it should be ok, 30-40 on normal/far with fast graphics.
Although you should be able to handle a few mods, and good multitasking with that CPU, you might even be able to do a bit of Recording.

Proud member of the MCF AWA war of '13! if someone suggests Alienware or Cyberpower, wait for a custom-built list from someone who knows their stuff. Meh Rig
The HP from Best Buy will perform better in games, but the Lenovo from Newegg has higher build quality so it will probably last longer and not get as hot.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
I never did post a lot, but now I'm leaving forever. This forum in general is a joke, with the crappy mods, handing out infractions like nobody's business, and just being plain stupid. There's that and there's the amount of stupidity that members hold nowadays. XDA Developers and OCN here I come!
WHOAH WHOAH
why buy a craptop and not just build a comp?
You could get SO much more man
no offense
Some people HAVE to have a laptop, Like I did for a couple years when I was at my Mom's house for 4 days then at my dads for 4.

I can't spell, don't shoot me for it! Computer: Intel i5 2500k (Not overclocked for now) 8GB DDR3, 60GB agility3 SSD, 1TB 7200rpm storage, HIS-AMD HD6870. 3 1080p Screens, and one 17 inch, running on the HD3000 and the 6870.

1. A 400 dollar desktop? Will be crap. Display + Case + OS will be above 200 dollars, and spending 200 on the other components will not work one bit!
This one is even 500 dollars
2. Some people need to be mobile
3. Prebuilts are strongly antagonized. Sometimes people don't want to build their own computer.
4. Keeping things safe with you (Like if you are at college) is important. If you keep you laptop in your backback, who can steal it.
Get the Lenovo (Well that should be a given...HP ;/). A 2.4 Ghz Intel will destroy a 1.9 Ghz AMD processor. And Intel Graphics 3000 gets me about 30 fps on normal while hovering above my redstone builds (i5, so you will be much better off, especially when on the ground. I am sure that the APU vs HD4000 is comparative and roughly similar.

yup laptop. would these graphics play it better with an amd a8 processor? :
AMD Radeon HD 7640G discrete-class graphics
Edit: Mhyles what you think about the A8; should do it?
Not insanely weak, but powerful enough to have a smooth time in MC even on Normal to far view distance with Fast graphics.
If I got 40~ FPS or more with HD3000, then HD4000 will perform much better.
Still a APU would provide more bite.
does this make a difference or is that my internet connection that would cause me to lag?
I assume it will. Especially moving blocks and particles :/

why would you game on a laptop? LOL
i would suggest a 100 dollar laptop then build a real rig
laptops are not for gaming
Desktop =/= mobile
Some people cannot stay or are not able to stay in one spot. That or they rather all their important information remain with them.
Say a college dorm, your crap could get stolen or destroyed, laptop you can keep with you and safe.

Budget range laptops, APU > Intel.
