The iPad basically defined the tablet. Sure, there have been multiple attempts at creating a tablet before Apple released the iPad, but still, the iPad was first, and everything else came after it.
Because of this, many people immediately think of the iPad when they think of a tablet computer. Apple appears to be very good at this - the iPad, and iPhone are still seen as status symbols by a lot of people. There will always be a market for Apple products. The well-informed people are probably going to go for different products, but remember, most people are not very well-informed. Apple products aren't completely bad either. They're all designed with the non-tech-savvy people in mind, and right out of my head, I know a few people who like the iPhone just for its easiness of use.
Apple isn't going to fall. It may lose a part of the market, but it's not going to fall. I don't think anybody should want it to fall either. Competition tends to accelerate innovation.
Oh and also, Windows is looking pretty damn good on phones. But please don't forget about us PC users...
I wish more people would realize apple products are (mostly) overpriced, locked down pieces of ****. As much as I'd love to see them fail, they provide competition to other companies.
Windows has lost the smart phone market. Why would I buy a windows phone when I could get an Android and run custom distros/software/ROMS? Open source is the future. I know plenty of people that now understand the value of open source products, thanks to Android phones.
Most of my friends share the same ideas I have on this: If we buy a tablet, we will settle for nothing less than an open-source OS, preferably Android.
I glanced at Badly-Drawn Jesus, then pulled the gun from my pocket. On Judgment Day, I'd be able to proudly state that when I thought the hordes of hell were coming for a local girl, I stood ready to shoot at them with a small-caliber pistol
