For example I don't understand why anyone needs mines when they have transporters.
They've referred to "pattern buffers" in many an episode, but for some reason they're too stupid to keep anything stored in it after finishing transport. As I understand it, someone could send a sample of some metal they need, then send some garbage/smashed up asteroid/something else easier to come by and have it materialize as the metal. Right?
Same goes for replicators. Why does the Federation feel a need to set up outposts on other planets that get ravaged by (insert your least favorite alien species here) to get some mineral that can much more easily and safely be made out of energy?
There's a Dilbert about holodecks you should read.
If teleporters existed I'd teleport all the food to my stomach when I was hungry and poo for my butt when I needed to go to the dunny, therefore I wouldn't have to leave the couch, therefore I wouldn't want to explore the galaxy, therefore star trek is stupid. Q.E.D

No, I will not subscribe to your channel because you asked... but I might if it's *good*.
