I'm not just a fanboy. I'm not biased for no reason, and neither is he.
There are multiple very good reasons why Apple is a **** company and has **** devices. I don't see how you people can be so ignorant/blind to the obvious. Android does pretty much absolutely everything the iPhone does, in a better way (usually), and more. It has many, many more great functionalities and apps Apple's too selfish to allow you to use. And seriously, the other major tech companies don't patent troll nearly as bad as Apple has been.
I've extansively used products from both Android and Apple, and Android beats Apple in EVERY ****ING WAY POSSIBLE. I even like my crappy old Optimus V that I've replaced with an Xperia PLAY more than an iPhone 74384738438GS or whatever the **** they call them. Why? Because I can do what I want with it. I'm not restricted by some selfish asshole company.
Mac? Come on. Premiere Pro, Sony Vegas, After Effects, et cetera. besides, they ruined the latest Final Cut Pro. Like the UI? Linux with mac skins, or if you're stupid, hackintosh.
All I can say to Apple at this point is this:
**** you, you selfish, bitchy assholes, and get the **** out of here. I can't use your devices for anything useful, and you're **** is too overpriced. Either nuke your HQ, or start making microwaves or something.

I think it is fair to say that most other companies did copy apple. when the iphone came out it was the only phone of its kind. Then android comes out that is almost the same thing as it. Also with the ipad came out there were no other tablets and just like the iphone a year later a whole bunch of products like it come out. Macs are overpriced but they do have good build quality and software.
Doesn't mean it didn't happen and that your golden media cow wasn't trying to shift its ******** in software updates. If, at ANY point, I had to untick a box everytime I got a firmware update for my devices, regardless of their make, then I'd be bitching about it just as much as I am now.
I'm sorry, I am completely confused by the point you are trying to make in that second sentence.
Caching =/= Using a screenshot of a static screen to give the illusion of quicker loading times.
You have no proof of this. This "illusion" you see is only there because of caching. Not because apple wants you to think they have fast load times, which is completely dependent of the app.
Again, I could give a **** about what is actually used 'in the industry' or not - I'm still not personally going to pay crApple nigh-on £2300 to use their garbage on their restrictive computers, especially not when I can pay about $600 for software I can use on whatever OS I damn well want.
You really have no idea what you are talking about. For one, Sony Vegas is windows only. Suck on that for a while. While we are at it, FCP is only $300, not £2300. As well, AVID is the highest level of video editing software you can buy. I know I can get BC to back me up on that one. Though does everyone use it? No, some people prefer to use FCP or Adobe or whatever software they want. To a lot of people that actually are video editors, the $2500 is worth it for AVID.
Also, cool move assuming I know nothing about video editing software. Tell me, do you have a little file on me detailing everything I've ever done or used in my life? Thought not. I can tell the difference between quality video editing software and some ******** that little kiddies use to post poorly-cut AMVs on Youtube without your rattling on about 'industry standard' software, thank you very much.
It's quite easy to tell you know nothing from your previous post and this post. Considering that FCP is used in professional video editing.
Mentioned it twice in my original post and once in my reply to you. Three sentences out of the twenty that were actually directed at you. If you perceive that as the bulk of my argument then you need to go back to school.
It was used more than your other arguments. Which pretty much makes it the bulk. Counting sentences also means nothing. I could count the sentences in this post, but do these last two sentences mean anything to my argument? No. My point being that there is a lot of filler in between ideas.
That the auto-ticked boxes in software updates for programs like Quicktime and iTunes that installed Safari on the system shouldn't have existed in the first place. Children and older people just click 'next' to install such updates without reading into it too much due to ToS being frequently lumped into such update windows. Then they find themselves with another web browser installed on their computer that they didn't want that got there via a mandatory update to a piece of software they use frequently.
Oh, that is what you meant. I've never had a problem deleting software.
This particular tactic pissed me off when it was being employed by Apple, mainly because I shouldn't have to untick a box that would allow the install of their web browser every time iTunes updated. I'd be just as pissed if other major hardware and software developers did this in their updates too.
I don't use iTunes anymore, so I wouldn't know this. I use Foobar2K
Why don't you show me evidence that it isn't the case? I'd be more inclined to take your point afterwards.
I don't need evidence since your idea sounds like it is pulled out of your ass and mine doesn't.
Let's see... A decent Macbook costs around £2000 in the UK. Then if I add the price of this Mac-only software on top and VAT, I'll have spent roughly £2500 for the capability to use that particular piece of software. This might be good for people in the film and television industry, but it's a hell of a lot of money for a hobbyist to spend on a company's proprietary software.
It's not all about you. There are more people in the world than just you.
I assumed that Wine would run Vegas on Ubuntu. Hm, oh well.
WINE isn't that great. Most software that you run through it feel quite clunky.
Again, I don't give a **** if FCP is used by professionals or not. I'm talking about software for ordinary people with realistic budgets, which is a demographic that Apple is increasingly alienating itself from anyway. (Well, aside from those who'd rather starve to death than miss the opportunity to accessorize themselves with the latest iWhatever to pretend they have a higher status than they do. But hey, there's a Darwin Award for everyone.)
You think that there aren't realistic hobbyist that use FCP? I know people in the amateur film industry that use FCP. And that last part, apart from being a stereotype of people who apple products, was completely unnecessary and I will act like you didn't put it there. I will look more at your solid real argument rather than your frivolous attacks on a company that no one is making you buy from.
Right, like the bulk of your argument is comprised of strawman.
If only that was true. If you can provide perfect examples of this in my argument, well, good for you. However much of my arguments make sense and you obviously have no idea what you are talking about but act like you do. That is what they call talking out of your ass.
This is a very hard thing to prove. Again, it can be easy for a site to mistake that sort of thing for caching. This idea could also be for the reason of visual, but not making people believe it loads faster. Would you rather look at a blank screen or the app? Intent is nearly impossible to read.
There are more people in the UK than me too.
Sigh, you could pick at my words all day. It was quite obvious that I was trying to say that you are looking at a selfish point of view, talking only about your situation. But if this is the best your argument can provide so be it.
Neither is FCP.
Wow, okay. That's just rude. And how often do you work with FCP? I've worked with it quite a bit. I was telling you that a completely true statement that was completely irrelevant to the argument. But go ahead, be that way. By that logic I will say neither is Sony Vegas Pro.
Good for them if they can afford it.
They enjoy using it.

