I am asking what it is precisely because my friends keep talking about it online and I was asking if I can play and they said you nee hamachi.What is it? A new plug-in for servers or something? I am lost. :-/

Hamachi is the best thing if you don't want to buy a server. Just invite your friend in your Hamachi's group and make the server.

All free and you can play with your friend.

But the connection is a piece of trash if the person hosting doesn't have a decent computer.

This hamachi thing sounds like a good deal if people are too cheap to buy a server. :>

If your connection really is rubbish then you will get a high ping and significant lag, it isn't magic.

It works the same with any multi-player game that allows you to run a LAN server for the game in your home, a lot of the Youtubers doing co-op Lets Play videos are connecting to each other using Hamachi for the game and skype for the commentary since they don't actually live anywhere near each other.

Rubbish connection + rubbish connection = rubbish server

You need decent internet to run a server, but the computer it's running off of doesn't have to be great by any means.
