Maybe, but these days I find it harder to recommend AMD cpu's. I mean their great for the price, but my fx-6300 is starting to bottneck my r9 270, though this was more of the games fault for not being fully optimized. I would recommend an i5, the cheap 4000 what ever name it was.
I was thinking more like a 4430, I really don't know the difference in the whole i5 category, besides the obvious.
But the dude posting this thread thing, probably should just use his APU for now.
It is, but you will need to buy ddr4, and if you already have ddr3, it can be an extra $50 you have to pay. Plus the motherboards are a bit on the expensive side, not many cheap options.

Plenty of cheap 1151 motherboards available And on the flip side if he buys DDR4 now he won't have to by any memory again for the next 5+ years while that DDR3 has no where to go.

Depends on what games you play/want to play and at what settings.

2: the r9 380 (if that's what your getting), is a great card capable of running most games at ultra or very high at 1200p. you will not need to lower settings.

it should have some minor-moderate bottleneck, get a fx 6300 to fix that.

An fx-6300 will still bottleneck an r9 390. You would have to get an i5 or higher.

there are chipset's that support the skylake platform that do NOT need DDR4

In theory. In practice though, there's only one or two motherboards that can use DDR3, and even then it's DDR3-L, not regular DDR3.
Depends on what games you play/want to play and at what settings.

I have two things to say about that:
1: wait for Zen, it could be great
2: the r9 380 (if that's what your getting), is a great card capable of running most games at ultra or very high at 1200p. you will not need to lower settings.

Zen is over a year away, it's not really feasible to wait if you have no ways of playing games currently.
