So i just want a second opinion, Does this look good for what i should be able to do (i.e, Medium lvl gaming - i don't need ultra graphics, just a playable med-res - won't be playing too many high power games e.g. battlefield 3/4 COD, but moderatly recent 3D games are on my list. I also want to be able to do some CGI, nothing too much, not ultra-reality But some pretty realistic things are on there - Blender Cycles rendering is high on the list.)
I'm fine with most of the specs, but there isn't a ton of RAM for $650. And the CPU can only hit 2.5 GHz, it's not amazing for gaming.
I'm going to say this before anyone else does, but building a PC is better. It saves you money most of the time, you can build it exactly how you want, and all you need is a screwdriver and a computer to look up a tutorial if you don't know how already. Ask someone else for a build already set up.

Yeah, i know, it's just that i'd like a laptop so i can move it around. (LAN PARTY!) But if i don't think this will get me where i want to be, i will look into building. Also, I'm fairly certain that i can get a CPU at 3.1GHz, that's what my computer store site says (2.4GHz/3.1GHz)
If you do buy this laptop then before you do anything run this: http://pcdecrapifier.com/
There is a lot of crap bundled with it. Just watch out that you don't uninstall drivers.

There are a few available but not that one. I hope oversea's shipping is allowed.
Ok! Thanks everyone!
NB: I may not actually use the windows OS, i use linux a lot. So if anything i'll have it there for windows games. Thanks anyway!

If we refuse to help you because you're being stubborn, well I guess you'll just have to
I don't know if you can get that in Australia?
But it is equal to about $850 AUD.
Hey everyone, I'm back!

This.
As I said before, ideapads are virtually impossible to find in Australia.
The laptop the OP listed is probably the best deal you're going to get here.

That computer is coming with Norton AV and Backup. Remove it or use that to remove more.

I am aware of that. *Flush* Thanks!
