Hello, I'm a soon to be youtuber who is planning on playing games such as FarCry and BF4. I was planning on purchasing the Alienware Area51 R4 but was talking into building my own so here I am. I know some of the parts ive chosen arent necessary but I have a large budget and dont want to worry about it for a while haha. So, as a first time builder Id love a list of parts ill need. Im doing a watercooled build and Ive chosen a few key parts already so I was hoping you all could recommend a case and other parts I may need and give me a overview on my upcoming build. Again I know all these parts may not be necessary but i wanted to go "Balls To The Wall". Thanks guys!
Don't buy anything like this, it is a waste of money and you would regret it. Get a 4790K and 1/2x GTX 980s (or a Titan X) and be done with it.
I have serious doubts you could afford this.
You likely won't succeed at YouTube. Not being pessimistic, just stating the (very) likely.
You can't futureproof, so don't try to do so. PCs will always become outdated within 3-4 years, it's inevitable.
Other than that...
No H100i. If you're spending a considerable amount already, might as well get an actual proper loop.
Don't need that many Titan X cards. 2 is plenty.
Phanteks Enthoo Primo, hard to beat for a watercooled build without getting Caselabs or similar.
I doubt you even need 16GB of RAM, let alone 64.
Get a NAS, use the 500GB SSD for programs/games & use the NAS for storage. More space for rads.
You'll need to get at least 3x 1440p monitors for this to be worth it, or 4K. Buying something like this and playing at just 1080p or 1440p would be idiotic.

*claps* bravo, you just made me laugh. How about you go build this and post some pics of your imaginary PC? Then we can all laugh about how someone just wasted their money.

Its gonna be another month before I get this started. But wow, Minecraftforum is officially the ghetto of the internet. 0 helpful advice, and everyone is either in disbelief or saying I cant afford this. The real question is, why do you care....... its my build anyway and doesn't effect you. Go take your useless opinion elsewhere

You're right, we shouldn't care. Why should we waste our times trying to help people no waste their money on ridiculous things anyways. You're the one asking for help. And you got help, but you're too ignorant to take advice it seems.

Well, if you didn't care about other peoples opinions, then why did you post this on minecraftforums? Second, _Xiae gave you incredibly advice, so don't even start. Nobody on earth needs 64 GB of RAM. Not even the major movie producers need that (might be wrong). The point is, even if you are video editing constantly, you don't need that much. Hell, the youtube channel "Node" only have 32GB of RAM in their systems, and that seems to be plenty.
Lastly, I think you're missing the point here. If one GTX Titan can run games at 4k pretty easily, why would you need 3 of them? A second one adds a bit of performance, adding the third one is only going to add maybe 1 or 2 FPS; and again, nothing that's even relatively noticeable considering 2 of them can run ANY game at 4K with a playable 60+ FPS.
You say that you're going to be playing all of these games at 4k and uploading them to youtube. How do you expect to do that with a 500GB HDD? That's no where near enough. Hell, your games are going to take up nearly half of that, and then you need another 60+GB for windows, and way more for your recordings.
This will be the MOST you will need, you will not regret the raid 0 ssds,i own then and it's the speed of light, literaly

Also to the OP. Calling minecraftforums the ghetto of the Internet? i dare you to post that same build just about anywhere else and you will get the exact same response.

First of all, thanks edya for your build and will be considered for a different purpose. As for you Alex, you have not given me ANY useful advice, I guess your too ignorant to write a intelligent comment. And yes, you do care, if you didn't you wouldn't have posted on my thread twice. Oh yah, by the way I took my build to several pc specific forums such as pcgamer and jayz forum and got wonderful and friendly responses giving me quality advice. Now I see I should have never visited a forum full of jealous 12 year olds. If you really are mature and not a lonely person sitting behind a screen then I suggest you leave this thread and start contributing to your family as well as society. (Don't get me started on how I don't contribute.. You will look more immature than ever). Good bye.

I don't have time to do up a list etc for a loop and related parts right now, but I will give you some advice regarding that side of things when i'm not at work if you would still like help (even if it's for a variety of opinions/help). Apologies for my first response, have been a bit pessimistic and upfront lately for some reason and need to tone it down a bit. I also apologise for the YouTube comment, that was also uncalled for.
Regarding the other responses to my/his posts, no need to flame him and if he can afford the build and would like to go ahead with it, all the more power to him. No need to be harsh (contradicting myself a bit here, but eh). Regarding the 64GB of RAM comments, yes, there are actually uses for having that much with professional (and some personal/hobbyist) applications, and I also understand the "ballstothewall" concept, but I will still maintain that you won't need 64GB, and that any more than 16, maybe 32, is in excess. In relation to having more RAM than VRAM, technically 16GB RAM would still be more than total VRAM, as SLI VRAM usage will need to copy the same data to each card that shares the workload giving an effective total of 12GB available to applications/games, not 48GB (which is still plenty, mind you).
Oh, and also worth noting, some members here indeed might not have a lot of money (though I am not included in that demographic), however that's completely irrelevant to the issue in question anyway. Having a lot of money will not change the fact that spending 10k or more on a PC and peripherals with the expectation that they will not get outdated (or just in general) is somewhat silly.

Just going to say some things:
First off, you question my intelligence, yet you don't even use the correct form of "you're"?
Also I could offer some advice, but _Xiae already covered 98% of what needs to be said, and you basically threw out his advice.
Also Jayz has no idea what he's talking about 90% of the time. He's trashed people for not having aftermarket cooling on their locked i5s

When will you ever need 64 GB? I know that it will be necessary in the next 5 years or so, but the point is not to go Extreme Balls to the Wall, but to build a computer that can suit your needs, and you can then upgrade it in a few years.
Thanks for the huge amount of advice and will be considered. But from now on I really only want help on cooling and not how I should purchase certain items, anyways forgiven and thanks.
I have time to help put together a list of parts for a loop, however you're going to need to decide on a case and components before you do so as the blocks and rads used will change depending on what you are planning on getting. PC first, water cooling second.
For.. say, 3x Titan X, 5960X, Enthoo Primo, a good start would be the following:
Hello, I'm a soon to be youtuber who is planning on playing games such as FarCry and BF4. I was planning on purchasing the Alienware Area51 R4 but was talking into building my own so here I am. When will you ever need 64 GB? I know that it will be necessary in the next 5 years or so, but the point is not to go Extreme Balls to the Wall, but to build a computer that can suit your needs, and you can then upgrade it in a few years.
I'm back
I have time to help put together a list of parts for a loop, however you're going to need to decide on a case and components before you do so as the blocks and rads used will change depending on what you are planning on getting. PC first, water cooling second.
For.. say, 3x Titan X, 5960X, Enthoo Primo, a good start would be the following:
- 3x EF-FC Titan X Blocks
- Topblock
- 3x Backplates
- CPU Block
- 480mm Rad (top, or perhaps 2x to go in bottom instead of 280mm - might be needed for 3x Titan X)
- 280mm Rad (bottom)
- Relevant 120mm/140mm (Corsair SP?) fans
- Res/Pump (though might be a good idea to go dual D5 for better flow with this much gear) + kill coil
- Fair bit of tubing (doesn't have to be white)
- As many fittings as required with the relevant ID/OD
- Coolant/distilled water
