Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce; We will send unto them... only you."
Colored text indicates in-character statements/actions. Because Forum Games has basically just been a big open RP for a long time now and it's the only place I ever post anymore, when I post at all.
((Sorry for the double post, but I think I should provide some more detail about this valley))
((This post will be edited in the future, but I'll make a post to tell you when I do))
Technology:
The valley is not as advanced as the box. Current tech is medieval-esque, but the richest citizens have some steampunk machinery. Gasoline is available in large quantities in this land, as it has already been discovered and used commonly as a source of lighting.
Government:
Each town is ruled by a Mage. If citizens do not like the current mage, he can be voted off, and the Magocracy shall supply a new mage to fill the role.
Outsiders have no chance of joining the Magocracy, and thus have no chance of ruling a town.
Mythical Creatures:
There are a lot of magical/mythical creatures around. The most common creatures are Faeries (Fae, for short), and Fairies. Both species like to play pranks on mortals, but there are some differences:
Faeries are small. Very Small. About the size of your index finger. Their pranks are mostly harmless, unless you anger them (by intruding their land, or being mean to them), in which case their pranks can be fatal. Faeries can make themselves invisible to certain individuals if they wish to do so.
Fairies, on the other hand, are bigger. About the size of a Human Child. Fairies are Spirits of Nature, and cannot be killed permanently. Fairies' pranks are always harmless, though they tend to be more annoying than the harmless pranks Fae tend to play.
Fairies and Fae are on good terms with each other. They often work together when pranking people, and they appreciate each other's presence.
Faeries come in a large amount of subtypes. Some examples are Mountain Faeries, who tend to have industrialized Faerie civilizations in mountains, unreachable for any creature that is not a Fae or a Fairy (Fairies can shrink themselves if they wish, but they tend not to do so). Water Faeries live in lakes and rivers, and female Water Faeries occasionally abduct good-looking mortal men near the water to turn them into their husbands (after shrinking them and giving them the ability to breath underwater, that is). If the mortal turns out to be mean, they drown them. There are also Fae Vampires. These act similar to normal Vampires, but are immune to the things that Vampires are weak to, don't kill their victim, and leave a gift in return for the blood they drained.
Natives' opinions on outsiders:
Carthropods:
Since the Natives of this land are not too advanced with technology, Carthropods are an oddity to them. But instead of treating them as evil creatures, they view them as beings that bring good luck, and Carthropods visiting towns will have no trouble obtaining enough gasoline to have a nice meal, nor will they have trouble finding a place to stay (Most villages have some empty warehouses, and the villagers are happy enough to clean it up for the Carthropod to stay in). As for the good luck that Carthropods apparently bring? It is true, somehow, as villages visited by Carthropods are blessed with good harvest.
Magic Users:
Mages are common in this world, so magic users are nothing special. Mages that use their spells to help villagers are treated well, but Mages that hurt people will soon find themselves hunted by the Magocracy's Mages...
Update: Religion & Gods
Religion:
In the valley, Religion plays a huge part in the daily lives of people. Not just because the lack of advanced technology, but because Divine Intervention is actually a thing here. There are many gods, and they all provide something to their followers. Zieliah, Goddess of the Harvest, for example is popular among farmers, as her worshipers/followers always have a good harvest (unless another god intervenes, that is.). Satisfying a God/Goddess and becoming one of his/her followers is easy. In the towns and villages in the Valley you can find a lot of shrines in all kinds of sizes. Just leave an offering of food or money there. If the food is fresh or the money is real, it will vanish, and the God will give you their blessing for a week at most. If you wish to gain their blessing again, just leave another offering. If you decide to build a small shrine in your house, you can also leave your offerings there.
If you, however, attack or even destroy a shrine, that God will get angry! The God will no longer bless you, but will instead curse you!
Update: List of Gods!
You can also ignore gods, they won't do you any harm unless you harm their shrines. And just because a god is popular with a type of people, doesn't mean all followers are that kind of people!
Update: Calendar, Day & Night!
There are 45 Days per Month, 6 Months per Year. One per god. On a God's day, their Blessings and Curses are more potent.
There are 3 Moons which currently serve no purpose. They might get a purpose when I introduce weather (If I do)
Day and Night is now also a thing, Days last 48 IRL Hours, Nights 24. The First night will begin on Wednesday, 12:00 UTC, which is 14:00 for me.
