It seems like almost everyone on the internet likes dubstep, and I can't see why. I think it's way overrated, and the music itself is obnoxious and gives me a headache.
Overrated? Riiight. If you like dubstep (like-a me) you'll notice literally everyone on the internet hates it and says it is a piece of crap. Which is so much fun, people insulting the music you like everywhere you go. But eh. You have your opinion, I have mine.

I don't hate or even dislike dubstep -- I simply don't care for it. I've heard a handful of dubstep tracks that I do enjoy, but overall I'm legitimately disinterested in the genre.

It's kind of like Justin Bieber. Everyone you have ever met in your life despises him, yet somewhere in the world his music is generating millions of dollars. It's a type of music that alot of people love, but is so easy for everyone else to hate. Similar to country, pop, or heavy metal. Whereas music like classic rock, not everybody likes it, but most people that don't can still listen to it without becoming irritated.
I still haven't figured out exactly what dubstep is. *uses magic of search engine*
Hmm.. have to say it's not my style. I've always thought "hate" was a rather strong word to use for pretty much anything. "Passionate dislike" is best reserved for your nemeses*.
*before somebody corrects me, that is supposed to be nemeses(plural) as opposed to nemesis(singular)

Is there anyone else?
There are plenty of people out there that dislike it.
Dubstep isnt one thing, its divided to many more sub-gernes.
Have you been living under a rock? Every genre is divided into a million sub-genres. To people that don't listen to a type of music, all those sub-genres sound the same.
I don't dislike dubstep. I just don't care for it. If you want a genre I LOATHE, well... Don't me started on death metal or rap... I detest both with a seething hatred.
(Unless, for the latter, it's ERBOH, in which case I love it)
Don't post that in any metal threads, you will end up with 5 pages of suggestions of decent DM bands and if you still decide to hate it will be flame warred out of the thread. Just saying. (This is coming from someone who spends a lot of time in the metal threads)
Yeah, I personally don't understand how someone can hate a genre where most of the music is on the same level as Beethoven structure-wise. And to put it all the way down there with rap... that's just wrong.
Time taken for someone with no experience to master any rap song - 2 days, if that.
To master the tabs of a Cryptopsy song (no experience) - ages (average guitarist) - Around a couple weeks, if they know all the techniques. <--- Note I said master.
^^^ And that's only 25% of one song! More so less for some bands.
Even compared against a genre that's not completely terrible, say your typical nu-metal or metalcore, it's going to take significantly longer to learn any death metal song. *sigh* Some people just can't keep up with complexity and disregard great music as random notes. I mean, come on, do you really think a band just gets on stage and plays a new, random song every time?

I'll stop now, starting to drift off course.
I completely agree.
I don't hate dubstep, but I don't listen to it regularly. I try to have respect for every genre of music, even if I don't listen to it, because music means something different to everyone.
