Hi. I have a Dell Optiplex 380 and I'm trying to make it a small gaming computer that is just temporary until this summer for Minecraft and other small games. I have a 255w power supply and I just bought a lga775 core 2 duo 3.0ghz CPU and it has 4 GB Kingston ram now. All I need is a small low profile card just to make this a temporary Minecraft computer for mods like technic launcher and ftb. I have 115$ I can spend on a card. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. I'll leave a pic of the computer.
Really don't want to complicate things for you, but remember that just because low-power GPUs don't require additional power from the power supply doesn't mean they don't use power at all. They're still usually drawing ~60-75w in the case of gaming cards.
You'll still likely be fine with anything recommended above, but please consider this. It's always worth a little bit of extra research.

Given the rest of the PC, the PSU will still be fine with pretty much any GPU that doesn't require an extra power connector. I'd actually say the bigger thing to watch out for is that it will fit. Since the case form factor is BTX, the card will sit with it's heatsink facing up instead of down, so a dual slot card may have issues with clearance because of the CPU heatsink shroud, and it definitely needs to have only one IO slot bracket and not two (unless there's no ports on the second slot portion and you want to remove the bracket to make it fit or something).
I also have a OptiPlex 380, albeit mine is a smaller form factor and not a tower, which sits under my TV as an HTPC of sorts, and also sees some Minecraft use. I've been using it for this for at least three years now. It has a Core 2 Duo E8600, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and a GeForce GT 430. This works well for a render distance of like 12 to 16 with some Anti-aliasing/Supersampling on top at a low resolution of 1366 x 768. I'm looking to upgrade to a low profile 750 Ti sometime soon-ish maybe though so I can raise the render distance (the GTX 1050 has surpassed it as the best low profile option, but since I need a single bracket slot card I don't think it's an option for me unless another brand makes one that way).
You don't need a low profile card in your case though. Just make sure it's one IO slot and has clearance for the CPU heatsink shroud.
