with the original Taco. The party follows the Metal Gear into the portal..
Page 6 - 7 spoilers:
The party feels nauseous as they step out of the portal. Suddenly, they spot a familiar figure! It's the original Taco... but he doesn't have good news. He tells the party that he must kill them in order to prevent the future from ruin. This means that the party has travelled into the future! 1000 years, to be exact.
The party asks him questions, tries to reason with him, and even doubts that those events are going to transpire, but it all doesn't matter as the fight against the original Taco begins!!
Page 8 - 10 spoilers:
The original Taco presents them with a shocking information. They were in a time loop! They continue fighting.
Page 12 - 14 spoilers:
Pokemad casts ToonWorld, sending the party & Org.Taco into a Final Fantasy-like battle. Marisa & Matt agree to attack Org.Taco together, with Matt using a water spell to make Org.Taco a conductor and Marisa using her mini-hakkero, a magical furnace that can send out a large burst of energy. They agree on this plan.
Matt summons a sword and thrusts it into a ground, splashing Org.Taco with water. He is then launched upwards into the sky.
Marisa flies up into the air to intercept Taco. She holds him up with magic. Marisa tells Taco that he is not the person he used to be. Therefore, he is just...
"a hopeless masquerade."
Taco hand waves this and retorts that he is still fighting for good. Marisa is not fazed and asks who the people manipulating him were. To her dismay, she does not get a response.
Marisa moves onto the next step and states to Taco that if he does not turn back time, she would use her hakkero to end Taco's life in agony. Taco does not even get a full sentence after 'No' before Marisa immediately blasts him with her hakkero. Taco instantly complies and they are sent back in time to page 5, the near-end of the Metal Gear fight, and most importantly... before the fateful event that left Taco as a manipulated time traveller.
They destroy the Metal Gear. Taco starts to remember something. Marisa tells Taco to keep at it - Taco's memories of the multiple timelines that existed tell of a secret organisation operating in the past, present and future! Taco obtains The Anomaly - the time-travelling sword he had used in the battle against the party.
Chapter 2: The Raid Continues
Page 15 - 18 spoilers:
An organisation that is advanced enough to have time travel technology... They're most likely behind everything, even the reappearance of Ecclesia.
Shaken by the past encounter, the party continues on, only to encounter a Metroid.
Page 19 - current spoilers:
They kill the Metroid and move on to the room it was guarding. They enter, only to find the Mario Bros. in front of a wormhole that looks exactly like what the Metal Gear used! A fight begins.
Chapter 3: The Gate
Page 30 - current spoilers:
For some strange reason, the Mario Bros. retreat. Was it because they feared they were going to lose the battle? Or something else? Regardless, with no other options, the group follows them into the portal. A large, booming voice speaks to them, introducing itself as the Gatekeeper. It presents the party with two destinations: Microsoft Paintland, or a zeppelin. The party agrees to travelling to Microsoft Paintland. Once they arrive there, the party can tell that the place looks horrible. It was a warzone. Two soldiers notice the party. The fight begins.
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
What was with that man? He wore strange clothing. Anyways, the lone traveller (Niko) has made a smelly friend. Both of you open the gates and move towards the door. You don't notice a ghost behind you until it attacks!
