NOTE: I am a noob here so I apologies to any mistakes I make.
Problem
I've installed SEUS v10 (Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders mod) on my minecraft togther with Optifine. SEUS v10 has features such as bump mapping, reflections, realistic water, motion blur or DOF, and waving grass, flowers and leaves. But, it heavily lags my minecraft (12 - 30fps). Now I'd like to ask if what part of the computer should I upgrade. I am aware that minecraft uses ALOT of ram but, I am not sure if shaders makes me lag by using my video card.
The 7970 is probably your best bet though it's really expensive, and I think an i5 would do you better.
An i5 most likely wouldn't make any difference at all if all he's going to do is play minecraft.

Wait, I have an Asrock Fm2a85x Extreme4-M Motherboard so i dont have a graphics card.
Everything else is fine but should i be worried about using shaders? i dont know the full specs on this thing but on vanilla minecraft i get about 60-70 fps, would i be ok with shaders?

-Hopefully I'd get a legit answer-
2. SEUS has a lot of incompatibilities with Nvidia cards.
Actually, since the people working on SEUS are AMD users, most Nvidia cards run worse/have tons of bugs with SEUS.
Also, Sonic Ether plays on 720p at normal render distance . That's why he can run it fine.
An i5 most likely wouldn't make any difference at all if all he's going to do is play minecraft.
