Hi all! So, I got myself Logitech G230 gaming headset. Everythinfg seems fine, the microphone is good, but the noise on it is really annoyying. There's constant hissing sound on the audio recorded with this microphone, and Logitech website says it has an anti-noise system built in. So, now I'm confused. I tried updating my audio drivers, but it says the drivers don't need to be updated. Can anybody please help me?
I get that sometimes when using mics, the only way I've found to fix it is use one of those foam pieces that you can put on them, and if the problem still persists then try to filter it out in windows.
right click volume icon in the tray >recording devices
select your mic, then click properties.
flip through each tab and tweak the settings until you find something that fixes it.

Filtering in Windows didn't work, changins settings around had no effect. And I'll try to use these fam covers, but I have no idea where to get these.

I am sorry to tell you, should had just not got those. I did buy a pair because seemed nice. They were ok sound wise but not fit to say, but when I tested the mic, just static to be honest. I tried same on laptop, same results. I confirmed it was the headset and this seems to be a problem with these. The G430s are the same, only the G930 is different and works.
Try to get a refund on them and get something else, no joke intended.
My Newegg RMA on them. RMA number removed for obvious reasons.

Well, so far I am pretty statisfied with the G230. Myabe the mic on yours wasn't dead, you just had it muted and didn't notice the mute switch on volume slider?
I don't really want to swith from these headphones, because he sound is really good, and noise I can remove via deNoiser filter in Premiere Pro. Just wondering if it is possible to not have the noise at all.
Could you post a sample of what it sounds like? On YouTube, or a .wav, .mp3, whatever on some file hosting site just so we can see if it's a bad mic, background noise, or maybe some kind of electrical interference. It may be worth RMAing them for a replacement, and if the replacement still shows the same problem, you can decide where to go from there yourself.
I'd be tempted to side with SeaWry before hearing anything, though.

No, I tested it on different computers, the mic switch was working fine as the mic went silent when it was turned to "mute" position. But the mic was pretty much no audio but just static. Maybe could hear something if you yelled into it. The room was absolute silent as this is how I test them.

The funny thing is, most people give these good ratings for the sound they have. But if you look at the Cons; most of them are about the mic being very poor.
Yes, this is how I experienced it. And if you enable Mic Listen To (windows setting) (so you can hear yourself), you hear constant static and nothing of what you are saying. I have to be able to hear myself in order to know what I sound like in a 1:1 ratio somewhat.
The anti-noise canceling stuff this mic has is far far to powerful and kills even voice.
I have enabled mic listen to, and I hear myself pretty good, and some static in the background. So, I don't know, maybe your was just broken, things like that can happen.

I cannot say. If it was, that was quite something given majority of reviews on the headset complain about the mic. But perhaps YMMV.
I guess that's what you should expect from a $50 gaymin headset, they aren't meant for studio listening, or recording quality.
I haven't heard them for myself, so I can't speak for the listening quality but if you expected more from 50 moneys then you should have researched them more before buying and maybe found something better.
But for that price, I wouldn't complain about that quality, to me it just sounded like you had some bad bg noise
I've had some turtle beach PX21's for around $80, they are pretty good, slightly more then what you've got, but the mic definitely sounds better and it's a lot more tweak friendly.
Chilling right now with my ATH M50's and a modmic attached ($150 + $30 for modmic). The price is a lot more, but they really are worth the price in every way, I have yet to wear them long enough to become uncomfortable, build quality is immaculate, and the sub, low, and mid ranges are great, pretty stable sound stage though they aren't open cans.
I'd say, if you want good quality all around then you really have to go the extra mile with price.
Well, I wasn't really complaining. It's just really weird to me that a mic with an anti-noise system built-in have so much noise. No big deal for me though; I record mic audio separately from game audio, so I can apply a DeNoiser effect in Premiere Pro and just get rid of noise completely nad not have any impact on game audio. SO, there's no way of fixing it, right?

You may want to read my post while you still can, some of them have been randomly disappearing lately *cough*

The audio however on headset itself was fine.
