Another question. Will all kinds of things work together? What I mean is like say I have a launcher. Could I use a different keyboard from the Play Store rather than the one that comes with the launcher? Stuff like that. Is that possible?

Yes, absolute 100% customizable to w/e your likings are.
I'm seriously thinking about the G2. I have heard very good reviews on the phone. What do you guys think? And, if I were to root it, how easy would it be?
You need to flash a custom ROM to uninstall crap apps, rooting is not enough.
To further expand on this one.
You really want a non ODEX based rom. Makes "cleaning" up pre-loaded apps much more easy as well custom adding (if wanted).
Sure you can edit stock rom, but you still need a custom recovery to backup current rom before you even touch it. So so easy to break a OS. Also carriers are sneaky and include junk apps that must stay and ensures you don't screw around removing their adware. Custom roms makers tend to remove these and bare-bone the rom so you can customize it yourself from start.
Back to the emulator thing. If I don't have an SD Card, how can I get the games on the device? Would I just download it off the internet or what?
I will just honestly say, the phones or android devices without Micro SD slots lose quite a bit of functionality. Not to say ones without are poor marketing tactics to make people spend more money for more "storage" space.
But that is not a answer I know about the storage thing. It varies device to device.

i know on my nexus 7 they go into the main folder of the device under its downlaods section, just go to the emulator and most will browse through and find it

Makes sense then. I know the three two phones I have. Absolute are limited really without a micro SD card installed. As only app data is allowed in the ./data partition.
Well, even if its hard to install emulator games and such, its probably not too big of a deal. Yes, it would be nice to be able to play those games, but I'll probably end up mainly watching Youtube, Surfing the web, and some games when I'm bored.
Well, the Nexus 5 is getting really near releasing, and all the specs look great, except for 1. That is the battery.Everything is saying it will be 2300mah. Everyone is saying that it won't last long, but some are saying that it will be fine because the Snapdragon 800 is pretty good on battery. Also, how much is the Galaxy Note 3 (in USD)(in just in case I think about getting it).
Ok, the more that I see of the Note 3, the more I want it. I may get the Note 3 instead of the next Nexus. At this point, the only think making me want the Nexus over the Note is the price. The Nexus will probably be less than half the price of the Note 3 (but hey, you getting a ton more things with the Note), so I an undecided. Which do you guys think I should get (looking at the rumored specs for the Nexus 5)?
PS I still have to see the size in person of the Note 3.
Neither. Get a cheaper tablet that fits your very basic needs.
Specs mean nothing for phones/tablets with how lightweight apps are.
Well, I'm still undecided, but the Note 3 has so many really cool features that I really want to use. Oh, and I don't really have a phone at this current time.
Say I get the Note 3. I like all the cool features, but say I were to install a launcher or something. Would I be able to keep those features while using a launcher? If not, then what are these themes I keep hearing about? Are they like different textures for app icons?
Yes, absolute 100% customizable to w/e your likings are.
Keyboard = Swift Key hands down (can try free version)
Launcher = Default is best if ICS or higher, but this one called Holo Launcher is very nice also.
Those are just personal suggestions, it is all personal.

But it's name does apply to what it was meant for to say.
Themes are just that, themes. Basically textures.
