I need to install a 64-Bit Java version on my Winows 8 computer. In my control panel it says I have 32-Bit, so I went to uninstall a program and uninstalled Java. I then went to youtube video which explains how to install the 64-Bit java. I downloaded the latests 64-Bit offline Java Version. I go to install it and I get this error message
Anyone know a fix to this error?

after you restart like the message said, try again (RTFE moment (read the friggin error, because half the time it tells you what to do to get it resolved, unless it's a winderps 8 BSOD))

windoge 8 has the saddest excuse for a BSOD, it just tells you the type of error, no stop code, no nothing, just "something went wrong, all your unsaved work has now been lost to the void that is volatile memory"
Oracle's Java installer is a massive pile of garbage. I work on an updater program that updates a lot of software for client systems and Java is the one stick in the mud that refuses to work 90% of the time. The fact that our own installers for our software works better than something created by Oracle is just sad.
1. It's "Silent Install" feature is completely busted.
2. If an installer finds an old version of Java, it tries to uninstall it. If the uninstallation fails for any reason it gives up.
3. If certain registry keys are present from older versions, it fails outright (in my casue I was launching the installer from the update application and it was giving a 1602 Error code without actually doing anything).
The workaround was the manually uninstall Java within the code. Basically do what the uninstaller is supposed to do and delete all the files and registry keys so that the new version of Java doesn't find anything left over from the old version and exit.
Conclusion: The Java Installer is a pile of garbage. And they also keep changing it each update (I had to find another set of registry keys that Update 55 checks, for example).
Now that said, JavaRa pretty much duplicates the functionality that i had to create (deleting Java stuff so a new installer will actually work). So you could try that.
