The good guys always win. It's incredibly cliche if you know that no matter what happens, good will always triumph. Granted I enjoy seeing the good guys win, but I'd love a movie that throws in a twist where the main character fails.
Well then you're gonna love The Dark Knight and Se7en.
the satisfaction of a story is not in seeing the good guys win, it's seeing how they win.
storymaking is a method that has been developed over millennia. there tends to be a specific structure a story has to follow, otherwise it will suck. people try to go against it now and again, but they usually fail. having the good guys lose isn't particularly satisfying. as cliché as happy endings may seem, they tend to be necessary. you CAN have the good guys lose, but it's hard to pull it off satisfyingly.
When people want to make a scene look more action-y than it really is so they spam the hell out of it with all these frantic camera cuts. It doesn't add anything to the scene, it's just annoying.

I hate it when the bad guy is about to kill the good guy, but then he decided to make some elaborate speech on his mighty plan. And then of course the good guy has just enough time to escape....

Not sure if I already posted this, but when a nerdy girl takes off her glasses (YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE GLASSES TO BE A NERD!!!) to reveal the most beautiful face.

But wouldn't you want to bask in the glory of destroying your arch-nemesis?

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king
Movies that use cliche music, for example, Rolling Stone's "Sympathy For The Devil", The Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive", Electric Light Orchestra's "Don't Bring Me Down", Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", etc.

Maybe, rather than cliche, those are iconic. If they play the song they know you're going to feel a certain way.

I hate it when someone is like "I'm not going to do anything to you" and then everyone else is like "Okay, you say you aren't bad so it must be true" with no questions asked, I mean, really, (I'm looking at you Pokémon! You pull that so much!) Pretty sure half the shows and movies I watch have that happen at least once, it really bugs me

Like when the hero has the villain hanging over the side of a building and reaches out his hand instead of stepping on the villain's fingers? They do that because it illustrates the compassion and modesty of the hero and how the hero is really good. Like Jean Valjean and Javier, it's a classic, but modern movies like to be anti-establishment and the hero who saves the day, but not always in the most moral way is a much more compelling theme to today's audiences compared to the idealistic themes of yore.

I immensely dislike the occurrence in which individuals possessing intellects higher than would normally be found amongst the lay folk speak in a manner which is overly verbose and riddled with vocabulary that is woefully archaic or pretentiously uncommon; for any self-respecting genius must invariably prattle on as if he were delivering a Shakespearean soliloquy.

Cerroz, I demand a "Things you love in Movies". There is just too much pessimism in this thread.
But, on an unrelated, contradictory note:
Businesses that make movies based on pop culture in order to draw in a few bucks. A few, prime examples: The Angry Birds Movie, the Emoji Movie, a 3rd Despicable Me movie, must I go on?

In popular Block Busters movies I guess. But in critically acclaimed movies like No Country for Old Men, or Dead Poets Society, this is not the case.
Well then you're gonna love The Dark Knight and Se7en.

True, but I do still feel as though they are kinda overused.

Actually the time that they fired horribly was so they could track down the rebel base I think and they were pretending
And the Ewoks are actually pretty strong so a rock thrown by them would knock you out plus they outnumbered the stormtroopers

bump.
When insecure writers put themselves in a movie and make themselves a Mary Sue protagonist. That just comes off as discomforting.

At least Despicable Me was already a movie.
