But in all fairness, this makes total sense, creating a bon with your starter that's so strong that your souls become one and creates power that transcends mega evolution is the exact concept Pokèmon was built upon,catching and befriending tons of creatures, and considering ash-Greninja is a thing, and you get you gem extreamly early, it seems almost confirmed at this point.

Does anyone here know anything about Digimon? I watched that a long time ago, and recently Pokemon seems to have taken a couple ideas from them, such as Mega Evolutions, and now this. Not that I think its a BAD thing, Its just kinda... weird. Digimon certainly had the idea first, and I kinda like that anime better than this one. But I haven't finished the pokemon version of the anime yet. I just wish it was a bit more... serious, in places. I like the Manga version of pokemon just as much as the digimon anime though I wish the anime was just like the manga, in terms of creative battling and special abilities and serious, cool stuff.

Ash greninja was first shown in the episode a festival of decisions, and the way it works is that Greninja and ash have developed such a close bond that there hearts can become one, transforming Greninja into a form that has some of ash's signature features, giving him a power that transcends mega evolution, however, because there hearts are one Ash feels what greninja feels, sees, and hears, visa-versa, so take Diantha as an example, she and Gardevoir have developed such a close bond that she can direct Gardevoir with a glance, but if a foe used smoke screen or such and blocked view of the arena, Diantha is largely unable to direct Gardevoir with such persision that they have lost arguably there greatest strength, Ash-greninja on the other hand, because he can see through greninja's eyes, giving him a huge advantage, unfortunately using this form takes so much energy that anytime Ash has tried using this form for an extended period of time he has fainted of exhaustion as of yet.

No, Mega Hydregon isn't until the Gen 5 remakes. If you thought Ghestis was bad the first time, hoo boy...
But he's 4# gen and got a mega strait off the bat.
So? Not the same thing. Gen 5 got one mega, so when somebody said "Mega Hydreigon can't happen yet", I noted that's not quite the case. There's a bunch of Gen 4 megas already.
