Yea, from what I've heard it's supposed to be good. The asus PB278Q and the samsung S27A850D are the other two that I'm currently considering but I've heard that they've generally had worse backlight bleeding than the dell. Still not sure though, the samsung is ~$100 cheaper and the asus is around the same price as the dell but I've mostly heard good things about it too, apart from some cases of backlight bleeding.

Granted Dell monitors are bad, but the Ultrasharp series produced by Dell are actually some of the best monitors around.
You have a great point, and I really kind of broke my own moral code just outright shunning Ultrasharp. Allow me to elaborate on my opinion. Asus also has some really great monitors, definitely on par with Ultrasharp. The only reason I'd go with the Asus over the Dell, is because Dell makes such rubbish computers that I would be embarrassed to have a product with a Dell label on it, and I wouldn't support a company that makes overpriced trash. Dell buying Alienware was a tragedy.

Dell monitors are rebranded BenQ and Samsung for the most part, so that doesn't really factor into anything, i'd personally get the Dell, very very good monitor
I'm not particularly interested in the korean models for anybody who feels like mentioning them.
At the moment I'm leaning towards the dell ultrasharp u2713hm.
