Oh why hello there. I was looking at the new razor blade 14" model and i noticed the specs on it were pretty good. Based on the standard model what would you say the FPS would be in minecraft on max settings.
Thanks for the help!
Please, not the blade 14".
There is no point in a laptop that thin. This is meant for gaming, and potability, but Razer went super overboard on the portability. Come on, I don't need a laptop thinner than a stand up dime! That's pointless. It weighs are 4.1 lbs, but unless you can't even lift 5.5-6 lbs, then it's really pointless. They should have gone with at least a 1.1 in design, and allowed for higher fan speeds and a better cooling system. The laptop is close to playing with fire. Anandtech reported a 91C average at load on the CPU. That's not good, since 100C is basically the no go area, 91C isn't pleasing either. All that for 2000$, I'd rather not. Not to mention, with 2000$, I expect a 1080p screen. Since this was "designed" for gamers and productivity.
Better alternatives are the M14x r3, which is surprisingly a good value for 14" gaming laptops, or any 15.6" gaming laptop, or the NP7330 from Sager, it comes out mid July, and is 13.3" with good specs.
Most self-defined "gaming" computer companies (Alienware, CyberPowerPC, Razer) all have underpowered parts and overpriced their products by quite a lot. In fact, the best laptops for gaming come from either Sager or MSI, even though neither explicitly advertise themselves as being gaming companies. The one "gaming" brand that is actually worth looking at is Asus ROG, which have some decent laptops for the price.
MSI's cooling is decent. Here's why. It comes in two settings, quiet and high. The quiet fan cooling isn't that great, and causes the CPU to reach 95C average. The high fan setting can cut down that number quite a bit, I've seen a review where it cut down roughly 20C~ on the CPU. However, with that said, the high fan setting is really loud, so no gaming on an airplane, unless you want to annoy people. With that aside, the audio quality is amazing for a laptop, and the keyboards are quite nice. The price is great for the mid range laptops (MSI GT70/60 2OC GTX 770m model) go for as low as 1399$. The Dragon Edition is just not worth the price.
There is no point in getting a gaming laptop in my opinion. The only good ones are bulky and heavy which basically negates the point of having a laptop in the first place. Get a $500 Lenovo or Asus and a $1500 desktop.
Not really, getting any "gaming" laptop past $1500 is just throwing money drown the drain. Asus Rip Off Gamers is no exception.
The amount of money spent has nothing to do if money is considered being thrown down the drain. Honestly, you can't go worse than Razer. The 2499$~ Razer Blade Pro is less powerful than a $1399 MSI, Sager, etc. The Sager NP9390 is 1670$ on XoticPC, it's really awesome for the price, and has an amazing chassis.
Asus laptops are overpriced, but they do come with nice build quality, and it manages to stay quiet and still remain cool.
No offence, but I think you're out of your f'ing mind paying that much for something to play Minecraft. Anything with a dual core and a couple gigs of RAM can run it.
Hopefully you're not buying it, but the FPS would be on the large side.
You forget a GPU. IIRC, no dual core has good integrated graphics. For MC, an APU laptop that's 600$ can run fine.
Also, I think anyone is out of their mind paying 2000$ for a Razer Blade. That laptop is at most 1300$. Other than it being thin, it has no other advantages, the screen is crappy, color reproduction and angles are bad, and it's not even 1920X1080.
No i won't use it for just minecraft. I will use it for playing and recording minecraft as well as flight simulator and any other thing that interests me at the time. Also i will be doing lots of things with photoshop, after effects, and premiere as well as using other programs to make minecraft animations. I just want a very powerful, thin and good looking laptop that will last a long time.

Last a long time? Then Razer is not your company. Their products are known to break within a year or so.

If you're looking to do things like that then I don't know why you would have even thought about Razer. If you need a powerful laptop than you are going to have to sacrifice the thin, lightweight approach. Most laptops with decent specs are thick to accommodate all of the components as well as adequate cooling so it doesn't melt. As stated above, check out Sager or MSI, they both make good laptops.

You could get a much better pc for less if you built it yourself

That just won't fly. As I said, the only good laptops that have a ton of power are pretty thick (1-2 inches) and heavy (7-10 pounds).
Honestly speaking, your laptop will probably spend most of it's time sitting on a desk anyways. So it would be a much wiser investment to just get a desktop.
don't get the razer blade. if you want a gaming laptop get a custom sagger. i don't think you can make one over 2grand, but im probably wrong on that.
or build a desktop pc, for 2 grand you could probably get 3 monitors running your game.

Ok so basically everyone in this thread told the thread-starter to not buy the razer 14".
Im simply going to answer his question. On max settings with a decent server (no lag) you should be getting nothing less than 45-50. Up to probably around 100fps honestly.
(my knowledge is due to owning a lot of premade computers and building a lot of custom computers)
I hate that build...
Useless i7, and a TITAN? he has a SINGLE 1366 x 768 SCREEN!!!
people on PcPartpicker don't know how to pick parts for a pc.

Now don't get me wrong the 3770 line of processors are GREAT in every way. 16gb of Ram is plenty even for futureproofing for a couple years to come. But seriously. A titan? with a 15inch screen? Some people are just plain stupid.

1366x768 res too. my laptop runs that res at high settings
Thanks for the help!

Only minecraft? A GTX 765m is overkill for minecraft. You'll get more than necessary, that's the answer.
