I was just playing Battlefield 3 multiplayer on a 64-player server. There was some pretty intense stuff going on (constant explosions, bullets flying everywhere, etc.), and I was using Ultra settings. I played for about an hour and a half then got off. I had HWMonitor running during the game so I could check temps when I finished playing, and it said the CPU maxes were 70, 67, 68, and 66 for each of the four cores and a package of 70. I don't know if this was just an extreme that occured for a second because of the intensity of the game or something more constant, but it worries me nonetheless. I have an Intel Core i5-4670K with CoolerMaster Hyper212 EVO. If you need more details in order to give advice, I'll be happy to help. Thanks!
what are you using to check temp? it would seem some programs bring up differant temps as others. try grabbing another temp taking program and then see.
i don't see why your chip is so hot unless you failed with the thermal paste.

Maybe I did fail; I don't know.
Anyway, I think it may have been just the particular match because I was just playing on more spread out maps and got max of 61.
The airflow in almost any high end case could suck if you don't place to fans in the right direction.
70C is fine, I get roughly 65C (oc'd) on my 2500k.
Correct. Non-overclocked.
My cable management is pretty good and the case has 3 fans, so I don't think that's it. Should I be worried?
Corsair Carbide Series 400R.

I didn't look at voltages, no. I will play again in a little bit and check.

at 90+ C the only thing that starts to degrade is the internal delid TIM, whereas the CPU itself can withstand temps of up to 150 C.
