Here, we each represent a different party in our Nation's Government. A different political party if we were a Democracy, but right now, different families in this Aristocracy.
Our goal: To rule the world through Culture, Diplomacy, Technology, War or other methods!
Technological Victory. If we built a rocket and send it to Alpha Centauri, we win when it arrives.
Cultural Victory: We win if we have 3 cities with legendary status.
Domination Victory: We win if we own 65% of the world, and our population is 30% bigger than the second biggest nation's population.
Diplomatic Victory: Get elected for a Diplomatic Victory at the United Nations
Time Victory: Have the highest score by 2050 AD
Conquest Victory: Eliminate all other Civilizations
How to join? Simple. Just state the name of your House/Family/Party, and what they deem is the best way to rule the world. Once you've done that, you can start voting for our next action when the opportunity to do so arises. Here is my House/Family/Party, as an example:
House Aperture
House Aperture believes that the best way to rule the world is through Scientific Innovation. As such, they will be voting for options that benefit Science.
Here is our current status:
Our Nation, a bunch of Tribes that have decided to work together, has finally settled down. Our first city has been named Panopticon, and our explorers are heading out to explore the world.
We are currently a Aristocracy, new units gain 4 Experience points.
People have more or less powers depending on the current form of Government.
Aristocracy: Everyone gains 1 vote everywhere, except in their Cities, where they gain 2.
Monarchy: The Monarch only gets control over the Capital, everyone else only gets control over their own cities. Tech & Foreign voting remains the same, except for Players without a City, who gain 2 votes there (but have no power anywhere else).
Random.org decides who the Monarch is.
The Monarch remains in power until either a Coup happens, or he changes the Government Civic
Republic: The Players vote for a President instead of Random.org, there is no further difference from a Monarchy. Elections are held every so often, so one person does not stay president permanently.
Autocracy: Same as Monarchy, except the Dictator gets 2 votes everywhere except in Player's cities.
Democracy: Random.org votes for a President, He gains 2 votes everywhere, and everyone else gains 1 vote. (Except in their cities, where they gain 2.). Elections are held every so often, so one person does not stay president permanently.
In an Aristocracy, players have more control over their own cities, but nowhere else. The decisions they make in their cities can still be overruled by a majority.
In a Monarchy, the Monarch holds nigh-absolute power. Only in their own cities do other players have control. Players without cities gain an advantage in foreign policy.
In a Republic, the Players get to choose who they think is best suited for a role as President.
In an Autocracy, the Dictator has supreme power over everything but Player's cities.
In a Democracy, Elections are held more often than in a Republic. The President does not hold full power.
Coups.
Players can attempt a Coup by building an Army in their city, and sending that army to the Capital. When the Army of the Player who attempts a Coup reaches the Capital, the Strongest Army wins (Either the Governmental Army, or the Player's Army.) If the Government wins, the Player loses control over their city until someone else gains power.*
If the Player wins, he gets to choose the new Government Civic. If he chooses Monarchy or Autocracy, he is the one who becomses the Monarch/Dictator. Multiple Players can participate in a Coup, but if
they win, the Nation becomes either a Republic or Democracy. (Democracy if available. Republic otherwise. Aristocracy if there is no other possibiilty.)
* They are counted as cityless. (See Monarchy)
Special Player Buildings: (Can only be built in one city, there can only one Special Building per city. That city is counted as that Player's City)
MORE TO BE ADDED IF MORE PLAYERS JOIN.
Aperture: Increased Science Production in City
Threll: Increased Commerce in City.
Pano-Militarist: Starting Promotion for Units built in City.
Coalition: Increased Production in City.
Also, I'll wait a bit longer before I update. Everyone that joins before I start gets a special building that they can order to be built in a city that is not our capital. Any vote they make regarding the city they have their building in gets counted twice, but they can only have one of those, and there can only be one of those buildings per city. So you need to think quickly whether or not you want to have your building built in a specific city, since others might beat you too it. But it might also be the case that you want to wait, in the hope for a better city to settle in.
Also: Here are the ways we can win:
Technological Victory. If we built a rocket and send it to Alpha Centauri (Or was it Beta Centauri? Can't remember), we win when it arrives.
I expanded the rules a bit to make it a bit more realistic (hopefully).

