In that case, why does it matter in the slightest where they're sent? They're assigned a mirror universe at random, or there's a mirror world with twelve to twenty-four Pinkies running amok and that's where the spell sent them all. Why should they care? They didn't have any life before.
But now you have no substantial evidence to say that there ARE mirror worlds. And that isn't where they came from if they WERE sent. This is now a toaster (the spell) making cheese out of bread.
SO if you take the words of the spell literally, then the Pinkies vanish. If not, well then you are still right. I'm taking them literally.

What if they actually were split versions of Pinkie? What if when ever one was sent back it merge metaphorical holes that had been made in Pinkie?
View 2
By the way that the sequence occurs, it seems that Pinkie did go in at least once at the beginning, which would explain how the spell would work on her.
It's either a base negation spell or a negation banishment spell. probably the later, as base negation could probably have been targeted at the real Pinkie to undo all the reflections.
Also, it could be argued that the clones aren't even clones at all. They are refectory illusions coexisting on the physical plane. Thus they would not be scientifically classified as legitimate entities, rather a physical, interactive replication. [Also, based on philosophical/religious views, even true clones wouldn't be considered sapient as they have no unique soul]
There is a lot of logic used in stories/games that can help to look at this whole thing through.
They came from the pond. They're going back through the pond.
Besides, Twilight's words are far from holy scripture--her brief, paraphrased description of the spell could be inaccurate or downright wrong. The book probably didn't head that entry with "A Spell one can use to Send Duplicates Back Where They Came From."
My point here is, however ridiculous or otherworldly my arguments are--they're no more nonsensical than talking ponies, or magic, or a bear made of stars. Or the mirror itself in the first place. But we accept those as truth and not tricks of the light, why? Because the writers say that's how that world works. I doubt the writers considered this the same as giving Twilight a glock and having her pick them off one by one. Excluding the remote possibility of Dave Polsky having one hell of a sick mind, the Pinkies were supposed to be returned to a mirror world safe and sound. If you want to say anything else, that's a headcanon and I don't have to accept it.
I'm a but surprised right now. I read 'Bittersweet' by RagingSemi, and it was, quite surprisingly, good. I thought it was just another clopfic, but it was really much more of a slice-of-life and mild romance one-shot. In many ways it was actually really sweet, seeing the young love blossom like it did.
I'm not advocating anyone to read it, because it does contain mature content. I'm just vocalizing that it was an enjoyable turn of my expectations. It did better than 'legitimate' stories that try to detail a relationship.
I mostly meant in general. There will be scenes that I know could benefit if they were humanized. I read humanized fics here and there, and the interactions are, well, more human. Rainbow Dash can playfully reach across the table and punch Applejack on arm, or it can go into detail how Twilight may be moving books with her hands and them instead not just floating around by magic. It's little details, and I'm not saying it's necessary, but I tend to appreciate it more.
On a random note, I was scouring the comments for a fanfic and crossed this amusing comment. Those who have played Dark Souls will probably giggle at it.