I will attempt to make a post that changes Day to Night and Night to Day between 12:00 and 13:00 UTC when the cycle changes again.
To view the Calendar, go HERE, then go to Save/Restore, and fill the code in the spoiler into that field to load the Calendar. Today is the day of Eaninyen (4-7-2016 (4th of July))
Indeed I am, my friends and I need a place to stay, I may make a little boat so I can get onto the mainland and just see what's around. The house is fully completed and I will go out for some gas for lighting purposes. Can't always be in the dark.
(( I think you should somehow make this into a flat earth sort of thing, like have there be an edge that you can fall off into space, and an invisible boundary 40km up, the sun would pass overhead to mimic a day cycle, and the valley would move upward so we have gravity, and the 2 small "moons" would show at night.))
((I might introduce a daylight cycle in the future, but I'm still thinking about it. The biggest annoyance with it is keeping track of when the day or night arrives))
Best be careful when going out, and bring something to repair your boat just in case. I've seen people drown because a Fae made a hole in the boat...
Also, if you do happen to come across some Faeries doing something, just turn around and walk away like nothing happened, and hope they didn't see you. They don't like it when their privacy is broken...
My boat will bring some supplies and set up a small shack on the shore, I will bring a few things to repair, Sydney is coming with me, the rest stay and hold down the fort at the house. For faeries I will try my best to leave them alone and hopefully they will leave me alone.
((That wouldn't be the best system. What time zone would we follow? And if we did choose a time zone, some people would only be active at night. A better system would be the one I had in the Box, but I kept forgetting to post to change the day/time, and it was bothersome to do so. I am still thinking of another way)
Don't expect the Fae and Fairies to pass up on an opportunity to prank you. Don't be surprised if you wake up one day and find out that the Sugar pot contains salt and vice-versa...
There's really nothing you can do about them except learning to live with it. If you're lucky enough, a 'Domestic' Faerie might move in, those tend to help out in the house, as long as you treat it well and don't offend it. Though it will still play harmless but sometimes embarrassing tricks on you from time to time. If you do offend a 'domestic' Faerie, those tricks will turn destructive, and sometimes even deadly... Also, don't ever call a Faerie a Faerie in front of a Faerie, only Faeries and Fairies are allowed to do that without offending them... They prefer euphemisms, like the Quiet Folk, for example.
What's the difference between a Faerie and a Fairie?
I got across the water just fine, I brought some supplies to make a small camp on the shore, the boat will be turned over and stowed under a tree. A tent will be a nice place to sleep, when its time to go back I will leave the tent and stuff there for other visitors if they are in need of a place to stay.
Well, both species like to play pranks on mortals, but there are some differences:
Faeries are small. Very Small. About the size of your index finger. Their pranks are mostly harmless, unless you anger them (by intruding their land, or being mean to them), in which case their pranks can be fatal. Faeries can make themselves invisible to certain individuals if they wish to do so.

*Meanwhile at the beach. The Commander's 413th infantry squad have washed ashore. Somehow they are the only survivors remains from an old box after an event that causes everyone to evacuated due to chaos created by an evil entity. The rest of Commander's troops from the old box are either killed, imprisoned, or joins the evil entity legions as their new leader.*
There're currently only 6 soldiers remains in the squad. Each soldier has their own specific duties that made up a whole team's strengths. In fantasy games, they're basically like Heroes.
There was a:
1. Sargent who is responsible of making decisions, planning, inspiring their buddies, and not letting any of his soldiers to do illogical things. His leadership & communication skills are the most brightest and therefore able him to hire/get additional adventurers to join his quests. Sargent is always the leader of 413th infantry squad and no-one will ever going to outrank him sooner or later (unless he dies of course).
2. Gunner who is the main powerhouse of his squad. He can carry heavier weapons, equipment and other things without a sweat. He's also can take a pain more than his buddies and thus his muscular appearance could shield his buddies from any enemies by going him up first.
3. Sniper who is the assassin part of his squad. He can use his high power scoped Anti Material rifle to create a dent onto his enemy, and his swift maneuvers could dodge incoming attacks. His fast movement and stealthy-graded equipment will make him a great detector (scout) as he can spot anyone at far distance by using his scope.
