Anyone watched Mirai Nikki? And, is it blood-thirsy and got fanservice, Please tell me, as I want to watch it, but I hate gore and fanservice,
I watched the first few episodes of Mirai Nikki, and they were pretty good. My only complaints were the tone changes and the pacing. For example: The protagonist might get killed any moment now. He's in a survival game. Then the next episode he's like "Oh! I'm going to go on a date with a cute pink-haired girl and act as if the battle royale isn't a big deal at all!". Which is a pity, since I really enjoy the dark segments of the show. As for the pacing, I think it introduces characters too fast and that there are too many of them to give all of them the development they need. Regardless of my complaints, it's still pretty good.
jealous that you have cons in your country :c i would have to travel to france or england to visit a con.
did they have those booths for people to sell stuff and sorts? where amateurs could sell their doujinshis or manga's?
i'd love to know.
Yep! Pretty much this con has everything. Its all in the showroom where they have stuff to sell. Vendors as well. There's plenty of booths that sell all kinds of stuff. Its pretty cool. Can't buy anything from there since I'm poor.

Whenever I hear complaints about the show, it's usually just for these two reasons:
The main character, yukki, is annoying.
The show doesn't take itself seriously.
The anime seemed to appeal more to those who expected a wide range of things when starting the show. At times it was an extremely gruesome and dark anime, and other times it was like a comedy, like you said, which wasn't what people were expecting. For an extreme example, it was almost as if the show was given the K-On treatment. You thought the show would be about music, but when it was actually about a bunch of girls drinking tea.
I loved the show, aside from the ending which I'm used to horrid endings in depressing anime so I kind of expected it. The things like the wide variety of tones used in the anime, from depressing to light hearted, and yukki's character development were things I actually enjoyed about the show, but that might be because I wasn't expecting much to begin with aside from a pink-haired yandere loving on her boyfriend and slaughtering everything.
I do agree with you on characters needing more development though. The show did a good job of making some really interesting characters, and people like Marco Ikusaba should have gotten way more screen time than he did.
It's an ecchi anime involved around showing off little girls in sexual ways. It's called loli.
So unless you want to see a bunch of little girls that way with a bunch of revealing outfits, panty shots, and general fan-servicey things, I suggest you don't watch it.
It has military stuff on it,sci fi,and i dont care for fan service anyway(eg.I have seen KxS)
And these "little" girls are the same age as i am lol
Suit yourself then. Just be warned that the fan service really does get in the way of the action like it did in HOTD, aka 10 million panty shots but with loli added on to it, as shown in the first scene of the anime.
To answer your original question, I'd say dub instead of sub. It's a lot easier to get your hands on because it's available in Netflix, and the voices aren't bad from what I remember of the first episode, which is all I bothered watching.
Hhm,ecchi getting in the way of action; could be a problem but i am more than sure i can put up with it.
I cant watch it from netflix cause i dont live in 'Murica.
Thanks for answering anyways, but i would also like a second opinion on the dub/sub selection.
Anyone else that would like to suggest strike witches dub or sub?
Again I'd say dub simply because from what I remember the voices seemed appropriate, and that's usually all I need to know when choosing between dub or sub.
Just watch the first episode and see if you like it.
Weird to say that a series shouldnt be watched, what's wrong with giving it a chance and watching the first episode?
I said unless he's actually into that kind of stuff.
Strike Witches is one of the few anime I dropped after the first episode.
Oh, isn't Strike Witches an anime with lots of fanservice? What is so wrong with it? (never seen it),
It's not just a lot of fanservice, but it's a lot of loli fanservice. Even after the first scene you could see that was the case.
"Let's zoom up as closely as we can to a little girl's private area as often as we can, and at the same time we are going to make it to where they never wear pants either, because why not."
That's basically the show in a nutshell, or at least the impression I got of it after the first episode.
So my (possible perverted) curious self from reading a few of the post about Strike Witches got the best of me. Aside from the first episode it's actually really good. Sure a lot of it was unnecessary panty shots, but after the 4th episode, after meeting each other, it became a really good action show and stopped doing those kinds of shots. Not the best plot, not even close, but it was decent and the soundtrack kept with the action really well. The final few episodes was actually good, and the ending didn't actually suck for once.
It's actually not as perverted as Corvo made it out to be. The anime deceives their ages, they are about the age of that of Lucy in Elfen Lied, so if you didn't have a problem with nudity there, you should be fine here.
Be cautioned.
The plot definitely relies on coincidental sequences. For example the most powerful of the antagonist was able to wipe out everything, while the main characters could struggle with one, yet, they were able to beat an even stronger force of that stronger force.
Basically it just relies on a bunch of plot conveniences to work out, but it works out fine and I enjoyed myself. I'll watch Season 2 when I can. One thing that does annoy me is what Corvo's complaint was though. In this anime universe, the women never wear pants, ever. In fact, the anime itself covered this in an episode, the panties themselves are the pants they wear. Only one women out of the entire series actually wore pants, but she was the most formal of them all, so it seems just odd and creepy at the same time.
For cod4noobs, watch it subbed, I tried the dubbed and it sucked. Just stick to the subbed versions.
Watching Angel Beats, Zetsuen no Tempest, Shin Sekai Yori, and Psycho-Pass. Also recently finished the first Kara no Kyoukai movie. Here are my thoughts:
Angel Beats: A few episodes in, very entertaining with interesting characters. The comedy is great.
Zetsuen no Tempest: I don't know what I think about this one because my brain automatically turns off every time I watch an episode. I remember all the episodes, but my brain never gave them a rating.
Shin Sekai Yori: Great story, immersive world, interesting characters, amazing art. And then episode 8 happened and everyone who loved the show dropped it. I'm continuing, since the plot is still epic, even with homosexuality.
Psycho-Pass: So thought-provoking my brain hurts. Characters are good, but one-dimensional for the most part. I like it a lot, but I don't think it's on the same level as the author's previous works.
Kara no Kyoukai Movie 1: Overlooking View: It looked good, had a really interesting story, but I didn't know anything about the characters, and it was never explained to me. Guess I've got to watch the rest of the movies first...
1. I came here mainly to say that I saw some clips from the English Dub of Hetalia and I must say that the voice actors (especially in the bloopers) are rather ... inappropriate and say things that should not be repeated in "family friendly" places. I found those clips on YouTube after watching O Vreneli in Japanese then in Hetalia then in the dub (engrish), then clicking other Hetalia links in YouTube.
2. I recently watched some Blue Exorcist in Anime club (a couple weeks ago). It is rather interesting.
3. I also have some bad news, I cannot figure out how to make a Minecraft cosplay outfit (and I did not preregister) so I most likely will NOT go to Sakura-con this year.

Its in Orlando Florida
I only wish I wasn't a bum and had the money to go.
It's literally a two hour drive for me.
Unless you are into little girls that way.

Totally going for Sub! well... I just like the original voice, but I don't usually watch anime with sub so....

Finished Hen Semi last week, borderline hentai with nudity here and there. Very interesting and a very good artstyle.
