I just figured out today that Surewest apparently believes everyone is an idiot, because they don't give out the information needed to access my router to portfoward it so my server isn't completely useless. When I talked to their tech support, they essentially said "sorry, too bad, sucks for you" and that "they aren't normally called about this kind of issue." I wonder why, but that's probably because they think something similar to me, which is, "I am not going to deal with this crap on a daily basis," and either get a new router or drop Surewest as an internet provider altogether.
So, what would be a better router than what I currently have that I won't have to waste hours on trying to squeeze the username and password out of surewest. Also preferably not really expensive.
uh.. first off, what is your issue? The username to acsess the router is 99.9% of the time "Admin" and the password is usually nothing untill you tell it to be somthing during the first time setup.
then most of the time they don't tell you how to port forward because that is somthing usually done by people who know how to in the first place.
And lastly, why do you want to port forward anyways? If you're setting up a server be warned that doing so can cause extra charges by your ISP or a denial of service.

The issue is that the user and password isn't admin and password because Surewest has setup a different user and password so I can't access it. I need to be able to portfoward to set up a server. So I need a different router that I can login to so I can port foward.
I'm wondering what would be a good router to get.

The router control panel has the same password as your internet connection password.