4. Medic who's responsible of keeping his squad alive. Medical equipment, deadly apparatus, and even he has a weapon solely only for his protection. He's also has an ability to cure diseases and eased any negative effects on his squad so that they can fight longer within a field.
5. Signaller, aka the radioman was a backup support of his squad. He's using an unreliable radio equipment as some sort of a tool that it could jam anyone's electronics and also enable everyone to use its walkie talkies (make it easier to communicate at long distances) thanks to his portable radio equipment. Signaller was also consider as the anti-tech infantry as he could jams high-tech weapons, nullify cloaks & shields within range and possibly be able to hack through electronic systems if he's manage to get in close range.
6. Private who's basically an all purpose-infantry with some weird effects. Considering as a Sargent's favorable hated soldier that he isn't good at being a soldier, but he's an oddball of whenever a plot needs something special that no other squadron can do. In other words, he's basically a filler for all other things if my troops doesn't have a thing necessary, but very important in order to make a story/plot more interesting.
*After their troops are being washed ashore, a Sargent has woke up from his consciousness*
Sargent: Ughh... What happen? I'm feeling like I'm in a terrible ride.
*A Sargent was looking over at the Signaller that he's trying to communicate to the old box by using his radio.*
Signaller: Captain?! Come in captain?! This is squadron 4.1.3! I'll repeat, this is squadron 4.1.3! Does anyone respond, over?! Hello?! HELLO?! Respond please! Damit!
Sargent: *Coughing sea water and dizzy a little bit* Signaller? Do you manage to get the signal back to an outpost Mountain 4?
Signaller: Sarge! You're awake! My goodness, I thought I was the only survivor remain in this uncharted land. However, we got a bad news for us. Either our radio gone all wet from all these sea drifting, or our signal can't reach through mainland or something else.
Sargent: But your radio equipment was waterproof. So, that means.... *insert dramatic moment here*
Signaller: W-we trapped.. on this dreadful land? Noooooooooooooooooooo! Wait, why am I worrying about?! There's no enemy on this land wasn't it?
Sargent: Let's just say, this land has yet to be known, for now.
*Then suddenly at the distance, Private was walking along at the beach and noticed by both Sargent and Signaller.*
Sargent: You got to be kidding me! He's alive?
Private: Sarge!! HIIII!! I'm somehow alive at this point!
Sargent: That Private was way too lucky! And I'm feeling that the god of death didn't want to let this annoying person in his/her afterlife.
*Private was then dashing towards to Sargent*
Private: What is my next mission sir?! Ehmm I mean Sargent!
*Flies around the valley in search for people that are new here (aka people that don't live in the villages)*

Hello, and welcome!
Some/Most of you might know me from 'The Box', where I was quite active.
I liked the Box, but I've started to dislike it since it became a nation-building game, so I decided to cease my activity there.
So instead, I introduce the Valley!
Unlike the box, this WON'T be a nation-building game, it'll just be a fun RP where you can interact with people and have fights and such.
Information can be found HERE!
RULES:
1. No Nationbuilding (That's what the Box is for...)
2. No adding lore of your own to the valley. (That's my job :D)*
3. In the case of a fight, don't be the person that has Super-OP people that can dodge/are immune to every attack ever.
* Lore also includes what kind of things are in the villages, and what professions villagers have, and the abilities of NPCs
Also take a look here, since quite a lot of people post info on their characters here, so it's a quick & easy way to know things about the characters you're dealing with (So you don't accidentally mistake a male person for a female, for example)
So, if you decide to post here, your character(s) appears somewhere in this valley.
Have fun!
:appears in the valley, on a deck chair on the shore of the lake directly below the central island:
Now this is a calm place.
:summons a bottle and drinks from it:
*Appears on the roof of the house next to the rivers in the south*
Finally, a place where I can have fun without having to deal with all kinds of Empires and such.
*Thinks for a bit*
I should call Clownpiece and her friends over, since there is a lot of ambient magic here. They'd like it here.
*Thinks for a bit again*
Later.
*Enters the house and gets a drink and a chair, then sits on the front porch and relaxes*
*Flies around the valley in search for people that are new here (aka people that don't live in the villages)*
*Spots Lance*
*Lands*
