I just wanted to know if the Apple Macbook is good for minecraft. If you know, please let me know a FPS range for it, and how good of a computer it is overall. MY NAME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! PLEASE NOT BE A AND COMMENT ABOUT IT. gawd.

If your wanting that for gaming, then no. Stay away from apple. According to my brother who owns a macbook pro. Mac's are notorious for handling java script horribly.

I have a 6 year old Macbook Pro that runs MC very well (I keep the FPS at 30, but I can get up to 300) I can even run low-level GLSL Shader packs, which surprised me quite a bit. They can work fine, it just depends on what Mac you get, although I'm no PC tech expert.
I'm gonna tell you this right off the bat. For however much that macbook costs (looking at the Apple site I would estimate around $1100), you can build a WAY better laptop. Going off that $1100 figure:
That is the same price, and every single one of the features are better.

if you already have it, great. i keep mine at about 30 fps, but i can get 250 if i set my settings to max. The thing is, macs were not meant for gaming. They were meant for other things. For the price of a macbook pro, you could a a lot better computer dedicated to gaming.
If you value graphic design/architecture/print design/art and use Minecraft as a side, then that should run it fine. Rather it will run it fine. If you like macs, like me, then yes. However, it's not going to be the cheapest spec-wise. They do generally get less viruses and are more user-friendly than PCs though, so if you don't want to mess around too much it's a good choice.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

The OP asked if the MacBook was good for Minecraft or not.
Instead of simply answering the damn question (it wasn't a difficult question either), you decided to go straight down Fanboy Boulevard, crashing and burning along with EvilCreeper10.
As to the OP, sure, it'll run Minecraft just fine.
However, I advise that if you're considering a MacBook purely to play Minecraft, you might want a Windows PC instead. Macs are good for work but doesn't carry quite the horsepower preferred by gamers.
It should run Minecraft fine, I have an older mac and it runs it with no problen. However if you are looking for someting that will get great fps the mac is not the computer to get. Also instaling mods and setting up a server on mac is more diffucult than on a PC. I like my mac for things like facebook, email and music but I am looking at getting a gaming PC for around the same price as a mac for playing minecraft and GTA.
That has 5 year old hardware in it, and you're asking if it will play Minecraft. In answer, no, not very well. Acutally my Mom has a very similarly specced Macbook Pro, it runs MC at about 30ish FPS at okay settings. No smooth lighting, no fancy, normal render distance.

But what if, i got that laptop, then i install windows 7 Home Premium on it and then it would run windows and not iOS or whatever ir runs. Wouldn't have a better performance?

if your ok with windows, just get a windows laptop.
Macs have bad performance because they take outdated, crappy hardware, and sell it at a high price.

You can boot-camp windows 7 on there. But you don't get a whole lot for the money you paid for an Apple Macbook though.
If you boot-camp and just always use the Windows side. Then buying a macbook was pointless and waste of money.

I'm pretty sure you're just a...wait, that's against the rules. Sorry.
I don't think you understand the point of this subforum. We don't just give everyone a gold star for doing a "great job" and OP probably just thought the MacBook was good and wanted to buy it. If he already has it it'll run Minecraft but if he's buying it there are far better options.
If someone comes here with an Alienware and we recommend a custom build are you going to cry foul because they didn't get exactly the kind of advice they wanted?
OP, if you have it it'll do fine, but if you don't have it DO NOT BUY IT.

Or he could be referring to the extremely obnoxious and annoying way you and quite a few other people on these forums go something to the effect of:
OP: "Hey guys, I have a banana and am wondering what your opinion is on the best way to peel it, I like.."
Annoying People: "Stop what you're doing, do not ever buy a banana. Now let me explain to you why you should go buy a pear instead."
If someone asks for a yes or no don't try and upsell them your favorite brand unless they ask for a brand. I've seen the same thing regarding people asking about buying a console vs a PC or anything that isn't your favorite brand of something.

OP asked for a mackbook for minecraft.
lets say someone walked up to you and asked if they should use a tablespoon, or a teaspoon to dig a grave, and you suggest a shovel that is a wee bit cheaper, but does the job they want done alot better (of course).
From what i can tell this forum is centered around price/performance.
i have a whole lot more that would explain actions in my point of view here, although at the end of the day, the advice is free, if you didn't get exactly what you wanted, well, go ask others.

I think Satharis is referring to the point that it's said over and over again on the same thread that gets really, really annoying. You say the information once in the whole thread and if the OP doesn't take the advice, you either jump ship or give them the best out of what they're asking for.
OP, the Macbook uses some rather weak hardware. The price on them isn't ridiculously high because they are powerful or fast; it's high because Apple says it's high. Macbooks generally have the hardware of Windows laptops that cost about 1/3rd of the price.
1. Unibody aluminum chassis are expensive.
2. Thinness is expensive.
3. American technical support and manufacturing are expensive.
Apple has the highest margins in the industry. Sure. That is not a reason to join the "X is overpriced because you can get Y for cheaper" conga. That attitude is one of the reasons why most laptops are cheaply-built, generic Compal-Foxconn-and-Quanta junk.
