So, this is for you to post your HORRIBLE ideas for ruining your pc!
I'll go first.
10 things to NOT do with windows:
1 Delete system32. Once you do it, congrats! You deleted most of the system.
2 Mess around with regedit without knowing what you're doing. You may get the previous one's results... or worse. Most likely you'll get a bsod.
3 Rename a folder to "con" and try to delete it. Windows will think you're deleting something very important, and you'll probably get tons of errors even if the folder is empty. Idk why.
4 Install windows over windows. As far as I know, this only works in xp. Tons of crazy stuff happen!
5 Run csrss. (You need to download native.exe in order to do so)
You get a bsod, not worth downloading the program for this.
6 Run this code (sorry if it's not correct I almost forgot it):
Print "test text"
Return "test text"
(Or something idk just google it)
Your pc will crash.
7 Remove installation disk during installation. Never tried this one out, nor do I want to. So idk what'll happen, but definitely nothing good.
8 Name the c drive "@'%.&€*,?!#/:\;".
It gets even worse in 95. And only works on russian builds.
9 Install windows to con. Remember the forbidden folder from 3? Well, turns out you can install windows to it. Yes, really. Thx microsoft. But, it'll be REALLY glitchy, so don't do it.
10 Delete windows. Now your pc has no system. (Unless you're dualbooting with another one xd)
Do you really think it's a good idea to tell people how to mess up their (or others') machines?
Saved anyway as a list to know what to avoid messing with.
That was exavtly my intention. To get some laughs, and to make others know what to never mess around with. Well, you can mess arounf with regedit, but ONLY if you know ehat you're doing. If not, stay away. I literally only opened the windows folder to check out some small wallpapers at a bigger size and to check out that all of it was fine. The only thing that you can delete if you want is the system folder. It's empty, after nt all of its contents were moved to system32. I like to keep it as a tribute to the past tjough.
P.S. Why did I make so many typod here?
Reading this is kinda embarassing...
EDIT: Most embarassing part was making a typo while typing typos.
Stacks, like I said, you don't need to try so hard to make these forum channels active. You're necroposting things people aren't interested in and those topics will likely get locked. And making a topic just to make a topic is similar. If people want to talk here, they will. Personally, I am here to discuss Minecraft and the state of the forum. I'm not too into off-topic sections of most forums (as it's a mix of nerdy stuff, roleplay, and random interests I don't have).
Also don't remove the drive that you are updating the BIOS from, while dual BIOS supported motherboards can recover from this, many motherboards do not have two BIOS's installed and if that gets corrupted, it can brick your system.
Seriously though it isn't sensible to tell people the many ways in how to mess up a machine, what if somebody who holds a grudge against somebody else who lives close to them, uses this knowledge to ruin a person's PC beyond repair? it doesn't even take malware to do it, malware is only a small portion of the ways in which you can make a PC useless, although modern PC's have very good safeguards against this and it's hard to brick someone's PC permanently just by using malware, it is possible, but you first need to get past things like secure boot, and in the case of Linux, password for administrator privileges each time an attempt to install something is being done, that part I wouldn't tell even if I could, ruining innocent people's property is messed up.
But corrupting firmware on motherboards is one sure fire way to destroy a PC forever, especially if that firmware can no longer be reflashed forcing the owner to buy new parts. In short, be very careful when doing firmware or BIOS updates.
The reason why "con" (and several other special names) causes issues has to do with a decision made long before Windows was created and its support for backwards compatibility (which is usually a good thing; imagine if OpenGL had decided to completely drop support for OpenGL 1 in 2008 - no playing any old versions prior to 1.17 (or rather, Minecraft never would have been written to use such obsolete rendering methods as it wasn't created until a year later, though I still had a computer with a GPU that only supported OpenGL 2 until 2016):
Windows “reserves” certain file names and doesn’t let you use them anywhere. Forget calling a file “con.txt” or “aux.mp3”. This is all because of a choice made in 1974 and Microsoft’s thirst for eternal backward compatibility.
This also caused issues back in the days when mods were all manually installed into the jar (and some still are, though they usually have installers), which can have files with reserved names, most notably "aux.class" which are allowed because they are inside another file (a Java jar file is basically a zip file with a different extension), and most zip managers can handle them since Windows itself never actually sees them, but some modding guides would tell you to extract the entire jar, add your files, then zip it back up, but that only worked with certain versions:
e.g. this is what happens with 1.6.4 on Windows 10:
Somebody did actually install my own mod by extracting the jar but the missing class will cause issues if it is ever accessed, luckily for them aux.class is just the prompt that appears when you delete a world, as opposed to being a critical core file (I imagine that MCP itself would have issues reobfuscating a mod which modified this class, a work-around would be to replace it with a custom named class but you'd also have to modify every class that referenced it):
I even had the same issue the first time I ever installed a mod, which was Optifine for 1.5.1, and Windows 7 just stopped extracting the jar when it hit aux.class so it was completely broken (I only noticed after it failed to launch and I noticed the re-zipped jar was a lot smaller; I tried using 7Zip, which I already had, but got an error and ended up downloading WinRar, which I use to this day to install mods).
I knew it had something to do with windows using it for something, but I didn't know it was yet another backwards compatibility thingy (like the c drive being c and not a or b).

Actually, system still has a few DLLs left.
You probably mistook it with 1025, which is the actually empty folder in windows.
Even though, it's understandable, since 1025 is a system32 subdirectory.

Not even my hello world works :'C
(But powerpoint does xd)
Btw what does api stand for?
Btw the only way to get a folder called "con" is naming it something else, opening command prompt and using the rename command.
So, you do this:
New folder in desktop called kwlsiskaikaka
Open command prompt
Once you're there type "cd desktop" and then "rename kwlsiskaikaka con"
P.S. Yaaaay this time I didn't make any typos!

Well, I made this because I wanted to know what your worst ideas for doing to your pc were. And so that people know what to avoid.
(Yes, that last part was quoting you)
Not for making a topic.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
