I think any music made without instruments is overrated.
I second this.

Computers and synthesizers (the tools used to create dubstep) are instruments, whether you like it or not.
I'm not talking about synthesizers. I'm talking about people using FL Studios and similar programs. Sure, it takes mental talent, but to me, an instrument requires mental as well as physical talent to play, like a guitar, piano, violin, harmonica, whatever. Just because you can write music doesn't mean you can play music. And you can't play music with a computer using a program to compose it, the computer is doing all of the playing.
Ever since dubstep became a mainstream genre, it's been overused to the point where I can't go anywhere without hearing it. I do enjoy some dubstep song, but yes, it is overrated.
Dubstep is the music of this/next generation. I can see how it can be overatted to people who grew up listening to a lot of rock or whatever. I grew up like that too but I love dubstep, tecno, ect.

So, that somehow makes electronic music less worthy of listening to?

To me, yes, but that's not what I was saying. The point of that post was that a computer isn't an instrument. Who knows, by definition it may be, though it wouldn't make much sense. To me, an instrument is something you play music with. If someone writes sheet music, the pencil and paper are not considered instruments. Writing instruments, yes, musical instruments, no.
It being overrated is entirely based on opinion. Not everyone likes the same things, there's nothing wrong with that and its not our place to condemn or judge those who like different things.

So, basically, electronic music is bad because no "real" instruments are used? That's pretty ridiculous.

My name is Ozymandias, king of kings. Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.
