I like the G700 because of its display, but the y410p has nicer GPU, I like the network card in the G700 better than in the y410, but the y410 has a 4th Gen i7 core while the G700 is only 3rd Gen (don't know how much big of a difference it is), and the touch pad is better on the G700. Please help me decide!
I need a laptop, and I need your help to get me the best laptop I can get.

Why does it need a to be a laptop.
Desktops are better at everything you listed.
Well desktops cost more. And they're not portable.

Well, they'd be terrible for school work since you can't actually bring a tower PC to school. But I guess that's my fault since I didn't specify it had to be portable.
What games will you be playing besides Minecraft? What 3D Modeling/Animation/Rendering software will you be using?
Besides Minecraft I will be playing Need For Speed, Kerbal Space Program, and general flash games. I will be using Cinema 4D R14 for my 3D animation. It doesn't need to be top line processing to satisfy me, as long as it takes less than 5 minutes per frame, I'm fine.
Yeah, you aren't going to get even an i5 with a dedicated GPU in that price. If you raise it by $50 you can get this though: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16834216539
I'll keep this in mind when I'm buying. It could be worth the extra $50.

Actually, you can get the equivalent of a laptop from about 100 - 1000 dollars less out of a tower PC, and yeah, you nailed it, it has to be portable.

can i ask what you think you mean by this? I read it as you can get a laptop cheaper than a pc that is equivalent in performance.
If you meant that, well, you are insanely wrong.

Proud member of the MCF AWA war of '13! if someone suggests Alienware or Cyberpower, wait for a custom-built list from someone who knows their stuff. Meh Rig
Only problem with that is that it uses an A8 quad core processor which is especially good for gaming, but only gaming specifically. I would much rather prefer an i5 over an A8

Oh no, I meant that you can get a tower cheaper than a laptop, but still keep the same quality. I worded it a bit weird up above, but I meant than towers are cheaper than laptops
Let me ask you to specify "school work" and especially "animation".
Never mind, I see that you did that above this post.
You really don't want to be rendering on a laptop though, it's going to be terrible either way.
Besides, an A8-5550m really isn't that much worse than an i5.
Yeah, but still, I'd prefer the i5. Even though I prefer the i5, I might have to go to the A8 because the i5 is quite expensive in the laptops posted above. Anyways, I know that rendering on a laptop is bad. I'm planning to get this laptop and deal with it for a bit, and then eventually build my own pc when I have the time and money.

Desktops IN GENERAL cost less. A desktop costs anywhere from $200 to $3000 (If you go extreme high-end) less than a similarly-performing laptop.
Well when you buy a desktop, I assume you will buy a mouse, keyboard, and monitor too?

I was not referring to customs. I assume that he is going to buy one.

I would get that, but it's about $1000, plus duty fees would be crazy.
