Getting a computer built for my son. I really don't like Windows 8, so I am planning on going with Window's 7. My question is do I get the 32 bit version or the 64 bit? Thanks!
If you want a more capable system , 64-bit is the definite choice! Nice choice with windows 7 by the way, Along with 95, it's my favorite windows version Steer clear of Vista at all costs

Thank you! Yea, I've heard Vista is a nightmare. I have a copy of Windows XP I could use, but that's probably a bit outdated, wouldn't you say?
If your son is using for school work, 64-bit
If your son is using this for gaming? 64-bit
If your son is using this purely for internet and checking emails.. 64-bit
If your son has his computer on in any of the 24 hours the computer is built 64-bit

64 bit but 85 dollars for a 500 gig drive is too much, you can easily find a 7200 rpm terabyte drive for the same price maybe even less. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003 Seagate is as good a company as WD and there Barracuda drives are really popular. Also on a side note the on chip graphics will be fine to play Minecraft at a decent framerate but if he wants to play anything else you're gonna need an actual video card. Of course you can just wait and make that a Christmas/Birthday present for later :P. (If you do this you may need a better power supply as well depending on the card)
I Will agree with that, Home premium Serves really well i do miss XP though You'll definitely want a better Graphics card (as everyone else has so kindly stated) if you plan for this to be a permanent system that won't need to be touched for a while. If you stick with the chip, and try to play something else (Something more of a newer release) You'll soon find yourself back on the market
Baseball, then Minecraft.
That depends, is it a 32-bit rig, or 64? Get the OS version that matches the hardware.

You think magic isn't real? Consider this: for every person, there is a sentence -- a series of words -- which has the power to destroy them.

So would you go with 64 bit?
Are there actual people who like it?

He won't be able to do much/any gaming without a graphics card, (a good one).
EDIT: And you're paying way too much for that HDD. I saw a $50 one that stores 1 TB on there.
Also, @Windows 7 Ultimate comment. That is completely unneeded and a waste of money, 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium is the one to get.
