So I want to hook up 5.1 to the back side of my PC, but the back of my motherboard only has 3 audio outputs, and I want it all in the back. I know that I can theoretically use the front panel, but I just prefer it in the back. I'm looking to get a cheap 30$ sound card from newegg. The current card I'm looking at is this. I'm not the most well versed in sound cards, but the reviews are good, and it is probably better than my onboard sound. My motherboard is found here, and my PCIEX16 slot is already taken up by a 7950. I am not sure whether or not the second slot is big enough for the sound card, as I don't know where to find out which PCIE port it is compatible with. Any help is appreciated!

I'm sure it's compatible. It's that little while PCIE, next to where punt in your GPU. If you can see if the opening is big enough, you can install it. Plus, that's a pretty good card.
What headphones do you use?

Will the sound quality suffer based on it being PCI-Ex1?