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king
Alright, the first 5 Players/Houses/Whatever have been given a building. I'll wait 24 more hours before I start. If you join before that, you'll get a special building, meaning that your benefit will actually benefit the town it's built in (Or something similar, at least). If you join after I start, you won't get a special building, meaning that your benefit won't be put into the game. Every player without a building will have to share a city in which we built a special building, meaning that they can be president and such, but the presidency/dictatorship is shared among everyone that does not have a city/building.
Some role/specialization suggestions:
- Navy
- Expansion
- National Matters (Infrastructure, Mines, Farms, etc.)
We haven't started yet though, and you can only decide in which city to build your own HQ (Threll Collective), as long as it does not already have a HQ. HQs may also not be built in our capital.
Anyway, I'm considering whether I should start now, or wait until more people join. I can't give people that join later HQs...
I've also added a few promotions that we can give to our units to make things more interesting, like the AI promotion (very late game) that gives the unit that has that promotion a 15% strength increase (which is a lot), but causes them to gain 50% less XP
Edit: I might also edit the building stats a bit, to make them a bit more balanced in regard to other HQs.
It doesn't have an HQ yet and the HQ will be on it's own in the forest, everything else can be built in the capital right?
You can only build improvements outside of cities, so the HQ has to be a city building in order to have significant effect.
And yes, everything can be built in the Capital and any other cities we might have, but:
A National Wonder can only be built once per Nation, and only 2 National Wonders may be built in a city.
A World Wonder can only be built once per game.
A Building can only be built once per city.
Units can be built as often as we want.
Due to the changes I've made the starting position will be different, but I'll post the updated start when we actually start the game.
After being nomads for as long as anyone can remember, our tribes finally settled down. While originally separate tribes, we have decided to work together, and thus the Crimson Union was born. Power in the Crimson Union was divided among the leaders of tribes, with the biggest tribes gaining the most power. We were an Aristocracy.
Our first city was called Panopticon, and a scouting party was soon sent to explore.

"Meditation will give us a Religion, which makes our citizens happier if we adopt it as a state religion. Furthermore, it unlocks the path to the tech Priesthood, which allows to build the Oracle world wonder."
Aperture Science thinks we should build a Barracks
"A Barracks will give ground troops built there +3XP, which is added to the bonus +2XP we already get from being an Aristocracy, meaning that all our troops built in Panopticon gain 5XP upon being built, which is a significant advantage over our enemies, the Barbarians."
-------
You may now decide on what you think is best to research & build. If there is no clear winner (2 or more options with the same amount of votes), the People (Random.Org) will decide which of the leading options we will choose.
Pano-Militarist Wing was preferring Bronze Working for the research as it could discover mining, the creation of bronze military units, has an option for slavery, enable to chop down trees and reveals copper ore early on, making it a viable economy & military boost. Leading down this tech will grant access to better military units.
Pano-Militarist Wing was also preferring to build a Warrior instead of the Barracks at the beginning for two things. One, explores quicker and may have a bigger chance to find some runes (villages) early before anyone does as runes (villages) contains either a technology, a unit, or even a sum of money. Two, has an ample attack power which's enough to defend themselves against another unit of a same power.
Crimson Coalition says that we should do Sailing for research.
"Sailing gives us access to sea, which can allow us to discover more land, and more land means more power and resources, and the potential to meet City-States for secure alliances and trades."
Crimson Coalition says that we must train a Settler instead of a Warrior or Barracks.
"This gives us more cities, and the more cities we have the more people we can have, as well as multiple productions going on at the same time, giving us an opportunity to multi-task and create multiple units at the same time"

Also, villages will have a small chance spawn a barbarian instead of other things, and thus the reason why we should start creating Warrior instead of Scout unless we're going for purely Science Victory. Also, if anytime that our nation are going under-tech, then we could opt for going Pottery which's leads to Writing, then Writing leads to Alphabet, so that we could create spies to steal their technologies if we're encounter any other Civs nearby. This type of research line was purely for science."

OOC: In my opinion, 4 is better than 5. No stupid 1-unit-per-tile rule that clogs up everything. Though I do like some civ5 things that civ4 doesn't have.
We're still waiting for BlueDevil to vote. They might not be able to change what we will build (unless they're really good at convincing people), but they can still influence what we will be researching.
We Atriedes are well versed in the art of discourse, but we second the motion on the research of Meditation. We do not agree with the act to build a warrior, rather we should build a scout, it would take less time, we'd more easily find runes, also it would allow us to find other civs to which we'll trade in the future.

Crimson Coalition: +25% Production Output, +5% Commerce Output, +5 Production

"A Barracks will give ground troops built there +3XP, which is added to the bonus +2XP we already get from being an Aristocracy, meaning that all our troops built in Panopticon gain 5XP upon being built, which is a significant advantage over our enemies, the Barbarians."

"This gives us more cities, and the more cities we have the more people we can have, as well as multiple productions going on at the same time, giving us an opportunity to multi-task and create multiple units at the same time"
i forgot my main account and i should probably contact support for it but i'm a lazy bum so i did nothing instead :\
OOC: Discussion is obviously allowed, since you might be able to convince others
IC:
"Whilst Bronze Working may give us better troops, it has the added risk of us losing out to some other nation when it comes to building the Oracle, which gives us a free tech upon completion. And the Warrior does not have a higher change to get something out of a Village, that's what Scouts are for."
OOC: City States are a Civ5 thing. But we can meet other nations if we go to sea.
IC:
"If we build more cities too early, we will be in trouble, as our Economy cannot handle it yet."
"I didn't meant "higher" chance to find something in a village, I meant exploring and finding villages much more frequent than goes around with only one scout.
"Alright. We'll vote for a Warrior instead of a Barracks, but we won't go back on wanting to research Meditation, because the religion can spread to our Neighbours, and if they convert to our religion, the relations between our Nations will be better."
Aperture Science says that we should train a Warrior
OOC: Never played Civ4 before, and i stopped playing Civ5 beacuse it rotted away my life, so i'm a bit rusty.
IC: Crimson Coalition seconds that motion, but keeps their stance on Sailing.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king
