I need help on building a pc good for gaming. I want to be able to play games that have really good graphics, and can run first-person or third-person at good FPS.
Would you mind posting your builds onto this topic so I can get an idea of what kind of build I could make?
CPU: 3770K Ivy Bridge Quad core (8 threads) @3.5 (I OC it to 4.2 runs at 42c under max load) Motherboard: P8Z77-V DELUXE Intel Z77
Ram: Corsair Vengeance (blue) 16 gigs at 1600MHz
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
Drives: 120Gig OCZ SSD (boot) and a 2 Tb HDD (storage drive)
It might be a LITTLE overkill but in 3-5 years, i will still be able to play all the games with pretty good graphics
That is awful for the price, it won't even run BF3 maxed out @ 60 FPS.
If you want something that gives you the best "overkill bang for the buck", thisis it, but if you are willing to overclock your GPU, you can switch the GTX 670 to the Radeon HD 7970 with an HIS IceQ Turbo cooler, or an ASUS DirectCU II cooler (the first gives better cooling performance, the second quietest performance, both beat the MSI Twin Frozr III)...and yes, it is a fact that the 7970 runs faster overclocked compared to the 680 due to the unlocked voltage control (the 680 has a voltage limit, limiting overclocking severely).
Also, do you want a side window with color coordinated insides? If you do, thismay be for you.
As for my build, its in my sig, but it was built last year. Again, PCPartpicker won't let me choose an OS, so add win 7 home premium
My build runs BF3 on the ultra preset @ ~ 40-60 FPS
The build I gave you will run BF3 on the ultra preset...at over 60 FPS (60 FPS is you monitor's refresh rate, unless you have a 3D monitor.

actually... my rig does run BF3 at maxed out at 60. Do you know why because i have the same graphics card as you. O.O did you even think to read before you start making your negative comments? and by the way, no one really cares that you get that many FPS. This is to post your build to the person who asked for it, not try to make someone else feel bad because you might get a few FPS higher. DUDE no one cares about that. Also getting a 300+ graphics card is not smart, the performance for the dollar is not there at all. and your not going to see much of a difference between 50-60 in something like skyrim or other games like that.

"maxed out" means ultra at 1920*1080 (preferably with 4xMSAA)

I have the exact same GPU, and can say your are lying. Also, you won't be getting 300+ FPS, but for next gen games, you might need that graphics horsepower. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, I
am helping him get a good build for his money.

Maxed out is at the ultra preset...which means 4xMSAA
when i said 300+ i meant in $ not FPS. Theres pretty much no card that can get 300+ fps in any "good" game lol (maybe 2 960's in SLI)

There's some $300+ GPUs that have better value than some $300- GPUs. What are you even talking about? And earthrace wasn't bragging, he was helping determine what fps an overclocked 560 Ti would get. Furthermore, there's no way you can get 60 fps maxed out in BF3. The 560 Ti, even overclocked can't do that. Christloi (or whatever his username is) made an excellent chart showing which GPUs have the best bang for your buck.

We are not trying to be negative, we are simply pointing out the fact that a 560 Ti can NOT max out BF3. I have a Radeon HD 6950 which performs VERY similarly to the 560 Ti and at 1920x1200 and Ultra with AA turned down to 2x or off(can't remember) I only get around 30-40 fps and that's on a small map with around 16 people. This is not our opinion, it's a fact.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

That's a nice build you got there. May I ask what kind of games you're able to play?

My definition of Maxed out means ultra settings at 2560X1440 or more and with 4X MSAA.
Technically I guess that would be maxed out, but I use 1920x1080 instead because few people are able to invest in a 2560x1440 resolution monitor.