Well... It looks like a non-canon storybook. That sort of thing is pretty common with a well-known franchise like MLP. My sister had a few for G3 at one point.
Not sure if legit, though. I can't see any sort of publisher's logos or anything.
Anyway, the art isn't bad, aside from RD kinda looking in the wrong direction, I would think she would be looking at her friends or the sea creature, or maybe the viewer, but she's not. The Spike is cute, the Twilight looks kinda weird to me (might just be that really odd pose) but Pinkie and Dash look alright, that sea creature actually looks pretty good. I can't really tell what is going on though.
Looks awesome, my computer is full though, so I can'y download yet...
Is anyone here also a furry?
In all technicality, all bronies are furries because a furry is defined as an animal possessing human characteristics. Ponies are animals that have been given human characteristics and therefore can be considered furries.
However, separating bronies from furries, I'm not a furry. The art style just isn't appealing to me, just the opposite. Since I'm thinking of this, I might as well go on to define my opinion of a hater. I would considder myself a hater of furries, for lack of a better term. However, I would not define a hater as someone who harrasses people because of their opinions and interests, but rather as someone who strongly does not like the style of art, concept, or anything else about it. Now I'm not putting "hater" on par with indifference. Indifference would be the lack of opinion on the subject present, that is very different from what I'm describing. When most people think of the term hater, most likely you think of someone who constantly harrasses people about their likes and dislikes. That is not the definition of hater. A good way to define hater would be "Hate the game not the player" meaning, that I might be a hater of furries, but I do not hate people who like furries.
In a short one word summation to you answer: No. However, I do like kemonomimi and, obviously, ponies.
So I was listening to a cover of Art of the Dress, and I heard a line I'd never paid much thought to before.
"Don't forget some magic in the dress."
This got me overanalyzing and thinking, since that line's probably just in there for a rhyme. Anyways, what if Rarity does imbue her clothes with magical properties? It always seems to me that her ugliest creations, as in the ones she just slathers gems on, are the ones that are the most popular. And, it would appear that as in many fantasy universes, crystals and gems are good for holding magical energy, such as the Element necklaces, the Crystal Heart, and even the entire Crystal Empire.
So, fan theory. When Rarity gets stressed about a project, instead of actually designing a good outfit, she covers the outfit in gems imbued with a mild version of a "Want-it Need-it" spell. Thus in reality, Rarity's special talent is mind control, and fashion is a hobby. Remember, she had already sewn several "okay" costumes, when she was in what can be presumed to be early grade school (At the same time, Twi was just starting school, though she may have already gone through Magic Kindergarten)
For a grade schooler to sew several full bodied costumes like that is a huge accomplishment, but it wasn't until after she ruined them by plastering them in gems that she got her cutie mark.
Thus, Rarity's real talent is making mind control gems, and either she never told anyone, or she does it unconsciously and simply believes her talent is fashion.
EDIT: I also figured I'd post the cover, since it's really good.
Because I am too lazy to make large quote posts, I will just make a general post on my views of the new episode and how things went down, ya with me dawg?! Let's get widget!
So, we can see something of a pattern with all the Pinkie Pies, they all want to have the most amount of fun possible in the shortest amount of time. amirite? So when Pinkie Pie went to the Mirror Pond, she had the intention of having the most amount of fun in the least amount of time, so the mirror pool reflected that when the new Pinkie was made, which would be the same cause for the next duplications that would have occurred. Therefore, the new duplicates of Pinkie Pies are reflections of that one desire to have the most amount of fun in the least amount of time. This explains why X. they all have the same qualities personality-wise Y. they failed the paint drying test and Z. why the real Pinkie Pie didn't fail, because she had lost the mentality of having the most amount of fun in the least amount of time and was focused rather on passing the test to spend time with her friends again.
As for the spell, Twilight was, read it with me now! Summarizing, the spell with what it did. When she said that it would send them back from where they came from, she was meaning send them back to the pond. It would be safe to assume that they all live in the pond as blank canvases ready to be painted to what pony comes there and what their desire is. Can someone say Slender Pony? And they all would still live, technically, just not as hyperactive copies of Pinkie Pie. This is kind of like when you make copies of pictures on a computer and print them out. The paper is in there until an outside force comes and uses it.
Just an unrelated little rant about alternate universes:
I find that all to be a bunch of crap honestly, you can't have all the same events lead up to something, and then have a single change of some electrons in another part of the universe be the only difference, our universe is shaped by past events, and you can't just go in and insert on difference willy-nilly, something had to have happened in the past to make it so that those electrons ended up there. It would be like playing two movies at the same time, pausing them, and then playing them again, expecting them to be different, it won't be any different because all the past actions (in that movie) led up to those events.
Edit: Nittles, you are BLOWING MY MIND RIGHT NOW!

What? No, furries are people who like anthropomorphic animals which are animals with human characteristics which does include the whole MLP:FiM cast. And there actually are bronies who aren't furries. (I'm both, though.)

I'm pretty certain such magic would be detected by another unicorn. Realistically the markets in Equestria would be regulated to detect and forbid using magic to increase the want value of an object, or to make it more pleasing economically unfair way akin to that. Even if what you said was the case it wouldn't really be mind control, but instead specific persuasive agendas in place. You claim a filly would be hard-pressed to make such dresses, yet she could imbue crystals with that kind of magic?

Sorry to interrupt. Just here to say Tosh.0 put pony r34 on its new episode today. Apparently EQD posted it, but deleted it after a while. If you want to see it, search for yourself. Bronies Tosh.0 on Youtube should do it. I'm not in a mood to get banned today. Yes, the video is really nsfw and I don't reccomend watching it with anyone around. The uploader also decided to make the thumbnail the bad part, just warning ya. I'd bet its gonna get deleted, so if you do wanna see it, hurry. Please don't freak out. I've had enough for a few days. The best part is, they blamed it on Reddit and not /mlp/.