Fallacy. I used myself as an example, not claiming that I was a hobbyist looking for such software.
Using yourself as an example is a terrible way to present an argument. Let me remind everyone that "if"s or theoretical statements are not real arguments. So let's start there. Now let's move on to what is at hand. I was assuming you were at least hobbyist cause you said that I shouldn't assume you know nothing about video editing software, right? So I should assume you do know? I think at least a hobbyist would know.

And before anybody asks: Yes, I've tested their products. And besides their computers being okay for graphic design work, there's not a hell of a lot else their stuff does that isn't done better elsewhere.
Fallacy. I never mentioned other people's preferences or opinions anywhere in that post, only my own.
I wasn't using the personal preference against you, merely clearing up that it is not the end all be all software of the video editing software industry. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought it was quite clear. And your own experiences are anecdotal, at best.
Also, I could care less about who uses Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro. The system is overpriced, the software is overpriced too. I could do the same thing on this crappy laptop with Sony Vegas Pro without shelling out £2000 for a Macbook for the privilege of using $300 software that already exists in a different form. But good for you if you can afford to waste that much money. Fallacy. You present a completely different position and attack it.
What position? I was saying that there are people with different positions. Some like FCP, some like Sony Vegas Pro, though it is not used as often, some like Media Composer 6, some like Adobe software. What you did was read my statement wrong on purpose for the sake of calling me out. Hopefully make last two sentences made that last quote more clear. You could probably read this rwrong too, but do what you must to, as I said before, talk out of your ass. Also, let me make this clear, while it may seem easy to assume bias in the mac vs PC idea, I have truly remained unbiased and have chosen to just point out some wrong statements you have made.
We never can have a civilized discussion. Of course I tried my best to not attack or present bias. In fact, this argument is quite against my bias if you were to guess it. Though he seems to be more concentrated on trying to make me rage than presenting real evidence. Such as the statement:
Neither is FCP
When my intent was neither to attack his argument or attack him with the statement he replied to with that. With that in mind, I will probably stop since he can't pull together any sort of real argument anymore. Instead he chooses to simply mince words and pick at my statements as if it makes a difference.
On an off-topic note: I hate how people always complain about how expensive Apple's products are. You know why they're so expensive? Because people are willing to pay that much for an Apple computer. To most people, It's not just the hardware that matters, it's the user experience. Customer support is amazing, and everything is extremely easy to use. If most people didn't like the extremely high prices of Apple's products, Apple would've stopped doing it a long time ago.

XeroX invented the mouse and overall graphical interface, and Apple Computer Co. (as it was named) bought it.
Apple never bought it. Actually when Apple originally sued MS, Xerox in turn sued Apple.
The mouse was invented by a guy at IBM, I think. Doug Encklebert (spelling in question).
The ideal situation would be building new software on the shoulders of our predecessors. The patent system however seems to enforce the building of software by stepping on their feet.
I only accept people buying Nintendo products if it is the Nintendo 64 or an earlier model.

Not so much with alienware anymore.
They haven't done it since 2008, so it isn't even relevant anymore.
