I would like to buy minecraft but I noticed that my pc lags on the demo even with minimum settings. I was planning on getting a new high end laptop in the future but it will be quite a while before I can afford one and it seems I won't be able to wait for it so in the meantime I need something very cheap like $400 or less. First off it needs to be a laptop because I can't keep it in one place for to long and second I would really extremely prefer it to have a 17" screen because I have issues with smaller ones. Aside from that it just needs to be as good of quaility for the price (something that's not going to die quickly), I figure it can handle everything else I need it to if it can handle minecraft. I am not much of a pc gamer and minecraft is the most graphic intensive game I have had interest in playing. I don't need the game on it's highest settings, just enough to enjoy it. So does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions, I figure I probably won't find a 17" in my price range and will have to settle with a 15" but I wouldn't be able to deal with anything less then that. Now I have a couple of choices but if I can get some more that would be great because I like to have a lot of options so if there are any other suggestions whether it be the same brands or others it would help me out alot. Thanks again.
That laptop looks fine, asus is know to make good laptops and it also has dual channel memory, which will help out graphics performance since that has an a8. Should be fine for pretty much any undemanding game.
I would go with the Samsung laptop posted by jppk1 because it's a bit cheaper and I can't find any info on the speed of the RAM for the Asus laptop which is important. APU's get a lot more performance out of faster RAM and 1600MHz is probably the fastest you'll find in any low budget laptop.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
According to the AMD website (which gave me the link to the laptop at walmart) the laptop in question comes with a AMD Radeon HD 7640G GPU, though granted it doesn't say anything about the speed of the RAM.

And no, Dells are never recommended here due to quality and heat issues. You also didn't specify anything about the laptop, so we can't say anything about performance.
That being said, there's this laptop, and a 15" version for another $100 more.
You'll want to fine a laptop with an AMD A6 or A8. Avoid HP, Dell, and Acer. The companies to buy from are Asus, MSi, Sager, or Lenovo.
