Only reason it's as popular as it is (still nowhere near fraps), is because it advertises itself on all the videos it creates. I bet the editing and uploading functionality was just added to the program so people don't open it with another editor and realize an advert was automatically stuck onto the start of their video.
Used to use fraps (not the free edition, bummer right?) but after a little while when I was in editing the audio tracks just stopped working. I checked it with different programs and it was definitly fraps causing the problem.
So, fraps doesn't have any option that I know of to allow me to change audio/ video codecs, therefore no way to solve this problem.
Now I use bandicam pro and it works like an absolute charm. Having the window open on a second monitor allows me to actually see some stats on my recoding data, plenty of hotkey codec recording and other option to customize to you, and as a bonus you can specifically set up the area you want to record, and it'll even focus on directx/ opengl objects that are in fullscreen.
I highly recommend bandicam pro, it's ten times better than fraps just because of it's customizability.

In my experience, Fraps gives me terrible performance. I have an i7 3770K, a gtx 780, an 840 EVO that I load my games off of, and I record to a 2 TB Seagate Barracuda HDD, and yet I still get 50 fps max. However, with a program called Action! I easily get 200+ fps when recording Minecraft and little framerate loss in other games with perfect quality video at 60 fps.
did you edit the built in fraps FPS limit? as you do know it has a built in fps limiter:
see, righ there, it has a radio circle thingy for 50 fps max limit, you probably had that set (i have it set to 100 for benchmarking tests on youtube, to show people how my hd 2500 performs on certain settings on certain game)
Well, EZVid is horrible, I have to admit,
I guess it's a popular download, cause some youtubers, want a facecam, on there videos and record both the stereo mic. of the Game and your Voice at the same time, But it's a downfall. cause you can't save the file, it's not like Windows Live Movie Maker, where you edit the video and save the video, the video doesn't lag, unlike it's appearance in the Movie maker, but with EZVID, you get Lag like Ultra lag on both youtube and your recorded Vid, and the mic. makes weird Screech noises and even if you talk quiet, you can hear it still, and it's harder too, since if you're gonna record you Voice on a "Voice Recorder" and Import it to EZVid it won't work unless you choose "use your Own" and the Silent machine is just a static noise that blocks off everything, and The Software doesn't record sounds from the game, like Minecraft, I can't hear the sounds of Animals or the Music unlike when I play it.
There are many software to record with:
-Bandicam
-fraps
-Screencast-o-Matic
And maybe use Windows Live movie maker, even though it's simple it's easy to use,
But you're gonna use Facecam use Vegas Pro.

Don't try Camstudio while recording MC. Camstudio is awesome, but it messes up the controls and makes me go like inverted and go places randomly. Don't know if it's just my PC, but...
Still, good for other purposes.

I bet that ezvid just gets money from people making videos using it. They're just making money from it. Only immature 8 year-olds actually think that Ezvid is good.
I meant that Fraps may not be that compatible with that graphics card or processor.
Which part doesnt make sense?
