Hey everyone. My old headset needs to be replaced because my kitten got to the wire, and cut completely through. She also chewed up/scratched the cushions in place for the ears.
Im rolling on a smaller budget now, and I need some recommendations for a good quality headset that can last a while, preferably 1-2 years.
Here is what I need.
- Audio quality is by far the most important.
- Mic quality is just as important as the audio.
- The wire should not be excessively long.
- I would love it if there was a small device on the wire that allows me to quickly change the audio from high to low etc.
- Comfort is key. Although it does not need so much cushion that it looks way to big.
My budget: $40 is the most I can do. I know that I won't be able to get the best Turtle Beaches, but there has to be other good brands that provide solid headsets for lower prices. Maybe Turtle Beach has some cheaper headsets, not cheaper in quality, cheaper in price.
So does anyone have any recommendations, from deals that they could find, or what they are currently using?

Thank you everyone!
I totally reccomend the G35 logitech! But then I read the post and saw that you only had $40. The G35 is probably the best headset out there. It's at a whooping 140$. But it's totally worth the price for the audio quality. The only downside is I can't play this one steam game because it doesn't support the G35 (no audio). Those cheeky devs But other than that it's totally awesome. It has a kind of... weird wire that feels kinda like rope string. Which is kinda neat =) And it does come with replacement headphone covers xD

I own two cats, been there done that. Not a fun experience at all.
Highly recommend the Koss KCS75 + a mod mic or Zalman Mic. The Kosses may seem cheap, but they are highly regarded for their audio quality and others have used them for games. However, the on ear experience isn't for everyone. In this case, the next best thing I can recommend is the Panasonic RP-HTF600s. Unfortunately it will be near impossible to find a headset that supports 5.1 surround sound at $40, so it would just be better to get a pair of headphones and an external mic like the ones I listed above.
I think I will grab the pair of Turtle Beach Z11s because I found a deal at a local store for only $25. How does that sound? Is this a good deal, or should I buy normal headphones and a clip on mic?

Thinking about coming a mod to simply not moderate.
EDIT: Just noticed you have a $40 budget. You can try Turtle Beach Z11's.
